A beautiful tribute with a flawless performance which I believe was extremely hard. Being the significance of the situation. Well done, Sir. Her majesty would be ever so proud.
Paul is indeed a wonderful fiddler and would be so much better if he could bring himself to stop his excessive moving about. It is a distraction that could be well done without. A beautiful composition without a doubt but to my mind it doesn't seem to fit the Scottish tradition.
Paul this is really beautiful and such a soulful lament to the memory of the late Queen - Thank you so much for sharing your fantastic music. Kind regards 👍🎻
Just watched you on sky news. This piece is so beautiful and moving. Thank you for such a wonderful tribute to Her Majesty. Some music is beyond just notes and can move us in ways we don't even realise. God bless you.
Sir, that's a very interesting and ear-catching note you introduce at 3:59 and its repeat. What a master I think you are of expression and technique in service to your imagination. The slides are a welcome ornament to the tune. Best wishes to you.
Paul, Queen Elizabeth II represents so much that was right with the world, especially her service to others in in World War II. Your composition is very moving. Thank you for sharing. Mike from Texas
Thank you Mike. Incidently the late Queen was known as Queen Elizabeth the 1st in Scotland. Elizabeth the 1st of England reigned prior to the Union of the Scottish and English Crowns in 1603.
@@fingalcromar95 Paul, please forgive my ignorance. Thanks for responding. I always appreciate your kindness and courtesy. I enjoy your content and your wonderful talent. Mike
i couldn't actually pick out the melody. The time difference between one note and another is longer than my short term memory so i just can't ever get it. I tried speeding it up 2 times but it's still just maybe what we hope of the royalty - waffle best forgotten. I'll try 6 times speed. That might bring it into focus.
@murray hobbs - even if you're not a royalist and can't see the back of them quick enough, shame you can't appreciate the beauty of the tune and playing...
@murray hobbs: If you can't pick out the melody here, you've clearly not actually "listened" to the tune properly to dismiss it as "waffle best forgotten". Are you a musician yourself? Or perhaps you are, as I rather suspect, one of these tinpot internet trolls hiding behind a keyboard with nothing much good to say for himself about anything!
If you're being honest with yourself, how do you think Queen Elizabeth the first would rate Queen Elizabeth II? She would probably have her burned at the stake as a traitor. Probably not probably.

To play for her dances, and then to play her to her rest; this is a wonderful tribute from a great fiddler. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.

Aye, nice balanced tune that sorta reflects a life of seviceyet reflects the sombre beauty o’ the times. Did you ivver play for the Queen? Laura
Quite a few times Laura; mainly at Crathie Kirk but at Balmoral Castle and Crathie School as well.
Just devine

I think the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II will fare better in the annals of history than QE I.
