Really? The fly cover is so tight when its on the tent. I'm not sure I could even roll it up that far. I will give it a try though. Thanks for the information!
Why don’t you watch tensiles setup video? It shows you that this c clips above the front entrance are to roll the tarp up into so you can access the front door with the tarp on. Also, you can take the tie down pints on the tarp and wrap them under to the hatch and it protects the underside from the wind.
I had the original Tentsile a Stingray Tent. I didn’t have the clips. That’s why I didn’t know what they where for. I did watch the video later on. Guess I should have do that before making the video! lol
Where you said what is this for? When you were holding one of two clips, those are clips for the front 2nd layer door. You roll it up kinda tight and it clips in on those two points.
Cool even the extra tarpaulins are absolutely cool in camouflage colors, because these tarpaulins are really big, you automatically come up with a lot of ideas. ! Personally, day by day, I think of more and more, I thank the inventor for this kind of tent, even a hammock can be cool extended, because not in every country is the same camping in the outdoors, so you can cool everything fit and can freely decide on the space of the legislator and ideas can bubble again and again to change everything even more extensively to make an extra adventure out there. ! Look around in nature and let your thoughts run wild, you'll see how awesome a tree tent can be. Think about it to the self-assurance, then you are open to all ways. ! I'm fiddling with a burner because you can relax and then use in the trees to make coffee or tea, these pump burners are great, but a safe handling is the best synonymous to relax everything tip for manufacturers, that will be cool, I bubble just for ideas. ! by
Very professional and informative review. I really appreciate you taking the time to put this video together, nice editing by the way! Subscribed! I hope you're still enjoying your tent?? 🤙
Thanks for the information! Although I wouldn’t suggest doing that even though that’s what Tentsile shows. I tried it one night and woke up in a very wet tent. You lose all ventilation in this tent clipping the sides to the bottom door.
Those clips confused the hell out of me at first. Lol but I use them to roll up the front of the rain tarp in. Just kinda jerry rig it up in there. Haha.
I have two German Shepherds myself. I wouldn’t let them in this tent though. It doesn’t take much to rip the bottom since it’s so tight. Mine sleep below the tent because it provides ample shelter.
As the person below commented the clips in the front are for the rain fly. Also, on tentsile’s video they show how to secure the rain fly to reduce wind. It gets clipped to the access point underneath. Good review otherwise.
Thank you Nici! I appreciate the feedback. I finally figured everything out! lol I don’t recommend folding the rain fly under the tent though. I’ve done it twice like Tentsile shows but it cuts out all ventilation. I woke up in a wet tent both times. At least that’s been my experience...
They meant the clips where you said "hey Tentsile, what are these for? They look like they'd hold a pole" - you roll the fly up tight over the front door and those clips hold it in place.
I just bought a stingray and have a question: have you ever used trees smaller than the recommended 15 inch diameter? What are the smallest trees you’ve used? If so have you ever had any problems? Thanks
Yes have used much smaller trees. It will bow them in some but never had any issues. It will also cause the Stingray to shake as the wind blows with smaller trees. I did have problems with the first version of the Stingray but even after three years the sent me the newer version for free! Tentsile is a great company!
Southern Adventures thanks for the reply! That’s a relief. I’ve been using mine with two large trees and one smaller...with no issues. The tree doesn’t move at all. But Tentsile was so adamant about their 15 inch tree policy when I chatted with their support line. I didn’t know what to think. Even in their promotional videos you can spot small trees being used. I’m sure it’s to protect them legally which is understandable. Thanks again!
Watch the video on where the makers set it up amd give suggestions. You dont have to do the tie downs they will clip underneath to the bottom door. Tie downs equal more air and clipping underneath equals less air.
Hey dude great review. But i have small question... What about waterproof no one seems to be mentioning anything abour raining days. Any advice? Does it stay dry inside if it rains for few days non stop? Thanks ;)
Hey bromHex! Thanks for stopping by and great question. The Tentsile Stingray is waterproof. I've used it in rain, sleet, and snow. Never has it leaked.
Those clips that you want to know what they are for? When you roll the fly cover up out of the way of the front entrance, the clips hold it in place.

Hi... would love to see what and how you pack your 5 day bag.....possible video?
Great idea Rob! I will definitely take some time to make that video!
I love mine. I have used mine many times during storms. I use mine ATV camping where weight is not an issue.
Well i just might have a review coming soon for a new product you might like..... Thanks for the comment Eric!
Do you find it hard to locate 3 trees spaced apart like a triangle?
You had better info than the company website. Well done
I appreciate that!
Great review on those tents
Thank you so much!
When you go higher you hang sand bags to keep fly tight or attach to bottom of tent or just use longer string
I like the sand bag idea! Thanks I’ll give it a try.

You can clip the tarp on the bottom hatch to give you more protection from the elements

Thank you c broCat! Very kind words sir! Yes the tent is very enjoyable and still using it!
Great review... thanks!!!
Thanks Nicos!
The clips are for your rain fly... fold the door up and clip it around the bunch of material
Yes sir! I finally figured that out!
What’s in your hiking bag? Can you do a video on what you carry?
You can secure the tarp to the bottom entrace... it does not have to flop around.
Thanks for the information! Although I wouldn’t suggest doing that even though that’s what Tentsile shows. I tried it one night and woke up in a very wet tent. You lose all ventilation in this tent clipping the sides to the bottom door.
You sure do, it would be a last ditch option for bad weather situations where moisture in your tent in the morning is the last of your worries.
Those clips confused the hell out of me at first. Lol but I use them to roll up the front of the rain tarp in. Just kinda jerry rig it up in there. Haha.
Thanks Ashley! lol I finally figured it out!
Dude... if they made this in a 3lb version, I'd be ALL over it!!! Great review!!! Still one of the coolest tents out there!!!!
Thanks Restless Outdoors! Check back the on the first week in March. I’m releasing a new tent review that week. You will definitely want to see it!
Will do!!! 👍
I have a question ...can you put the ladder on the first opening hole?
No you can’t. The ladder can only go in the middle unfortunately.
im pretty sure is not ideal for customers with dogs right?? i have a germans shepherd and im scared of my dog claws ripping a hole..

Very interesting product and great review.
Thank you Uncle Bill!

Hey bromHex! Thanks for stopping by and great question. The Tentsile Stingray is waterproof. I've used it in rain, sleet, and snow. Never has it leaked.
How does this thing treat your back? Does it sag a whole bunch? I imagine it's like sleeping on a stuff trampoline?
been wondering about this too for a while
Ground does not provide any insulation, actually quite the opposite, especially if it is cold.
While you are correct. I was mainly referring to the wind rushing under this tent.
got you from PUSA
would you feel safe from a black bear
I don't know about leaving my gear outside...animals and people could walk off with it.
Complain too much. 22lbs not that heavy. As much as a person ruck/hike, that should be light weight.
I'd be more concerned about sharp objects ripping holes in the floor...
Hmmmmm🤔
