STOP PEN SPRING MODS ON YOUR CRAWLER!!!

Modifying with pen springs can loose between 1-3 centimeters of travel on your crawler. There is a better option! (if it works for your terrain)

So if one thing works for someone but not another, why title your video "stop the pen spring mod on your crawlers" when it works for other people. Your title implies people should stop it all together. Pen spring mod is for droop suspension set up where removing the spring cup as you have done is lowering the static ride height. In simple terms droop will improve side hill and climbing capabilities by preventing the suspension from unloading as easily. Where you have just lowered the crawler, not preventingit from the suspension unloading in certain situations@@meunsupervised7320

The travel limitation of pen springs is so that when the front end becomes unweighted at steep climb angles the pen spring will actually pull the body back down towards the wheels and help prevent rolling over.

You are talking about 2 totally different things here.. yes taking the spring cups off will lower the car but the pen spring mod is to limit down travel .. it has nothing to do with the ride height of the car.. 🤷‍♂️

You might want to read your comment again. "Yes taking the spring cups off will lower the car" followed by "It has nothing to do with the ride height". Yet ride height is the distance between the bottom of the chassis and the surface. So I guess you're right and wrong at the same time. Also, I'm not looking to limit travel. Thanks for your comment! Springs only do one thing. Set ride height. If want a softer set up use softer oil and adjust your links

Unfortunately travel is lost by doing so. I opted not to do so and have a great sag which helps on my terrain.

I doo the hair tie mod ,no lost of suspension travel or full flex with the right rings.Lowering chassis 10-15mm also.

I find it easier just to remove the caps. I don't lose any suspension travel and still get full flex while still lowering the rig.
