It’s always so pleasing to the ears to listen to a real piano instead of synthesisers. And Rajshri ji who is better known for Thumri and Dadra has nicely adapted the Ghazal to the fusion form. The best thing about this video:performance is the minimalism and unpluggedness. Please do more of this Rajshri ji. We need to hear more of you - you can easily be as popular as Rekha Bharadwaj ji or Shilpa Rao in these experimental forms.
Having said that I should add that a ghazal is first and foremost about the lyrics. The performers seemed to be more with the performance than with the poetry itself. The non-verbals were not harmonious with the existential lines. It didn’t feel like the singer was experiencing them here and now.
