- It's been a long time since I've uploaded any violin-ing! This was a quick and dirty recording for a Musicology class project, so unfortunately I didn't have time to learn it better. But still, really really fun piece to play.
Recorded on an Audio-Technica AT2020 usb
nice little reverb added in Logic
Sheet music bought from markoconnor.com
performed by Forrest McKinney
P.S. if you haven't heard Mark O'Connor's recordings of this song, you're missing out! Appalachian = fantastic album (and all the recordings of it done since then are fantastic as well)
I'm enjoying this more & more every time I hear it. (And that's a bunch!) So very proud of my son.
You brought tears to my eyes the first time you played for me years ago... Apparently that hasn't changed.. Absolutely beautiful Forrest.. You just made my heart smile..
Very nicely played Forrest. Thank you for sharing your talents.
The first time I've ever even heard of Mark O'Connor was last month, so it's funny to see you throw up a vid.
It sounds awesome, and this piece is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for posting. :D Keep the vids coming! It's always a treat to hear you play
awesome job forrest!
Awesome, dude.
@drumstx2010 I just bought the album you recommended and it's beautiful! Thank you for the suggestion.
@thechunkysundae Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!
@sanitilium Very nice, welcome to the world of O'Connor music! Definitely pick up "30 year retrospective" album if you ever get a chance, good stuff. And thanks fo much for the complement, I've been slacking off for a bit but hopefully I'll be getting some videos up soon. :P
Yeah, too bad you didn't get to learn it better....WHAT?! That was lovely! Anyway, I'm trying to learn this piece and having a hard time with all the double stops! I'm trying to separate the top part and the bottom part but I keep getting myself all confused. Anyway, you played this very well!
He was playing two strings at the same time, not using effects.
I guess he means that all music should be played purely acoustically. Or sung.
Why does it sound like you recorded this in a big church?
erm... what?
