I had a Clarisonic brush a few years ago…… Woke up one day and found my grandma (who had beginning stage Alzheimer’s) cleaning the toilet bowl with it. I miss both- the brush and my grandma. (RIP Grammie, you took my dang brush with you so hopefully you remember me lol!) 🥲
Clarisonic’s give me war flashbacks to the period in my life right after I tried proactive and it damaged my skin so bad. trying to clean up the acne with a ruined skin barrier with a spinning brush really helped a lot 🤡💀
I have had my Clarisonic since 2013. It still works and I buy replacement brush heads Amazon. The problem with Clarasonic is that it never had to be replaced. It just doesn't stop working. I will probably give it a big send off the day it dies.
Crazy thing is I have still have my Clarisonic Mia from 2015 and still use it to this day. It works just as well and I get the knockoff brush heads from Amazon that are much cheaper than the brand name ones were
it's making me want to find mine lol i have the foreo- love the toothbrush, face device just ok, i miss the deeper exfoliation...i may use it again for 2 weeks and see if theres a difference, i bought my replacement heads from amazon, sometimes ebay...
@@foreverwins I usually use the Clarisonic only 2 or 3 times per week because I have sensitive skin and it doesn't bother my skin or make me break out at all
I actually worked for Clarisonic back before they were purchased by L'oreal. There were special cleansers that went with the device, and those brush heads were our main revenue driver. I was in corporate consumer sales and we would make product recommendations according to a person's skin needs, still had dermatologists calling as well. The Redmond, WA office was awesome because we had our own warehouse. There was even an elongated handle for the device to turn it into a back brush, very popular with older folks.
@@SpiritualBabydoll I've lived in both Bellevue and Redmond (WA State) for about 14 years before returning to my hometown. I will always love that area. RTC was my favorite shopping place years ago. Happy Holidays!!
Reminds me of my mom. reminds me of the 4th of July when me and my siblings were sitting in a cult de sac and some rugged looking man on a bike came up to us and asked if we wanted to ride his bike with him. I ran inside and screamed to my mom and aunt , and my mom was using hers, and she ran out, bubbles all over her face and screamed at him and he immediate scurried off. A horrifying yet hilarous story i had to share. Memory is an odd thing cause i always associate the Clarisonic with that story 😂😂😂
"cult de sac" lol! I guess it autocorrected "CUL de sac" haha that made me chuckle, as did your story, glad you're okay! And go mom she sounds badass haha!
It excels with gentle cleansers with acids in them just gently press to the face and slowly glide across no need to scrub. Never need to exfoliate because of it. Before I found that out. Another really cool use was the extremely gentle rice powder exfoliant from dermatologica used with the clarasonic turned it into something beyond amazing.
I still have my Mia 2 from Highschool and despite it being 10 years old it still works great! I'm that person who just cleans and reuses the brush heads lol
This is a bit off-topic, but I hope you will one day use your soothing voice to read audiobooks. I'm not sure what they call someone who does that work, but you understand what I mean. Your voice is like silk to my ears! I absolutely love listening to you speak! 🥰
I was working as a Territory manager for FOREO from 2018-2020. The market for cleaning brushes was so exciting! Foreo was killing it in 2017-2018 then crash. They let go of half of their people the US. But both brand was very innovating back then. One of the best time of my career! #nostalgia
Is Foreo still owned by Lelo 😂 I was an industrial designer in the industry back then and the designers and I would crack up knowing they use the same components as a vibrator
@GlitterGuru I worked at an adult novelty store boutique when Foreo started becoming popular and I wasn't a skin care girly but I was a "self care" girly and I immediately clocked the Lelo/Foreo similarities. The toothbrush? 👀 I mean, come on. LOOK AT IT.
You guys shouldn’t have made those things so sturdy haha I bought my Foreo 8 years and use it probably 5 times a week. If it ever broke I probably would have bought another but nope! Still trucking.
@@HRoss22 omg i have so many story about FOREO/LELO… definitely very similar! Apparently they were doing well in the Middle East because sex toys are not allowed. But a toothbrush that vibrate is! 🤦🏼♂️😮
The key in Clarisonic's effectiveness is that it's oscillating at a sonic speed and not rotating the brush around and around. The knock-offs all had rotating heads, which I could only use on my body for my KP. I still have my Clarisonic and I just bought a few brushes off of eBay to have them in case they do sell out everywhere. I want to be able to use the device for my mini-facials, which I do usually once a month (when I also tint my brows and lashes).
exactly the knock offs are garbage, it's only good because of the sonic oscillations. You don't have to press with it just gently hold to the skin and the brush vibrations do the work and it allows a person to use nice gentle cleansers because it makes them way more effective. When I hear people say they can't use it because they have sensitive skin I already know they were shoving the thing into their face and scrubbing with it or using some harsh cleanser with it.
@juniorjr.427 Yes! My mother had a super old one from the 70s or something. I assume the Clairsonic was an update on that device. I don't think the old devices reached the same level of popularity, so the Clarisonic seemed like a very new and fresh idea when it wasn't.
@@WaterspoutsOfTheDeep I never said it was sonic. I said it existed. The concept existed and was expanded upon. The product looks exactly the same - and yes, it was from the 70s or early 80s.
My derm used to promote the Clarisonic so I bought one due to their recommendation. I remember being super impressed with the improvement in my skin texture initially, but after months of regular use I ended up eventually over exfoliating the crap out of my skin (face was irritated, red, waxy, bumpy) and never touched the brush ever again. Those acne brush heads were no joke 😂
Omgggggg the flashbacks… 🫨 I used mine twice a day, and remember being SO PLEASED at how squeaky clean my skin felt. I’m sorry, earlier me’s skin barrier!
I remember my mom got me a Clarasonic for Christmas one year when I was in college and was struggling with acne. I used it for a while and liked the brush, but honestly my favorite part was the cleanser that came with it. I really liked the smooth, bubbly texture and it did seem to help my acne a bit even when I just used the cleanser on its own. I might have to find mine and try it again for nostalgia.
Not only did I have a Clarisonic original in like 2006, I sold them in my job.The rep told me my skin would purge and then become a new level of awesome. Well, i completely destroyed my skin barrier. Despite my job, over exfoliation was not really a thing back then. It took ages to get it good again. I put down my Clarisonic and have been cleansing with fingers for 15 years. I really feel a good cleanser massaged in is the most superior option.
I bought mine because of Tati 😅 Actually loved it and used it everyday for years and years. It was the start of actually caring for my skin and using something other than wipes to remove makeup and cleanse.
Rotating electric cleansing brushes have been around at least since the 1970's, when I had one. Clarisonic's was only new because of the ultrasonic aspect. I never got one because I wanted to wait until long-term studies showed how the ultrasonic waves affected the skin. Not long before Clarisonic's downfall I read that a study showed the Clarisonic created microtears in the skin. I've always assumed this study had a major effect on their sales as well as the many dupes in the marketplace. It also saddens me to think how many of those 15 million Clarisonic products have ended up in landfills.
Aren't controlled microtears good for collagen production? Though yes dermaneedling or dermarolling would be a better way of creating that. And absolutely shouldn't be done daily.
That sounds like fear mongering as exfoliation also causes micro tears and the evidence for exfoliation is very good. You can see women who would actually SCRUB their face everyday with a brush have much better skin in their old age. I would think if anything that is causing micro tearing and nothing even comparable to a clarisonic.
I still have my Clarisonic Mia. I use it every day. I was so upset that it was discontinued in 2020. I went to Sephora and Ulta and scooped up every brush i could get my hands on. Now, i get similar brush heads on Amazon.😊
cream cleanser with aha/bha in it with clarasonic is pro level use of the device. just in case you don't clue in to what I just said a cream cleanser has oil already emulsified into the base removing the need for the double cleansing concept, and of course having aha/bha in the cleanser is just a smart move.
I bought clarsonic and used it for like a year maybe. In 2017 or 18 I got myself Foreo Luna and been using it till today and I have absolutely no issues with it!
Fun fact: Foreo is owned by the sex toy company Lelo and use the same components as (I use to be an industrial designer in that industry and would always crack up knowing people use them the same way just marketed differently )
I got the Olay brush as a teen and felt so cool having a device at the time! Bought a foreo during my sephora-obsessed phase but rarely used it. Last year I gave it away on my local Buy Nothing group so that it could hopefully have some purpose. Even after four years in a drawer it never lost its initial charge.
Holy crap. I was thinking about this just last week when I found my pink Clarisonic in its carrying case. When I used to work for Sephora back in the day I remember when it was first released. I remember them pushing this as a needed tool because “your hands can’t clean your skin as well as a Clarisonic” 🙄. Now, I loved my Clarisonic but I hated the fact that in order to sell this you had to tell people they had dirty faces because they were washing their face with their hands.
that's funny to me. i was a dept store makeup artist in the late 90's who couldn't afford to use the same brand I was selling(Origins)&had to lie to customers about the shade of eyeshadow, foundation etc. I was wearing. I couldn't even afford their skincare. What did I use to wash my face? I was told by my boss/best friend to get that clear glycerin soap they sold in the grocery store for 60cents. He told me that was the BEST thing I could do for my skin. He was from NY&told me to just use L'OreaI everything bc the more expensive brands came from the same French factory used by L'Oreal. I put my eyeshadow on w/fingers, used hands to wash my face and then used the glycerin soap to take it all off when I got home. I sold tons of product&everyone told me what "beautiful skin" I had and also what a good "artist" I was. Good Times.
lol Wouldn't be a problem today after the pandemic. Now people know their hands are dirty, and especially if they live in a city like Manhattan, your hands get FILTHY just walking around.
I had a Mia 2 and a bottle of Philosophy’s Purity wash, it was my first purchase ever from Ulta 😆 I bought a four pack or the sensitive brush head and every week I deep cleaned those suckers and never took it into the shower. it really did help my acne in my early twenties.
This was the equivalent of the Drunk Elephant kids now, but it's way easier for mum and dad to say no to something costing the same as a game console compared to one little jar of goo. Young beauty fans will always be the same. There were probably Victorian kids wanting to use their mum's cold cream to take off the rouge they weren't wearing, and sulking because they were told no 😂
@@4isionaeriI remember when I was 16 I was so mad that my mom wouldn’t buy me a BMW! Keep in mind my mom was a housekeeper and a single mom 😂😂😂😂 We laugh about it now but my mom was heartbroken she couldn’t buy me a car
@@SairWithTheHairpeople get so upset about kids wanting expensive stuff made for adults. They're **children**, they're following the same basic urge as putting on their parents' clothes to pretend to go to work.
As wild as it is, I would say makeup brush/ sponge cleaning technology was improved because of the Clarisonic. I had a teacher in my cosmetology class who worked in dermatology, she basically said the clarisonic could be used with a non-exfoliating cleanser to deeply clean, but only a select few cleansers could be gentle enough on the skin WITH the brush. In the end, she said people realized they didn't need a tool in order to exfoliate their skin, and slowly they died off. I still see Foreo's to this day, but that's because they're marketed as"on-the-go and easy to clean", making them super travel friendly for people. Plus, you don't need to bring attachments with it.
This was a great video. Not only did it discuss the Clarisonic, my favorite beauty device to this day, but it also taught me something new. I was today years old when I found out one of my favorite brands, Youth to the People, was acquired by L’Oréal. That’s really disappointing to hear.
I literally LOVE my Clarisonic! Mine still works. It was made so incredibly well! It made an amazing difference in my skin from the moment I first used it. Come back Clarisonic!!
We are redoing our bathroom and I found my old Olay Pro brush 2 weeks ago. It was a huge splurge when I got it as a gift, even though it wasn't very expensive. I also remember my sister loved her Clarisonic. At one time brush heads were hard to find. I recall a spa going out of business and selling off their supply. They would only sell 5 or 10 per customer so she had me ask all of my friends to buy some for her. What a nostalgic video!
I still have my Clarisonic and love it. Amazon has knock off brushes and I always soak the brush head after I use it. I let it soak in hydrogen peroxide
I absolutely LOVED my Clarisonic! It was fantastic at clearing up my troubled skin as a young adult. I had clogged pores, acne, and textured skin and this was the only device during that time that helped me cleanse my face thoroughly! The brushes were AMAZING too! IMO there was a huge difference between the brush heads that Clarisonic had vs the knock-offs. I also bought the Foreo for combo skin (purple) and the mini which I thought was just okay, for sure more gentle than Clarisonic. Of course, when Clarisonic discontinued I did have to use the Foreo more often and overall it did the job but I did miss the Clarisonic. Fortunately, I don’t need to rely on these devices since I’ve outgrown the bad skin stage, but I would recommend these devices for young teens and adults suffering from acne.
I still love my Clarisonic Mio 2 after 6 years. I never used it according to the instructions. I exfoliate up to 3x a week alternating between physical and enzyme exfoliation and AHA toners. I use my Clarisonic only once per week or 2 max. Once a month I drop the brush head and cap into 70% isopropyl alcohol for 30 mins, then drop them in distilled water for 10min. I let the head and cap dry completely before putting it away. Been using the same brush for over a year and no breakouts.
I used to love my Clarisonic. It really helped with my adult acne. I remember after it finally broke, I went to the store to replace it and it was gone!
I didn’t get a Clarisonic until I worked for Sephora and got one in gratis in 2015. I did end up buying the nicer one 5 years later when we had an extra discount but both still work! The one I got in gratis I used every day until recently and when it was new I charged it once a month, now I charge it every couple weeks. When they went OOB, I admit I stockpiled a lot of the brush heads since they went on deep discount and I still got my employee discount on top of that. I still have 3 brush heads left 😂 I also grabbed the eye massager (which I love, even though I’m sure it’s totally unnecessary) and had gotten two of the foundation brush heads in gratis as well. The foundation brush worked really well but it was too much for me to bring the device from the bathroom to where I do my makeup when I already had so many high-quality makeup brushes. I still think it’s a great device.
I wanted a Clarisonic for years based on everything shown in magazines & QVC!! I finally bought the Mia 2 from QVC about six years ago. In 2017 I became obsessed with Tati Westbrook’s RUclips channel & I wanted everything she talked about. I can’t remember when but she did a sponsorship with them when the new “smart” ones were released. In that video she said why she loved their products & said she keeps one in her shower & a second one around her bathroom sink. I’d been loving the first one & loved the idea of two. I found the OG online somewhere for my shower. As soon as heard the company was shutting down, I went to their website & ordered the “smart” one cause the eye attachment wasn’t interchangeable. It was super cheap & even came with several attachments. I still have all three but stopped using them a cpl years ago when each one died, they’re still dead, cause I’m too lazy to charge them!!
I still use my Clarisonic. I have not found anything else that cleans my oily congested skin as well. I stocked up on brush heads when I heard they were no longer producing them anymore.
I work for Lancôme, I was given a Clarisonic after the training and then was given another after meeting my targets. They were a great device to use at the time.
I loved Clarisonic so much when I got mine sometime in the 2010s. It felt like I was getting a better clean and my products were being absorbed better. It broke my heart when they changed the brushes. Now I'm in esthetician school and I realize all the Clarisonic did was exfoliate me daily. I didn't exfoliate before that. 😅
Still use mine …10+ years strong. I did hear it was bad for your skin and I stopped using it for a couple months. I noticed a huge difference. It just works for me. When they went out of business I bought enough brush heads to last me a long time.
Oh my gosh I worked at Ulta in 2012-2013. We had such a hard time keeping Clarisonic in stock!! I actually bought two Mia 2s because a new color came out 😂 I sold one and bought the new color. What a time to be alive. I had actually wondered recently what happened to them! Crazy how abruptly they disappeared.
I wanted one so much but I hated the price of the replacement heads. I’m glad, because I have sensitive skin and an inflammatory disorder- my skin would have probably hated it 💀
Thank you for this. I had the Original, then the Mia, then Smart Profile. I used it twice a day, every day with the cashmere brushes. My complexion was amazing. I was devastated when L’Oreal dropped it. I reluctantly transitioned to double cleanse, AHAs, Omniluxe and NuFace. I have the Fooreo but rarely use it. I really miss my Clarisonic.
As a man in his 40’s who has worked in the beauty industry for over 12 years, I’m still very much obsessed with my Clarisonic smart profile cleanser. First off, the quality of the battery they used is unmatched. I charge it around once every 4 months. What really sold me on it was, before I used the Clarisonic, when I’d run my fingers over my cheeks I would feel the nubs of blackheads and congested skin underneath. Once I started using it that all went away. And the one minute timer with pulses that let you know when to move on to different areas of your face was a thoughtful touch that emphasized precision and reinforced efficiency, especially knowing it would shut itself off after one full minute of use. I replace heads around every 3-4 months and they are still pretty easy to find online. I tried the Foreo but it just felt like I was rubbing silicone over my face, not like it was deep cleansing. I know using the Clarisonic makes me a dinosaur in today’s times but it’s still a revered part of my shower ritual when I’m bathing at home and will probably be until it goes dead on me.
James…… thank you so much for this video. My Clarisonic died about three months ago. I loved it. I had the real high tech version which I bought when I lived in the US ($300+ at Sephora), and it could be charged by USB. I used it for my evening cleanse and on the days that I didn’t use it for whatever reason, I could tell the difference in my skin. I plugged it in to recharge three months ago and nothing happened. I haven’t been able to get it fixed since they’re not made anymore. I have been searching for a replacement ever since and I can’t find one anywhere. I tested it against the Foreo when it came out and there was just no comparison. I never had any issues with the Clarisonic while I used it. My skin just hasn’t been the same I had to give it up. As for brushes: while I had replacement brushes I rarely changed them. Possibly once a year? I kept it very clean, and never had any issues. If anyone knows how to find one or how to fix the one I have, please let me know! I do think that a major issue in marketing the Clarisonic has been it’s indestructibility. It just didn’t need to be replaced. Even the brushes were indestructible.
My mom and I both had Clarisonics in the early 2010’s! I got my own because I was always using hers 😂 I think I stopped using it because keeping track of when to replace the brush heads was becoming too much. That, and acne care wasn’t as robust as it is today, so I really didn’t have a good way to treat mine. The brush just felt excessive. I bought a silicone dupe recently and I love it! Feels like I’m getting a mini facial every time I take a shower. ☺️💕
It really was a turning point for skincare tools at the time. I sitll have my Clarisonic and I used it up until last year. I knew I could buy replacement heads from a certain website but, I kept thinking, was it worth it? My battery was dying slowly as it didn't hold charges as long as it used to and chemical exfoliants did the trick for a good exfoliation too. It became totally obsolete in my routine like I'm sure it did for many others too. Thank you for talking about them and bringing back this nostalgia. Those were the good ol' days. :)
Honestly I loved my clarisonic and still have many replacement brushes, yet I havent used it since 2021 as I changed my cleanser and it didnt really made sense anymore. I will say, I really liked the massager heads and how good it was to wash my face after heavy make up days. It did help me become consistent with washing my face and overall it wasn't so bad it terms of experience. Clarisonic really helped me get into my skin care journey and be more mindful about my skin.
Turns out I was majorly allergic to proactive. That was a painful lesson to learn, never tried it again. I loved the brush and still use it to this day
I bought mine in 2019 and I was so excited. Now, I use it every once in a while and it is fantastic. I feel like I am rationing my brushes but perhaps I will try the Amazon ones . I also liked the cleansers.
I never bought the Clarisonic, it was expensive, big and clunky and honestly reminded me of like car detail cleaning devices 😂 but I bought a Foreo 8 years ago for $99, been using it probably 5 times a week for all 8 years and I love it! It’s a sturdy little thing that’s for sure, been all around the world with me.
I loved my Clarisonics. I notice small bumps forming around my hairline and ears many years ago. I bought a Clarisonic and they quickly disappeared. I am sure it was the exfoliation that helped. Back then, foaming facial cleanser didn’t seem to do well along the hairline at removing makeup and hair products. My Clarisonic did a great job though. I also loved that the company offered free engraving. So sad no other company continued the product.
I still have the original Clarisonic that I bought close to when it was first released lol. It never broke down. I never needed to purchase another one. I also bought more brushes nefore they went out of business. That brush is and was the best thing ever. I am black and found that my foundation would never come off by washing regularly , which is one reason why my skin was bad. This brush is amazing for removing all of my foundation without overexfoliating. I think the people that had that issue had sensitive skin or pressed too hard when they used it or both.
Never had a Clarisonic, as a acne girly my dermatologist said hell no! He told me to get s foreo or a soft silicone face brush. And i’ve had my foreo for 10 years now and i love it. No changing heads, anti microbial, not rough on my skin 🥰
Omg I haven't seen your channel in a few years- but wow! You're aging backwards!!! Amazing, glowing and even weight loss. Content is on point, but let's appreciate how beautiful you are sir! Wishing you all the best this holiday season 😊
I miss Clarisonic soooo bad!!!! Best skincare device ever. The education was just missing. They needed to educate the client more to know how to use it properly.
I could have sworn it came with instructions that said to only use it 2-3 times a week, but I wonder if that was just instinctive exfoliation advice 😅 I miss mine as well, the other brush brands only rotated and felt…gross?
I had forgotten about the neutrogena wave! And I had one at some point. Never got a Clarisonic but had a version by another brand and really liked it. Never got on with the shape of the little travel foreos but still love my foreo UFO that I got from kickstarter
I still have my original Clarisonic - the original one, battery doesn't stay charged anymore. Love the sonicare toothbrushes, been using them since their inception.
I bulk brought 50 heads when they closed. Still the best product I’ve ever used. I’m convinced they were shut down because they were damaging the skin care market.
I never bought the Clarisonic, because of the price and am using the Foreo Luna Fofo now. I didn't even know the Clarisonic was discontinued. I guess I didn't miss out on anything after watching this video.🤭Thank you for comparing the Clarisonic Mia to Foreo for us.😊
Omg yes! I worked for ulta and they pushed the Clarisonic, left for 6 months, came back and the clarisonic was like a Mandela effect. It totally disappeared
I have the Mia 3 that I got in 2016… I still use it to this day. My charge lasts for about 2 weeks even though I use *I everyday. I’ve never had problems with it but I also like baby it and dry of off. I also don’t repurchase brush heads very often. I wash the brush heads with an antibacterial soap after cleansing then leave the brush head on my windowsill to dry completely until my next use. I love that thing.
I had the Mia Fit in blue for a few years and it stopped working. The new one was a second hand because I didn't want a pink one. the new device stopped working after nearly a year😢 I loved this face cleansing brush so much and was so sad when they went out of business. The Foreo one was ok but didn't impress me. Since I have my PMD Clean Pro Silver since 2020, I love this silicon brush and the heated side with the silver plate❤
I had a Clarisonic Mia 2. I did feel bummed when they went out of business because I felt like that brush really helped with my pores. Now I have a Foreo but I just don't reach for it that often. Of course as I'm getting older my skin is becoming more dry where I used to be combination so I think I'm cleansing differently but I still miss those days and how soft my skin felt.
I was lucky enough to get to do Clinical trials for Clairsonic both before and after L’Oréal purchased it, I still think it’s an amazing tool and luckily have many brush heads from the trials, they would use it once for the pictures then you’d get to take them home. Also got to trial the eye attachments for puffiness, the facial massager. the foot trial protocol with the different filing and massaging heads with serums and creams, many different things over the years, some made it and some just trials. So sad to see them gone! Was so much fun
I have to find all of mine. I have 2 regular sized Clarisonic & 2 smaller MIA's. I loved them & would not travel without them. I stopped using mine around 2019. Not sure why. Then I forgot about them. Thanks for this video. I'm going to start using them again. I got a fraxel treatment a few weeks ago & now I can start doing gentle exfoliation with my Clarisonic. I have all the brush heads, too. Gentle, anti aging, acne, body, etc. This was my first device & I had to have everything.
I bought a Clarisonic at its peak. I just wanted it for the foundation brush. I used it for maybe 30 days and my house burned down in an unrelated electrical fire. Of course with a family other things took priority. Then a few years ago I thought I’d go get another one just for the foundation brush and there was nothing like that on the shelves. It was so cute, mine was purple,my favorite color.
I still have mine Clarasonic, but I don't use it anymore. After watching this video, I am thinking of trying it again. I can see that you can still buy some of the brushes on different websites for cheaper prices.
Hi James, can you do a video or just talk about your skin care routine? I’m a guy with a beard that just got into skin care and I have no idea what I’m doing 😆 I’m confused with the whole face washing, moisturizing, retinals and acids. What and what can and cannot go on the beard? Thank You
I bought one a long time ago on QVC. I chose a black and white leopard print. I use it twice a week and have never changed the brush head. I should get one of those silicone ones
My old Clarisonic Mia 2 finally quit charging. I was heartbroken. Recently I discovered a British company is carrying the Mia Smart and I got one for the nostalgia. I use it when I’m not double cleansing ❤
Hi, James!!! I miss my Mia Fit so bad… I used it until the battery died. Now I have the Foreo Luna mini, the regular size I find hard to handle, I use it only in the morning to get the clean feeling 😅, at night I do the double cleanse to remove the makeup. Foreo is OK but imo Clarisonic was so much better 😢
I have the Mia and Mia 2. They helped me. They didn't hurt me. It changed my skin. I got deep replacement heads from Amazon when I heard they were closing.
I still have and use my smart profile daily. I love the timer that beeps when you need to change sections, and I charge it maybe once a month. The timer lasts for 1 minute so it doesn't run out that quickly. I bought as many brush heads as I could find when I heard they were being discontinued. I have 4 left. I clean my brush heads weekly, I only switch them out when they begin to splay out.
I still have my smart profile too and am down to 3 replacement facial brushes heads, 2 body brush heads, and I also have the foot care attachments. I love it! ☺️❤️
As someone with oily skin the Clarisonic was key for me having clear skin. When they discontinued it I had trouble finding a replacement. The silicone doesn’t break through the oil like the Clarisonic did. I do double cleanse now but it really isn’t the same as I am now touching my face a lot.
😭😭 she would be proud of the spinning cleaning brushes that are viral on TikTok
That's sad and wholesome and kinda gross😅 I'm glad you have that strange memory and she's got your brush😅
❤❤❤❤
Oh my god I’d throw up thinking I’d been washing my face with that 😭😭
I'm sorry but that is so hilarious. Absolutely brill 😊
Clarisonic’s give me war flashbacks to the period in my life right after I tried proactive and it damaged my skin so bad. trying to clean up the acne with a ruined skin barrier with a spinning brush really helped a lot 🤡💀
Same. Then I had to throw in max strength Clearasil benzoyl peroxide and alcohol laden Sebreeze toner 😭 No wonder my acne stuck around for so long.
Clairsonic and Proactive was THE combo omg. I think I'm still trying to find my epidermis.
Your poor lil baby faces 😭😭😭 nooooo
War flashbacks is a bit extreme, considering the world rn.
Glad this wasn’t just a me experience 🥸
I have had my Clarisonic since 2013. It still works and I buy replacement brush heads Amazon. The problem with Clarasonic is that it never had to be replaced. It just doesn't stop working. I will probably give it a big send off the day it dies.
I wish I could say that. Mine died within days of the warranty expiring.
Oh that's too bad. Mine is also from 2013 and still works perfectly @@SneakyM68
And this is why planned obsolescence is a thing 😂
@@emsa5034 They planned mine down to the day the warranty ran out.
You must be a rare case, I loved my Clarisonic since probably 2013 as well. I had to replace it 3 times!
@@foreverwins I usually use the Clarisonic only 2 or 3 times per week because I have sensitive skin and it doesn't bother my skin or make me break out at all
I had to stop using mine because I couldn’t get brush replacements and didn’t want to buy a whole new model.
Me too, same lol
I still use mine too! I thought I was the only one lol
I live here near there how cool!
@@SpiritualBabydoll I've lived in both Bellevue and Redmond (WA State) for about 14 years before returning to my hometown. I will always love that area. RTC was my favorite shopping place years ago. Happy Holidays!!
i had the body brush(never worked had to be replaced) and the long handle
Still have mine and use it all the time!
Aww mama bear had NO time for rinsing! I love this story, of course I’m glad you all were okay.
What a time to be alive 😂😂So happy you are okay! #GoMom
"cult de sac" lol! I guess it autocorrected "CUL de sac" haha that made me chuckle, as did your story, glad you're okay! And go mom she sounds badass haha!
For amusement, cul de sac actually translates to "ass of bag", as in the end of the bag you can't get out from 😂
James read my mind. I just pulled out my clarisonic, charged it, and used it for a deep clean. I think once in a while this is still a gem.
I'm that person who just cleans and reuses the brush
heads lol
Me too!
#nostalgia
I remember being soooo obsessed with Foreo!
Clarisonic is actually the rip off brand in the 90s and 80s they already had a brand Sonic face brush you could purchase it at Sears
exactly the knock offs are garbage, it's only good because of the sonic oscillations.
@@smithtown00 There is no way the whole "sonic" technology started in the 90's with the sonicare toothbrush, that led to the clarisonic.
I was so impressed with the brush that I would frequently use the Philosophy daily scrub ON THE BRUSH. I’m so paranoid about exfoliants now 😂
Omgggggg the flashbacks… 🫨
I used mine twice a day, and remember being SO PLEASED at how squeaky clean my skin felt. I’m sorry, earlier me’s skin barrier!
Same here! I feel like they were amazing for exfoliation but I definitely over exfoliated with it hard, so now I don’t use mine.
i never had one and i’m glad 😂
It took 6 months, for the bumps Clarisonic created on my forehead, to go away! I still use it-on my feet only.
The daily cleanser was my favorite!
Id say don’t try to find your 20 year old cleanser and use it on your face 😅 maybe that’s not a good idea
I think they were talking about the device not the cleanser
Not only did I have a Clarisonic original in like 2006, I sold them in my job.The rep told me my skin would purge and then become a new level of awesome. Well, i completely destroyed my skin barrier. Despite my job, over exfoliation was not really a thing back then. It took ages to get it good again. I put down my Clarisonic and have been cleansing with fingers for 15 years. I really feel a good cleanser massaged in is the most superior option.
tati used to promote this ALLLLL the time 😭 i had no idea l’oréal owned it. could never afford it
Tati was the one that made me want this, I couldn't afford it either 😂
I bought mine because of Tati 😅 Actually loved it and used it everyday for years and years. It was the start of actually caring for my skin and using something other than wipes to remove makeup and cleanse.
Really!! Whenever I remember Clarisonic I remember Tati raving about it 😂
Me neither. Too expensive.
Lol i think she made me but it too
Rotating electric cleansing brushes have been around at least since the 1970's, when I had one.
My Foreo Luna 3 still works amazing and CHANGED my face for the good!!! I love it so much and I swear by it.
Yes! So good:)
I still have my Clarisonic Mia. I use it every day. I was so upset that it was discontinued in 2020. I went to Sephora and Ulta and scooped up every brush i could get my hands on. Now, i get similar brush heads on Amazon.😊
I stopped using it because of the transition to double cleansing and using AhA and BhA. Plus replacing the brushes was a hassle.
Same. Feels gentler overall.
cream cleanser with aha/bha in it with clarasonic is pro level use of the device. just in case you don't clue in to what I just said a cream cleanser has oil already emulsified into the base removing the need for the double cleansing concept, and of course having aha/bha in the cleanser is just a smart move.
The purity made simple wash omg!! Flashbacks 😅
I still use my Mia with the Purity face wash. They work really well together,
I love my Purity face wash, it's my go to!! 😂😂😂😂
i wanted one of these so bad but unfortunately (fortunately?) my parents refused to buy me a $200 brush at 10 years old
LMAOO and my 10 year old self had the audacity to be appalled and angry that my mom didn’t want to buy me such an expensive device 😭
My aunt got me two when I was like 13 😅😅 I don’t think I ever used it and gave them to a homeless shelter
Plus, you don't need to bring attachments with it.
you use the foreo? 😮 James I would love a vid where you talk about all the devices you do and don’t like! Theres so many on the market rn
a spin brush with the silicone head had my skin the clearest it had been since youth, i’ve been contemplating trying it again
I still use my Clarisonic, I get replacement brush heads from Amazon no issues I love it!
But why
This was a great video. Not only did it discuss the Clarisonic, my favorite beauty device to this day, but it also taught me something new. I was today years old when I found out one of my favorite brands, Youth to the People, was acquired by L’Oréal. That’s really disappointing to hear.
This gave me all the flashbacks to high school me trying to get my face together haha
Wow, I had completely forgotten about Clarasonic. What an age that was
I still have my Clarisonic and love it. Amazon has knock off brushes and I always soak the brush head after I use it. I let it soak in hydrogen peroxide
The Clarisonic makeup brush was SO underrated!! I loved it so much RIP 😢
I still have mine. I don't use it very often but I still have it. I also have replacement heads.
I got one of those knock offs from Amazon and it got stuck in my hair once and ripped the front of my hair out😂
Holy shit.
Omfg 😂😂😭😭😅
LMAO WHAT…new fear unlocked!! Did it hurt a lot? I hope it grew back
Well…this validates my paranoia 😅
I’m sorry that happened to you!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I work for Lancôme, I was given a Clarisonic after the training and then was given another after meeting my targets. They were a great device to use at the time.
I loved Clarisonic so much when I got mine sometime in the 2010s. It felt like I was getting a better clean and my products were being absorbed better. It broke my heart when they changed the brushes.
Now I'm in esthetician school and I realize all the Clarisonic did was exfoliate me daily. I didn't exfoliate before that. 😅
Your voice is so soothing, it literally relaxes me
Right ? I don’t even use skincare im just here for the relaxing voice 😂
I loved my Foreo Luna mini. They also make a great electric toothbrush!
Nothing was better than the clarisonic for blackheads.I still order new ones from current body
I’m going to school for dermatology and I thoroughly enjoy all of your content! ☺️ your skin always looks on✨ fleek ✨
😂😂😂😂😂
I loved my Clarisonics. I notice small bumps forming around my hairline and ears many years ago. I bought a Clarisonic and they quickly disappeared. I am sure it was the exfoliation that helped. Back then, foaming facial cleanser didn’t seem to do well along the hairline at removing makeup and hair products. My Clarisonic did a great job though. I also loved that the company offered free engraving. So sad no other company continued the product.
my skin is screaming in ptsd looking at the pictures of the brush heads lol
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED LOVED LOVE my Clarisonic! I miss it SO SO SO MUCH!
I still have the original Clarisonic. It’s awesome!
I still have my Clarisonic ❤.
I love my clarisonic for getting makeup off. ❤ sometimes a cotton pad and micellar just isn't enough. The "delicate" brush was the best
Started re-using mine and I still love it. My skin is back. I use it with my Chanel cleanser. Why did I ever stop? It’s awesome 🤩
I bulk brought 50 heads when they closed. Still the best product I’ve ever used. I’m convinced they were shut down because they were damaging the skin care market.
Lmao
I never bought the Clarisonic, because of the price and am using the Foreo Luna Fofo now. I didn't even know the Clarisonic was discontinued. I guess I didn't miss out on anything after watching this video.🤭Thank you for comparing the Clarisonic Mia to Foreo for us.😊
Omg yes! I worked for ulta and they pushed the Clarisonic, left for 6 months, came back and the clarisonic was like a Mandela effect. It totally disappeared
😂
I have the Mia 3 that I got in 2016… I still use it to this day. My charge lasts for about 2 weeks even though I use *I everyday. I’ve never had problems with it but I also like baby it and dry of off. I also don’t repurchase brush heads very often. I wash the brush heads with an antibacterial soap after cleansing then leave the brush head on my windowsill to dry completely until my next use. I love that thing.
Oh wow. I still have my OG Clarisonic tucked away somewhere. I didn’t realise it was now this old!
I have several backups, I will never be without my Clarisonic!
Omg! The flood of memories that came to me when I saw your video. I worked at Nordstrom at the time these were pretty huge.
I am definitely a Foreo convert from Clarisonic. It’s so good.
Thank You
This is a good question, my partner is bearded and i never know exactly what's good or no.
I remember feeling so confident in that thing. It felt so scientific and clean!
Wow your freshly cleansed skin is brilliant
I still have the Smart Clarisonic and I love it. I buy off brand brushes now that work just fine.
I love it! ☺️❤️
Worked amazing for me and cleaned my skin way better than I could with my hands. Cleared up my acne.
The killer contraption around that new world of at-home electronic grooming was the Epilady! Holy h@ll, Batman! 😱
But I ❤️❤️❤️’d my Clarisonic!
As someone with oily skin the Clarisonic was key for me having clear skin. When they discontinued it I had trouble finding a replacement. The silicone doesn’t break through the oil like the Clarisonic did. I do double cleanse now but it really isn’t the same as I am now touching my face a lot.
