first of all, i love that shirt. really good-lookin shirt. second: thanks for watching my video!! i promise the next one is a little bit worse, to restore some balance. third: yeah, mostly nobody'd hesitate to call "a long vacaction" "city pop". sonically it's not exactly similar to the huge amount of music that we immediately recognize as sounding like "city pop". HOWEVER, given its position in history, the western inspiration in the songwriting, the extreme intricate audiophile meticulousness of its production, its massive influence on other future city pop artists, and the fact that that cover art aesthetic just became THE go-to for city pop, it 500% earns the label retroactively.
Thanks for stopping by! 1. Thanks for noticing; I just got it actually. It's a Pact Sundown Button-Up. Very lightweight and 100% cotton, so an excellent summer shirt. 2. No, man. Thank you for making something beautiful and pure. 3. Cool. I'm a city pop neophyte but am enjoying it so far.
@@CGQPlus interestingly i was just talking to a friend about city pop--we were scrolling down the official "this is city pop" playlist on spotify, debating whether or not such-and-such song was Actual City Pop. that playlist didn't have any eiichi ohtaki, though it DID have a bunch of idol music i personally would NEVER call city pop. so maybe i have been, uhh, Priced Out (?) of My Own Expertise (??) by Today's Youth (?????). a confusion cornucopia. so encountering your video only an hour after that conversation was interesting! in summary, if you'd like to be more like me than Today's Youth (lol), please make "Aventure" the first Taeko Ohnuki album you listen to. not the one with the song on it that has somehow accumulated like 300 million youtube views. i mean, that one's great, though "Aventure" is exactly what starts playing in *my* head when someone says "City Pop". and let's face it: at this point, it probably always will be. also, i sure do love this game. i must have played it for 20 hours longer than i needed to for the clips i used in my video, lol
I’d be curious to know the bona fides of whoever put the playlist together. Thanks for the recommendation! How would you rate First Light by Makoto Matsushita? I heard the title track on a Tidal playlist and ended up enjoying the whole album.
I used to be a Technical Instructor for a helicopter company and NOTAMs are actually really important in aviation. The easiest way to understand them is that they're almost always used with the President is flying somewhere to restrict airspace to make room for Air Force 1, but without broadcasting the sensitive info about the president's whereabouts to everyone in advance, which would be an obvious security threat. They're used for plenty of other reasons, but that's a super easy way to grasp them.
Loving the Weekend Rental series. I also enjoy your videos overall as there is seemingly always something that comes up where I go "What the hell is that?!?" and discover something I had zero clue existed. Same goes with Dr. Sparkle of Chrontendo fame. As always take care and keep on truckin'.
Dude I'm dying at ..."I didn't like that intro at all"... this is why you are still my favorite Chris.. this dude is as straight forward as it gets.. never disappointed
I found out about Tim Rogers through one of your recent HMQFY episodes where you mentioned Boku No Natsuyasumi (so thank you for that). I completely agree with the level of praise you give - it's certainly well-deserved. I really wish I would've known about him during Covid lockdown.
I hope you’re unexpected hot air balloon knowledge becomes an impromptu discussion between you and Coury during a future podcast episode, Chris, haha! Thanks for another really enjoyable watch
Chris! I'm getting a big kick out of the Weekend Rental Series! RC de Go! episode brought back so many memories. And I got your letter last week, will write a response soon!
On the "hottest new show on RUclips" joke: I think getting people to not take it seriously requires taking it to an extreme. I used to watch a channel years ago that touted being "the only show on the internet"
Recommending YT channels to people usually doesn’t work because our tastes are all so different. This is 2 channels now that you have recommended that I absolutely love. Thanks man!
With short draw distance, it kinda reminds me of Skies of Arcadia, where you fly from one floating island to another.Since you are still in Playstation mood, how about Porsche Challenge next time? Then you can compare the way the Boxster in that game drives (and feels) to your own Porsche Cayman.
I'm such a huge music nerd...are you down with all the great early to mid-90s electronic music like The Future Sound Of London, Global Communication, Speedy J, The Irresistible Force, Autechre, Spacetime Continuum, etc.? For some reason I think they'd be up your alley.
As soon as I saw the art I knew exactly what was going to happen. Anyone who knows Vaporwave and where all those songs are from knows this art very well haha. Too bad BoobToob slapped your wrist, the music is great. I'm learning Japanese because of music like that and other reasons but learning about the artists I like is a big one!
Protip: pull up the OST for this game in a separate tab and get it going in the background :)
Yes, excellent tip.
This actually worked. Fun and relaxing video

EXACTLY! Damnit, I should have used that quote. Actually, I'll use it in the text review for the game.

Amazed that I am still learning about games I didn't know existed, nice video
Love this series.... just catching up!
My favourite Tim video at Kotuka was for Red Dead Redemption. The Red, The Dead and the Redeemed.
I appreciate the effort you put into all your content, Chris. It always shows!
that star light zone at the start hit me hard
I didnt think my day could get any better, and now a CGQ+ vid is here.
Always love these casual videos that you do. Your channels have been a huge inspiration and encouraged me to make a channel!
That’s awesome, thank you!
@@CGQPlus Also, I learned about Tim Rogers from listening to your podcast. So thanks for that as well!
For what it's worth RUclips did notify me of the RC de GO video. I enjoyed it - never played it and it reminds me a lot of RC Pro Am.
always great to watch one of your new videos
Man I totally love that intro!
Cool game. Thanks very much for the translation guide. Will be interested to try this game out!
Happy 4rth CGQ+
You too!
I hope you’re unexpected hot air balloon knowledge becomes an impromptu discussion between you and Coury during a future podcast episode, Chris, haha! Thanks for another really enjoyable watch
Actually, I'm still working on the text review of this game, and it tells the whole story of why I know stuff about hot air balloons. Stay tuned!
@@CGQPlus I'm looking forward to that!

Ah, good. Glad it made it!
"Third day of triple-digit temperatures" really freaked me out. I always forget you guys, south of the border, use fahrenheit.
Happy 10 year anniversary in a few days
Thanks!

Classic Gaming Quarterly: The Internet's ONLY show dedicated to video games.
Another great video!! This is a fun series.
I understand why nobody travels by balloon anymore, this shit ain't easy!!!
I developed a taste for barley tea in Korea while teaching English. They call it boricha.

Should play this while listening to Scorpions.

Cool game ❤
Love Tim Rogers videos, Sean Seanson also does some good really long videos as well. His are all Playstation videos.
Longest intro ever! lol never change Chris!
Yeah that was pretty bad.
P.S. " Rambo 3 .. eventually"😂😂😂
So much nicer to listen to then Try from MLiG. 🤣🤣🤣
ePSXe isn’t great. Duckstation is the way to go. Probably the best emulator out there for anything.

Glad to hear the review of Boku No Natsuyasumi is affecting other people in a similar way. Thanks Chris!

You look trim, and spry.
How weird am I for noticing?
Nice editing btw
That would be nice. I don't own a scale so I don't know, but I've been eating better and am laying off the alcohol. Thanks!
@@CGQPlus as long as you're happy...I'm a fat daddy in Cincinnati.
Lol happy 4th of July to you guys on the west side
