    I'm not a country music guy so it was amusing when I saw a cowboy boot hitting the buttons for the first time ever lol!

      Lol. I’m not a country music guy either. I just like the boots. Plus if you’re gonna play guitar in Texas and make any money you gotta do the country thing here and there! I mean it’s Texas. Unless you’re in Austin, which is dope. It’s like a different planet.

    Thanks for creating this video, as it's nice to see how you implement the expression pedal.

      Thanks! I’m glad this video is still proving useful to people. This is such a fantastic piece of gear. I’ve sold lots of pedals since making this video but not this one! No way. Desert island pedal for sure.

      @@GlennWallaceMusic I’m new to this pedal... spent too many years buying too many overdrive pedals in the search for great tone when what I really needed was the Flint!

      Thanks! What I’m doing here is something that’s probably most useful in a live setting, this lets you keep long reverb tails going while transitioning into a part of the song that doesn’t need them. This way your big pretty verb trails aren’t abruptly cut off, but the next part of the song that doesn’t need them isn’t over run with massive verb. Hope that makes sense

  • @guitarelic
    @guitarelic Год назад

    That was very cool 👍🏻
    I managed to turn on the trail mode its great, but I cant manage to get the exp pedal to read the flint I used the same steps so many times, but the exp pedal its just not controlling anything.
    Its an old Boss PW10, maybe that's the reason 😅

    Dude! I have a Dunlop mini coming my way and I’m definitely doing this!

    • @GlennWallaceMusic
      @GlennWallaceMusic  6 лет назад +1

      Hovik Mekhjian thanks! Glad it helped. I think this is a great way to use this pedal that is often overlooked. People just tend to go for the Big Sky or Blue sky, both are amazing verb pedals, but I believe this one can do a lot of the stuff those can (blue sky at least) plus tremolo. There is just no shimmer reverb, but I'm not really a fan of shimmer reverb anyways. These little mini strymon pedals can do a plethora of different things due to the ability to set the expression pedal to any knob. It's a lot of fun to set the expression pedal to the tremolo rate or intensity as well. Enjoy! Thanks for the view and the comment!

    Is this basically the same tremolo that is on Mobius (with a few less features)? This has been my belief for long, just curious. Very happy with the harmonic setting especially on my Mobius. Combined with the spring from Bluesky I can play happy all night. cheers!

    • @GlennWallaceMusic
      @GlennWallaceMusic  3 года назад +2

      I’m actually not sure. That would be a question for Strymon. In my experience pedals that usually do more sometimes don’t execute the sound quite the same as the pedal that specializes in just the one effect, but I don’t have that much experience with the mobius and the guys from Strymon are mad scientists so….it’s possible!

    • @shredx81
      @shredx81 3 года назад +1

      I think the non-midi pedals have unique algorithms to their larger counterparts.
      I think some of it might be the tweakability, where the limited function of the smaller pedals is compensated by Strymon dialling in an optimised, specific flavour.
      I think I preferred the overall sound of the El Cap, than the tape delay setting on my Timeline. El Cap had different tape heads and reverb also.

    With the left mono out, it gets a electrical noise when hitting the reverb or tremolo. But If I use the right for mono out, the little noise dissapears. Have you ever experience it? I see you use the right output, too.

    • @GlennWallaceMusic
      @GlennWallaceMusic  6 лет назад +1

      I've never had this happen, hopefully its not your input on the strymon, all though if it was I bet strymon would work with you to get it fixed. They have really good quality control and customer service. Check to see if your pedal is in stereo mode, if it is and you're running mono that could be the reason. You have to open the pedal up to change it. Here's a link

      @@GlennWallaceMusic thanks a lot. My friends told me if the mod-kind padels like reverbs or delays, they had better be put int o fx loop if there were something wrong in front of amp. I tried it, and it works!

      That said it depends on different amps that has different electric input something #@^× ....., whatever it works.

    Hey Glenn. Why no stereo?! Isn’t tremolo in stereo much better and more powerful? Is it possible to prefer mono?!

    Any difference between Flint V1 vs V2 sound wise? I don’t have a flint yet so it’s either a used V1 or a new V2. Without considering price, which would be better? (Sound wise)

    Is the sustaining reverb effect you've got going on around 6:10 due to your trails mode and decay knob on your strymon? You swell up, keep the volume pedal on all the way, and then turn off the reverb and you can get this to happen? Or do I need the Earthquaker pedal as well?

    • @GlennWallaceMusic
      @GlennWallaceMusic  6 лет назад

      Chris Seymour that's right. The dispatch master adds a little delay and verb to everything I'm playing after I shut it off but the sustain from before is coming from the flint. Thanks for subscribing! You got me to 200!

    Hey man! Great demo. I just bought a Moog ep3 expression pedal and I'm trying to do the same as you. Everything works except that the decay on the flint is not infinite when I use the ep3.. It is when I'm not using the expression though. What am I doing wrong? Hope you are safe during these weird times. K

    • @GlennWallaceMusic
      @GlennWallaceMusic  4 года назад

      kajsaljo depends on which setting you have on. The 70s and 80s ones should be infinite with the decay turned up all the way and the mix past 12 o clock. Try putting your delay before the verb. The 60s reverb is not infinite on the flint. Thanks!
