If i had to guess, the baseball launcher was copy-pasted from the Laser Gatling gun (uses the fusion core reload) and while its ammo count was changed, the number of shots fired in a V.A.T.S. round wasn't. leading to the hilarious result of shooting more ammo than what the maximum "core" ammo counter has before reloading
@@BarbarianGod It is. If you watch at 20:34 when Jon reloads it takes 3 off the inventory and puts 9 in the magazine. You pick up 6 more than you used to reload. And it also costs the same action points in VATS as the Gatling Laser (30 AP), so in VATS it's a Gatling Laser which deals 82 base damage per shot instead of 14 base damage per shot... It's essentially six times as powerful as the base Gatling Laser, but you can get it before level 30. Absolutely moronic that Bethesda considers this Creation Club content to be good enough to include in the base game.
My biggest gripe with almost all of the creation club content is the way it's shoved into the game and doesn't fit naturally. The "quest" giving the content are almost always overly-simple and the weapons and equipment are almost always overpowered.
To further demonstrate Bethesda's laziness, Marvin didn't die to his own Piggy Bank Launcher. The game plants Piggy Bank mines on the fire escape to ambush the player, but Marvin and his goons aren't immune to them. So if you shoot at them and they come looking for you, they'll naturally come down the fire escape and run into their own mines. That's how Marvin died when Jon wasn't looking. I know, because the exact same thing happened in my playthrough, only I was on the other side of the building when it happened, so I got to see it.
Wait. Wait wait I... I genuinly did not think it could be that bad. Genuinly him dying from the Piggie Bank Launcher makes some sense because hey se see an enemy and the Piggy Bank hits the steps. But this I...

My game crashed on PS5 today then I was met with the ever terrifying message "Save data corrupted" and it was ALL of my save data. I got lucky with having backups but that could really ruin someone's day.
That also happened to me today. Game has crashed a handful of times but not often enough to be truly annoying since it would then allow me to play at least 10 hours before it happened again
Same 😂 I almost died if my save was gone I would never play again and I was like 30 hours in luckily it auto updates backups so was So lucky 😂. Also I've encountered some random quest bugs upon researching they where part of the original release and some have never been fixed luckily nothing game breaking but they haven't done much on patching any old bugs out in new version that's for sure
Their creation club gear does generally tend to alternate between "so statistically bad it's not worth using outside cosmetics" and "so OP you feel bad using it". Seems the swung towards the latter with these. Love the whole "Jon killed Pyro, now he's been hunted for Pyro's armor, which he didn't take". Feels like the premise to a comedy movie.
Yeah, they did the same thing with Skyrim for their "special anniversary update". All of the Creation club content for free, essentially. Whether you wanted it or not. Oh yeah, and fishing. [At least, though, the Skyrim CC is mostly okay content. FO4 CC is mostly nonsense].
They still didn't fix the debris bug, if you have an RTX card having debris on will crash your game... In fact all Bethesda has done is reintroduce bugs that mods had fixed.
I'm gonna steal a comment left on one of the Digital Foundry videos about this topic "The weapon debris is achieved via FleX - one of Nvidia's crappy, proprietary technologies designed to shill their cards. Nvidia abandoned it a long time ago, with the final 1.2 beta release being in mid-2017. It is very likely not within Bethesda's power to fix it. It was an Nvidia technology that they simply implemented into their game. Nvidia dropped support for it after Pascal, so really the only thing Bethesda could do is rip it out entirely. But that would be far more work and likely break other stuff (not to mention remove it for people with older cards that can still run it), so that's not really realistic." So yeah not "technically" Bethesda's fault but realistically they should have put in some sort of protocol to detect your current GPU and block the feature on any incompatible cards
Not only reintroduce (i only use STS) but added more. Buildings and plants floating, I clipped through a building near The Castle which has never happened before and Dr. Penske and Tina have "The Ghoul " TM fake tan. Using a PS5.

@@notreallydaedalus probably cause Bethesda still gets $$$ From the sells made on the creation club. And hence would / should be responsible for things
@notreallydaedalus because it was. Some Creation Club content was created by modders, but they are doing so in behest of Bethesda. They get paid by Bethesda to make content for the games, thereby its ultimately made by Bethesda, the same as Fallout 4 was made by Bethesda. A dev team might have made Fallout 4, but they did so as Bethesda employees and under contract with the company, therefore it was made by Bethesda. I'm not saying the Creation Club is great, but people calling it 'paid mods' are objectively wrong. It's official Bethesda content made by people working as employees of Bethesda, just working as contractors rather than as salaried employee. If that's 'paid mods' then any DLC is 'Paid mods'. Far harbor is a 'paid mod', only made internally rather than by contractors.
When i first heard about this i thought it would be similar to the Witcher 3 next gen update. Utilizing all the next gen hardware capabilities. This is barely an update, let alone next gen.
Baffling that it can be considered an update to begin with, a halfassed texture pack looks better, some halfassed weapon and quest mods do more, add more and are more enjoyable. It's genuinely amazing Bethesda somehow through some sort of miracle lower the expectations bar even lower than it ever was.
They have changed, though. The success of Skyrim seems to be what did it. They got lazy and greedy after that landed so well that they could repackage and resell it 87 ways.
This felt like a rushed "we need to do something 'substantial' to coincide with the TV show, because lots of people are going to be flooding to our games!" The results of which - Broke a lot of mods (Specifically ones requiring F4SE/Buffout), caused more bugs while also not fixing others still in game (shocker), flipped the switch on some creation club content from paid to free, and most damning of all (at least for me): caused the delay of Fallout - London by an indeterminate amount of time. Also, one of the most bizarre things out of a supposed "next gen update" is how the game *STILL* cannot be run at higher than 75-80 fps *without a mod to fix it* because the physics straight up break past that point. I can only run the game in windowed borderless (which causes the game to hard cap itself at 48fps for some bizarre reason), or in fullscreen with my NVidia settings FORCING the game to run at 75fps. This entire update was extremely poorly thought out, which honestly at this point, feels kind of par for the course for Bethesda...
It wasn't rushed though, they were working on it for two years. People make amazing indie games from scratch in that time, whereas Bethesda failed to deliver an update that works and has any thought put into it. It's ridiculous.
The next gen update is a convenient scapegoat for the fallout london team. It’s like all these fan made projects they announce a release then some circumstance pushes it back a year, see skyblivion, skywind etc.
@@AiphosGaming FOLON announced their release date long before the Next-Gen update was announced, and they have a pre-update version ready to go if the update broke it too badly.
I literally cannot start the game now. The opening 'didn't we do a neat thing?' message appears on my screen, my mouse cuts out and I cannot click past the Okay part.
Doki had this problem, so what happened is your game is set to controller so you need to plug in a controller to get past it, than go to options an switch it to key board an mouse, make sure you back out an save, Dokibird had the same issue.
anyone who uses the word "neat" to describe cool think they're super but are definitely not cool> This has been BGS since F4 released and probably even before
Funny thing: If you clear Monsignor Plaza before you read that terminal in Suggs' shop, Marvin and his unique weapons aren't there, and then they spawn in when you read that terminal.
Biggest issue I have here is how they've just thrown The Enclave in for the sake of having The Enclave in the game. They're just against the player for no established or logical reason, The Enclave had access to a lot of Vault data and arent entirely out of the loop, so it makes no sense that when meeting the Sole Survivor they'd kill them over a power suit being one of the purposes of the control vaults was to store people for the Enclave to collect as needed post-apocolypse that were free from radiation. The Sole Survivor is their perfectly preserved pie, it would make more sense if they arrested the sole survivor, interrogated them about Vault 111, and then the player would have to break out of an Enclave base afterwards, finding the new items on their way out.
Hell, they spent 2 years on this stuff. They could have added the Enclave as a more evil BOS full on faction with an eventual mission involving the Institute where your goal is to capture as many of them as possible as many of them are people who haven't been exposed to the wasteland much.
These are honestly very Bethesda in function; contextless, storyless content that gets you missions themed around "go place, shoot guy", with a reward that _is_ in fact very cool and kind of overpowered but which serves only the nostalgia factor and the ability to go more place shoot more guy.
You've summed up perfectly what my biggest problem with FO4 in general is, the thing that stops me from loving the game as much as I'd like to. The idea that a supposed update they'd been 'working on' for 2 years is just more of that chucked in randomly is deeply, deeply disappointing.
I feel like you haven’t watched MATN if you think Bethesda is this shallow. Creation club quests are always this garbage. Bethesda quests are on the surface, quite similar, but if you choose to (since Bethesda is very big on “get involved as you want to in the story”) you can get a lot more out of every location than “go there, shoot guy”. It won’t textwall at you like new Vegas does trying to explain why it’s clever, it lets you figure that out for yourself if you choose to. With CC quests, there is no deeper meaning to get involved in, it literally is “go there, shoot guy, read terminal for bare minimum to justify the plot”

What a shocker. Instead of getting a release that had the potential to be better than the base game, we get a bunch of useless shit that broke existing mods. Yay.
There was a short teaser mod on nexus but alas bethessie did it again, fallout London is taking its sweet times because they kinda poach these high class ( basically rewiting the whole game type stuff)modders to design the games and hopefully fo5 . Ovbiously I'm skeptical of it but I do have good faith because there's whispers all the time of oh that mod won't be happening cos so n so went to x game company
I can't believe Bethesda is forcing these CC mods on players. In addition to adding more clutter to the game, potentially straining older systems, each CC mod has .BA2 archives, and there is a .BA2 plugin limit of 250, so some people have hit the limit just because of the update. You have to manually delete CC mod files to remove them, you can't just deselect the mods in a mod manager, and the latest version of Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch, which is essential for a heavily modded game, actually requires all the CC mods from the update to be installed! The only solution I know of is Buffout 4 has an "experimental" option to disable the archive limit, which sometimes works for me and sometimes doesn't. Seriously Bethesda, we want more OPTIONS not forced content!
I have avoided adding CC content to my Xbox game for years since they basically broke my original PS4 game. When Covid happened I bought a decent gaming laptop with thr first stimulus check and have never looked back but I still occasionally enjoy just playing on Xbox. Nowadays it’s XBox S series.
Having the CC content auto-start is awful... Totally ruins the emerge from the vault moment. There was a mod called Creation Club Delayed that tackled all the old content and made it appear more naturally. Hope he updates for the new stuff!
The new content needs to have a level requirement for when it becomes available, and i feel like the Tesla canon would have made more sense using Fusion Cores and being more powerful

They definitely shouldn't've given the update the hype name... EDIT: Hmm. Looks like the Baseball Launcher is shooting all 9 in VATS, but when you reload it only takes 6 out of your pack, despite filling the magazine back up to 9 - meaning a net gain of 3 if you pick up all of your baseballs. Neat.
It's loading 9 but only taking 3 out of your store. 20:34 you can see the numbers. So you pick up an extra 6 each time. Watching further at 27:24 the load and deductions actually match so it's either conditional (power armour) or they patched it quickly.
Wait, so not only is the amount reloaded off by six baseballs, it spawns something around an additional eight baseballs when fired in VATS (I counted at 0.25x). So this thing is spawning something like fourteen baseballs when you fire it in VATS, in addition to getting back your original three baseballs. It Just Works.
It seems like the baseball launcher is shooting 17 baseballs per VATS round? I want to say 18 because that would make more sense considering the original capacity of 9, but no, I counted multiple times and each time got 17, not 18. Maybe one is silent or something

This is the behavior I point to when people ask “what has Bethesda done that makes you doubt future game releases” - it’s this tone deaf way of acting that does it. Issuing updates when they want to hawk new garbage and completely ignoring the community members like they haven’t kept the game alive for years with their free content. Not even giving them a courtesy heads up or working with them? Bethesda has continuously ignored unofficial patch update fixes and things like the modded ultra wide support in favor of either doing nothing or making a shittier version. It’s completely avoidable but they act like they’ve done everyone a huge favor releasing this crap.

People who have never played a fallout game suddenly wanting to play because of the show. Also take into consideration that a lot of people don't like playing "older" games - and FO4 is almost 10 years old. That's a huge change I'm very happy with. But I really hope they fix whatever is breaking the mods page, I can't download anything and Bethesda hasn't said a word about it yet.
I don't know if I should call my fault or Bethesda's fault but I killed the Pyro guy at level 7 with a sneaky shot to the fusion core and found myself wearing the Hellfire power armor at level 7, leading into the rest of the Enclave line and I was totally OP before level 10. Between the X-02 suits the Hellfire suits and the weapons I was able to pick up, nothing can touch me anymore. Kind of broken to me.

bethesda has not mentioned anything related to lighting but on my PS4 the lighting in the game is different and causes the terrain to become very dark and often times makes it impossible to see enemies if they have any type of terrain behind them and ive also noticed that the shadow quality has been enhanced to like smooth rather than the pixelated mess that it had been for so long but with this lighting and shadow change the game is borderline unplayable due difficulties seeing anything and intense eye strain caused by the changes that werent even mentioned and atleast on the PS4 version there is no way to change the games brightness or lighting settings
top tip: gog version doesn't force the update. Nothing can harm your mod stack. And you can have as many installations as you want. Bethesda has some really annoying (because pointless) updates recently.

The baseball thing reminds me of the bug with the Harpoon Launcher that if you use the Flechette ammo mod for it hits make the body have extra ammo in them when you loot them.
Bethesda's attempt at adding the Enclave is just embarrassing. A couple of enemy camps to shoot and loot, no story, and no logical connection to the player. Meanwhile the fan-created mod America Rising adds a fully voiced expansion that adds the Enclave as a joinable faction and an alternate path to completing the main story that makes logical sense. Oh, Jon, any plans on doing a playthough of America Rising 2 for the channel?
you can already get so many cool weapons on Nexus. I just downloaded an awesome handmade revolver after the weapons expert guy from the Royal arsenal museum (or whatever) said it was pretty cool and actually not unrealistic. The piggy bank launcher is the kind of idiotic novelty I would never use, same for the grenade launcher with a silencer. Again, you can get any number of cool weapon mods already, even in console. I could care less about all the Enclave content that’s just going to be more of the same crap CC “content” without any significant or intersting non-voice-acted quests. This was so not worth ruining my PC game in which I was finally experiencing a bug-free playthru of SS2 after they did some major patching. The ass-kicker is I had Steam set to update only on launch and I only *ever* launch thru Vortex via f4se but somehow, a couple of days ago, my game updated anyway. I’m livid. So I figure I’ll try to install all three chapters of SS2 on my Xbox S series in spite of the idiotic 2g limit only to find a bug in which my storage is set to 0 free space in spite of having no mods installed. I’m really bummed out by this pointless update. Oh yeah, and VATS is acting like I have the perk where you can shoot VATS thru walls. Except I can’t.
The other way to "duplicate" ammo, is if you have something that shoots reusable ammo (like the harpoon launcher) is to get a legendary Two-Shot version of the weapon. It will duplicate ammo, creating more than you started with... Not that their hard to find, or buy. But it does work. I put the bowling ball launcher mod on a two-shot Fatman (not permanently) in order to duplicate bowling balls for it, since there are a semi-finite number of bowling balls to be found to create ammo with. And occasionally, they DO go flying off to the Capital Wasteland after being fired.
20:45 I think new baseballs=(9-number to kill) in VATS. I don't know *how* they did that, but they did it. Edit: at 27:22, after using VATS, you fired 17 baseballs. The magazine size is 9. The game just spawns in additional baseballs in VATS beyond what you even need to kill the targets. Maybe it was supposed to originally be 17 baseballs instead of 9 and they never fixed it? Or maybe it's Bethesda and it just (doesn't) work.

They still didn't fix the debris bug, if you have an RTX card having debris on will crash your game... In fact all Bethesda has done is reintroduce bugs that mods had fixed.
And broke the mods that fixed things
I'm gonna steal a comment left on one of the Digital Foundry videos about this topic
"The weapon debris is achieved via FleX - one of Nvidia's crappy, proprietary technologies designed to shill their cards. But that would be far more work and likely break other stuff (not to mention remove it for people with older cards that can still run it), so that's not really realistic."
So yeah not "technically" Bethesda's fault but realistically they should have put in some sort of protocol to detect your current GPU and block the feature on any incompatible cards

Right I liked seeing mods from 2017 as New lol

The results of which - Broke a lot of mods (Specifically ones requiring F4SE/Buffout), caused more bugs while also not fixing others still in game (shocker), flipped the switch on some creation club content from paid to free, and most damning of all (at least for me): caused the delay of Fallout - London by an indeterminate amount of time.
At least the show's good. We've got that going for us.

Damn thats actually such a good idea im pissed it isn't this 😂
I assumed they put in The Enclave because of the TV show.
the enclave is literally just the bad guys bethesda wheels out everytime they want to nostalgia bait

You forgot that it also broke the radio, meaning you can’t actually listen to the mysterious radio for the all hallows eve quest
upon seeing that baseball dupe a quote came to me "things arent up to the usual fallout standards"
They are mods after all...
the new grenade launcher i got from Suggs' dead body (things went south...) it had a "Nuka" ammo type, so possibly a nuka grenade launder?
Do agree with the random quests dropping out of nowhere. how does the soul survivor know these things? has the cryo-frost improved their intuition?
But Jon, the Halloween mod has a bonnet!
The Gauss-Powered Nail-Gun and Rocket Grenade Launchers are by far the best weapons added by the update. I love them so much they're SO MEAN
Read the included mods and look those mods up for when they were actually released on Nexus...Thank you for the mod Ive had for 6 years...
bethesda has not mentioned anything related to lighting but on my PS4 the lighting in the game is different and causes the terrain to become very dark and often times makes it impossible to see enemies if they have any type of terrain behind them and ive also noticed that the shadow quality has been enhanced to like smooth rather than the pixelated mess that it had been for so long but with this lighting and shadow change the game is borderline unplayable due difficulties seeing anything and intense eye strain caused by the changes that werent even mentioned and atleast on the PS4 version there is no way to change the games brightness or lighting settings
top tip: gog version doesn't force the update. Nothing can harm your mod stack. And you can have as many installations as you want.
Bethesda has some really annoying (because pointless) updates recently.
The next Gen update is going wonderful for me as I never updated, I am on PC so saw no need to update for some quests.
Is there an easy way to downgrade for pc yet?
@@idkwhattohaveasausername5828 there are some guides on steam.
@idkwhattohaveasausername5828 one of the current most popular mods on the nexus does just that!
@@idkwhattohaveasausername5828 I haven't used it, but if you look up 'Simple Fallout 4 Downgrader nexus', you might find what you're looking for.
@@LordDarrenysus downgrades you? I saw some other ways to do it but I don’t think it’s as easy as just downloading the mod
Saw blades aren't an airfoil like a Frisbee. They would be incredibly inaccurate. Though you might be able to inadvertently fire around corners.
“It just works”
You uh, you fire saw blades at high speeds very often? /j
@@donovanfaust3227 I used to game with people with physics degrees. I also make post-apocalyptic weapons and armour as a hobby.
Did cause problems with my GOTY disc (which included ALL DLCs). Was half way through Far Harbour when the upload happened, lost all DLCs and had to reload them which meant any settlements built lost about everything. Had to start a new playthrough!
The very experimental Tesla cannon ... potentially the most op weapon in Fallout.
The baseball thing reminds me of the bug with the Harpoon Launcher that if you use the Flechette ammo mod for it hits make the body have extra ammo in them when you loot them.
I believe all the new quests are just creation club content. So they barely even did much
The theme of fire is a reference to the state of everyones mods right now.
Bethesda did not add the Enclave, a modder added the Enclave as this is a mod and not made by Bethesda.
The best part about the Piggy Bank Launcher is all the caps you can pick up after you use it.
you can already get so many cool weapons on Nexus.
Bethesda the expert company on doing a triple mortal backwards jump, climb a mountain and pinpoint land on a glass of water just to shit their pants when accepting the medal
I respect how Jon's always honest with his reviews no matter what, a rarity these days, but this is definitely gonna ruffle some feathers at Bethesda and hurt his future review copy chances, guess he'll be playing Fallout 5 at the same time as the rest of us lol.
In 2056?
Implying anything new for Fallout games is happening anytime soon
2056 is pretty generous given their track record. The fallout show will likely have like 8 seasons by the time they announce where fallout 5 will take place
Jon has talked crap about stuff Bethesda has done before. Does he do it a lot and as often as the people with hate boners for the company? No, but he's certainly aired his complaints more than some people give him credit for. It's never hurt his relationship with Bethesda before, doubt it will now.
I didn't bother using any of the new weapons in When Pigs Fly because they're either invisible or giant red triangles with exclamation points on them
Is there a way to remove creation club content added to the game via updates?
No. You had to uninstall the game and turn off your Bethesda account before redownloading to get rid of them before this.
The only real issue I’ve had on PS5 is the crashes .. I’ve been playing on the new Gen update for about 20 hours and I’ve had maybe 6 crashes, 1 of em literally just shut my entire console down it was terrifying .. luckily nothing got seriously corrupted from it
It baffles me how they did the dlcs for the game and set those up to unlock over time with actual triggers and then they just decided to go back to the previous games system where they just dump all the quests on you with no context
You do know that these are mods and not created by Bethesda, right?
I'm playing on PS5, the only weird thing I've really noticed is Tina in Vaulr 81 has the wrong face Texture.
10:10 Bold of you to assume Bethesda has been working on it for any amount of signifcant time, plus the extras are just Creation Club stuff.
