As someone who’s pretty much learned the game by making videos about it I’m astonished by the elegance of the system. I’m rather wondering how the hell I missed it over the last decade!
I've been playing KOW for about 6 months. The rules and quickness of play drew me to it. I don't have alot of time to play games and it's easy to get a game in on a weekday. I played a 2300pt game last week and it took around 1.5 hours. If you're busy, but like tabletop games, this is a good option. I would love to play Age of Sigmar and have a Maggotkin army, but I just don't want to invest the time to learn the rules well enough to enjoy the game. The games can also go longer than 2hrs, from what I see at the game store.
Terrain is essential obstacles (walls, hedges etc) or area terrain. Area terrain has height asscoiated with it and is either open, difficult, blocking. Open with height 3? Hill. difficult with height 0 = pond, Height 1=rocky, broken ground, etc, large height and difficult = forest. Tables will generaly include 2 each of obstaceles, hills, flat difficult, forests, impassable.
Thanks for the encouragement! We have 3 more in the pipeline: a beginners game; the $10 prototype game, and an explanation of how scenery works from Tom.
Looks like a really interesting system. Interested in seeing a full battle for sure.

Yes, I've been looking for a suitable war game for a while now, and the straightforward rules and quick game playe make it very attractive to me.
I need a good video detailing Kings of War terrain rules and suggestions on what I need to build for games

Can you explain why the charging hero didn't get double attacks for attacking the flank of the salamanders in abysal turn 1?
Thanks for the question! I’ll get Tom to reply
Individuals dont gain the bonus for flank/rear charges.
@@Krys2289 AHH super cool thanks.new to the game etc.
13:30 it was 11 hits not 12 you missed a 2 between the 6 and 3 by the wall of the box
He does that in real games, too. Usually with my hits. ;-) Lachlan
