Nice job on the video. Just be careful of the two 8mm bolts that hold up the mount in the back (they are not Phillips screws). You will drop them, so be prepared with a flashlight and magnet.
This was so useful! Great job! I am looking for a small video solution to insert into the empty space which is the "not an ashtray" on a 2006 Acura RL. Any suggestions?
Good video. I have a 2008 RL Elite. In Canada, if that makes a difference. Noticable differences so far are that there's a light in the item tray. Also where you say there are phillips screws way back and down, they are a 10mm bolt for mine. However.....I MUST be missing something because I still cannot pull out the unit. It is more loose, but it seems there's something else. I cannot find any documentation, or other videos that deal with this. What I'm needing to do is replace the bulbs behind the "Auto" and "Dual" switch (one bulb). I refuse to go to the dealer because they'll want to charge a lot to take the whole unit out. According to a diagram I found, there's some "center screw" but I can't find it anywhere. There is an additional 3 phillips screws on the frame in front of where the two 10mm bolts are, but even removing those doesn't do anything. Hellllp me!!!
I do not think there are any other mounting screws to hold the unit down. If you have removed all those screws that are shown in the video then you just need to pull the unit forward.
Ok, the problem was that there are four lower screws: two 10mm and two 8mm. The 10mm screws are more obvious, but you want the 8mm ones which are hidden higher up.
Is it possible to add an aux input behind the stereo when you pull it out? I have an Acura RL 2005 and I'm planning on to install an Aux input. Any help?
why? my acura rl 2005 the gps screen does not work it only gives a light similar to the one in your video that I am looking at what will be the problem?

Is it a 8mm you sure ?
@@arielpolanco8888 It is. Just did this 15 minutes ago.
Mine were 10mm
Nevermind. Those 10mm screws were the wrong ones. Wasted an hour on that. The 8mm were hidden above them.
How do you remove the Navigation display?

Same thing here, same exact car(USDM) lol. I just want to replace burnt bulbs, didn't realize I would have to reverse engineer the damn thing lol.

Good tutorial

Yes, normally there is a jack behind the unit for Aux input. Please remove the unit first before ordering the plug for it.
Will you do a video on how to install one?
@@dilrajshergill9323 Were you able to find the aux jack that they talked about?
@@gideonstowell3070 No I did not see one. Instead something much better that doesn't require removing the whole unit
@@dilrajshergill9323 can you elaborate?? I'm in the exact same situation you were what was the fix with it removing it?
awesome thanks!

Most likely your navigation Drive unit in the trunk is faulty.
@@HiTechElectronic do you guys fix faulty navigation units? I have a 05 Acura rl with that problem.
@@caluvme Yes, we do repair them.
