If your vehicle is PAID FOR you are winning the game of life!
House too......
@@ML-lg4ky if you’re doing what makes you happy you are winning the game of life!
Lol not true!
Tell me you can't afford nice stuff without telling me you can afford nice stuff..
@@YanilMiami305 those who can afford nice stuff don’t make payments.
All the warranties in the world won't help you if the companies fight every claim tooth and nail.
And even with a warranty on product, if it's in the shop all the time on warranty work that's no fun.
which they do. They take months deciding if they going to cover it. To many people think they are covered until they need to use the warranty. Than reality hits. You are far better off taking that money you spend on a warranty and saving it, than using it when needed. Instead of taking a gamble on some warranty company.
They don’t fight tooth and nail… it’s all about the dealer you go to
@@handleymacdonald5760 ok, you keep telling yourself that. Dealer makes no difference, your still using same warranty company.
People. You gotta stop buying vehicles at these ridiculous prices or the prices will never go down
Gotta haul groceries though. 😂
@@Tennessee968what groceries? Can’t afford to eat for a while after buying that truck! Lol
😂😂😂😂
Yeah, they'll go right down, lol.
@@NOFBDYBSThey will though. That’s the only reason they’re overpricing them internationally. They know people like the dude in this video will pay for it. 20 years ago people didn’t need to buy the early 2000’s model vehicles because their vehicles from the 90’s were built to last. That’s why back then you could get a brand new full sized fully loaded SUV for less than $45,000 Skip forward 20 years and people buy these vehicles for their “image”. Social media has pushed this narrative of “if you don’t drive a new vehicle you’re broke”, when in reality the people paying for these trucks are the real broke ones.
$1,000 a month is nearly what I pay for my house on an acre lot with a well with infinite perfect water. Don't be so foolish as to spend that much money on a truck. Be serious.
"But muh image"
$1000? do you live in the middle of nowhere in Arkansas
Exactly my thoughts
Buy used vehicles! They need love! And they last longer 😉
Mine is less than that in Florida 😅😅

👍They don’t make them to last anymore!
2000 GMC feel the same.
I have 327,000 miles on my 2001 Suburban and I keep it LIKE NEW so I'll NEVER have to buy one of GM's disasters with AFM and lifters that destroy the engine sometimes right out of the showroom - WHY TAKE THE RISK FOR PRICES IN THE STRATISPHERE?
It’s more reliable.
...these videos are getting to the point where I'm tempted to take a vacation just to drive my car to Scotty to have him personally look at it, as well as review it in it's current state.
Or maybe move from 🇨🇦 to Scottys state. Fir good 😎🍻🛻🎸
I've thought about it!
$1,000/month no thanks I’ll stick to my old rusty vehicles that are paid for and that no one wants to steal
Scotty thinks the same way. He's way too reasonable to blow money like that. 👍
And it won’t take long for rust to mess up your Silverotow

Fuel pump, lifters, valve body, torque converter, cylinder deactivation......etc. No thanks.
EXACTLY, Ask their ceo fairy Mary,
Complete crap, thx Oblozo🤑🤷🏿♂️🤪🤮
@snowsolo I stopped down by my Chevrolet dealer and asked a sales representative exactly what transmission was in it. He could not answer that and I told him if it's the same as in the 24 I didn't want it.
I also heard from a reliable source that my local Chevrolet dealer had purchased a second rollback to Ferry back and forth trucks from a large account that they sold trucks to. Selected dealers with large commercial accounts are getting valve bodies but they're like hens teeth right now.
In the 90s, I bought a lawn tractor from Montgomery Wards with a two-year warranty. Two months later, they went out of business. Got a great deal on the 'tractor' though.
😂
The 6.2L is being looked at closely for a recall due to engine failure.
Theres is a huge recall in the 5.3 and 6.2
Good thing this has the 6.6 no DFM
Spun bearings
Lifters sticking
Good thing this is a 6.6😅
Thé size of pick ups these days is ridiculous. A Ford Ranger is a little bigger than a F-150 was 20 years ago
That's just the body of the vehicle, the interiors are still tiny.
I seen my friends ranger raptor the first time, and i literally thought he bought the full size raptor at first. And i work with a dude who has a real nice Colorado and it looks like a full size truck.
Scotty's laugh at the end is priceless!
I'm a Ford guy but, that's a nice truck.
$67K!? still over priced...
It's ridiculous I paid $18,000 for my first home
Whopper used to be 0.99. It's $7 now 😅. Whats your point? Bruce Lee said nothing in life stays the same
@@karonwells8481
Bruce lee? Lol...that's your life coach qnd moral compass?
Overpriced by 30K. You can thank the unions for the high prices.
That is over twice what that is worth.
Prices still outrageous. Still have my 2008 Volvo XC90. Had it since I bought it on the military program. Yes, maintenance is high but happy no car payments and insurance is lower.
Trucks are def very pricey these days. I am keeping my fully loaded 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 (6.2L)...one quickAss pickup truck. And it's paid off. Never had an issue with it. I bought a canned tuner that turns off the start/stop and cylinder deactivation (and has other programmable mods) when I bought it. So, almost 4.5 years and no issues. Love that color of the 2500...and if I ever to get another truck, would get a 2500 (gasser).
The transmission will be pooping soon. Have fun. Tick tick
With GM you had better buy TWO warranties.
G.M. = garbage machine.
I did
Maybe 10 or 50
With a full size truck you better buy 2 warranties
Ford and Dodge Also…..
In my opinion, all of those fancy electronic display screens are Mighty big distractions. They literally force you to take your eyes off the road to see what the messages are. Go back to analog dials and physical controls.
Agree
SCOTTY I LOVE YOU MAN! I AM NOT DOING WELL, BUT YOU STARTED OFF MY DAY LAUGHING FOR ONCE. THANK YOU!
Love the looks......the horror stories about reliability issues...not so much.
Smart for getting the 2500 with the 6.6 no afm/dod
Loving my 2025 3/4 ton HD custom crew. Big $ down …..$491 a month. Could’ve bought a midsize truck no payments with what I put down. Owned a Tundra for 16 years. Happy with the Chevy
Keep it in good shape and have a runaround car for Dumb Miles, ie Home Depot for light bulbs 🧐
"Everything's digital these days... (trailing voice) that's how it goes..."
You sounded so defeated Scotty.
I agree. Imagine those computer screens going wonky from surfing some sketchy websites?
My mom had a Silverado 2020. Right at 100,000 miles the engine blew up
dang thats a lot of driving for around 4-5 years
Scotty's right 3/4 ton and heavier are 'real' trucks. 1/2 tonners are just big SUVs. I'm guessing Mom's truck was a 1/2 ton. If you want a decent 1/2 ton buy a Tundra
Well played Chevy 😂
@Trucker_Right had to be a work truck and Mom was the busiest woman on the road good for her i guess.
Which engine was in 3020 that blew engine?
Anyone paying that kind of money for a truck has just made an extremely bad financial decision. No one should pay that much for these pieces of crap. That truck is probably not worth even close to half that amount.
No truck or car is worth that much. Unless they are just overly wealthy or pulling heavy trailers all the time, then it might be worth it. I'll just keep driving my 2003 2500hd.
Sure, but some people have a lot more dollars than sense.
I got a 2500....my 99 ford ranger had difficulty towing my tractor
It's his or her money. They can do what they want with it.
Many people are Elon Musk rich and have way to much money so they don't care.
LOL. My wife's car has the heated steering wheel and seats. She loves that! My car has heated seats, but not the wheel. Mine is just the base model. But as an old guy with arthritic hands, I would love to trade the heated seat for a heated wheel. I don't see the need for a heated seat. I find it uncomfortable.
Scotty the kind of guy to simultaneously say that Chevys are crap but the v8 trucks last a long time.
I'll stick with my 2005 Z71, it just turned 100,000 miles, I use wool wax under coating, hope it last me another 20 years. Lol
2001 tahoe z71 with 254000 miles. Bought brand new for 37k. New one is more than double the $$$
Thanks Scotty for not beating the truck up and saying that it’s bad. You really get what you pay for. Trucks these days are so much nicer than even 10 years ago. They are luxury vehicles now because people want that. They are not garbage like some say.
Trucks are not garbage like people say.? The GM trucks are junk. 877,000 blown engines says so. I hope GM goes under
Up here in WNY these frames rust out in two years. They don't paint the frames, they wax them, and you can scrape it off to bare metal in a second with your fingernail.
My dad bought a new 1972 GMC P/U for $3k.
He bought a new 1990 C10 for $11k. I don't think he'd pay $67k for a 2025.
Nor would I, ever.....
2500 is in a class all by itself 😊
I went to my local shop for a transmission fluid change and there were 4 newer model chevy trucks in need of transmissions... Youve pissed the bed chevy but you're not alone.
No there wasn’t, making up stories isn’t cool. Anyone can make up whatever story they want
@@Billybob50119in fact it is true. And the engine are blowing up too. 6.2 pos
@@Billybob50119yeah they are true motors are junk to look it up the 6.2
My 2019 Colorado has served me well... as a 2nd vehicle. And it's paid for 😃
2019 is still practically new
The 3.6 is that is bulletproof....3.6 had a lot of issues to be worked out over the years but by around 2017 they had them all resolved....Now easily make 200K miles with basic maintenance
Silverado 1500 can be purchased at almost half the price of the 67k 2500hd. Only so much truck some people need. The i4 turbo tows 9500lbs so it will handle alot vs double that for the 2500hd. I'd buy the 1500.
The money you save on the 1500, you will have to spend it when the AFM starts to give you problems around 80K miles.
@josebirrero that's why u select the tyrbo max i4 engine. Sure it has afm but I haven't heard 9f any problems with those bending pushrods yet.
I recommend not to buy either one!
@@Kev023-h3k
Idk brother... A truck design for a V8 with a 4 Cylinder turbo?
I rather pay the penalty for worst gas mileage than pray for good things to happen after 60K miles.
It's just too much to ask for that machine.
I have 80k miles on mine. Never had a single issue. Only oil changes every 5k miles.
Mine has 50. Oil changes every 5-6k miles.
I would like to see a cost of ownership comparison of a Chevy 2500 vs a 1500 and a Ford Super Duty vs an F150.
I have the 2020 version paid for when I got it in 2020. Could not be happier. I have a 2005 that I want to replace but can’t figure out what to get. What I really want is the 6.6 L gas engine in a 1/2 ton truck.
The laughs are contagious.....Scotty just loving life....
Be honest Scotty, the 5.3 & 6.2 both are giving tremendous trouble, I'm just waiting on a recall now.
Dont ask him. Scotty is bigger than elvis. He doesnt have time to respond to anyone
Yep they are junk now the 5.3 use to be a solid motor not anymore the 6.2s are junk to
That's the 6.6l he's got
Don't forget to do the recommended maintenance on your vehicle, especially transmission servicing.
Especially on a chevy 😂
Don’t buy it let the dealer sweat.
The only issue I would really have about the truck is its 4 doors. A truck should be 2 door unless its a crew truck or a family hauling truck. The other issue would be the gauges and switches. I like old school switches and dials but I could live with it unless they came out with one old school style
If something goes wrong with those digital gauge clusters, get ready to bend over.
For most ppl a truck with only two doors would require a second vehicle, me included. Maybe if you’re a single dude w no kids etc and never have passengers. Luckily, I think two door trucks are still available.
@@waynejohnstone3685 you can only make that argument stick if you use it allot with 3 or more people on a regular bases and at the same time use the truck part. otherwise just use a suv or a standard car
These "Crew Cabs" are GROCERY GETTERS, and no one is making a full size, single cab truck that one can haul and work with...... I do not want to tow a trailer to purchase plywood and sheetrock......
@@ridgerunner5772 just checked chevys website, you can indeed get a regular cab w long bed. You can also get an extended or crew with long bed.
I’m happy with my Heavy Duty 3/4 ton Diesel.
Bought a 2500hd LT 6.6l gas crew cab, and I love the truck. It's more than I need, and it's overbuilt. It should last me a very long time.
I'm paying over 1k a month to save on paying interest, and it should be paid off in 3-4 years with an active warranty.
Buy what you can afford. This is my first new truck ever. Drove used cars for 30 years, but I'm also a mechanic, and it's time for me to let someone at the dealer handle the wrench.
These things just had a massive recall on the 5.3 and 6.2 lol
Those are only on the 1500 not the 2500
@miltonhernandez4035 they put the V8s in the 2500 also soo it does affect them as well
@@Boltdriver70true but the 2500 doesn’t have the 5.3 or 6.2. They have the 6.6 V8 that doesn’t have the cylinder deactivation or AFM. I’m sure they still may have problems but it’s not the same as the 1500 which has the 5.3 or 6.2.
@@Boltdriver70no the HD trucks only have 6.6 gas or 6.6 diesel since 2020
@@Boltdriver70you’re incorrect.
Kinda reminds me of the early-80's - If you still wanted a 350 V8 from the factory, you had to step up to at least a 3/4-ton Chevy C/K.
I have had 3 Ford Super duties and 2 F150s since the mid or late 90's and never had a single problem beyond normal maintenance. I did have the oil pan rust through on the mid 90's F150 around 2013 or 14. Have had 2 Chevies since 2000, both had numerous electrical problems. Brand new RAM 1500 bought in 2021 and a used RAM bought with 100k miles on it both had electrical problems although not as numerous as Chevy.
The EcoBoost is a pile of crap. Like a 6.0. And 6.4. Ford junk.
So i did exactly what Scotty said not to. Bought a GMC Sierra 1500 with the 2.7 Turbomax and spec similar to the 2500 HD in this video. Also purchased with extended bumper to bumper warranty. Powertrain is flawless. Build quality not so much. I went out of my way to find a US built truck (Ft Wayne Indiana) instead of Canada or Mexico. Build quality is so-so but GM is fixing the problems (albeit slowly) without fighting me so kudos to standing behind the warranty. Best part is it has the same comfort, ride height, heated steering wheel, comfortable bench seats, etc but the fuel economy is legit. 25+ mpg cruising on the highway and no worse then 18 mpg beating on it like Scotty is in the video. If I were a rich man I would certainly go for the 6.6L in the 2500 category but GM doesn't put much incentives on the heavy duties and I got my truck for 42K out the door with incentives so I'm willing to put up with some gremlins. And again this is build quality NOT actual part failures or powertrain problems. The 2.7 Turbo is awesome it has torque for days and pulls like a starving pitbull.
The best engine from GM was the 3800 V6, but their V8 engines are good as well.
Was!.... the 5.3 and 6.2 are junk now be lucky to get 100k out of one
Can’t wait for the stabilitrak message to appear
I had this problem with my Old 07 Avalanche, and it turned out to be just the battery that needed replacing. Thank God I have a good mechanic, he's as good as Scotty!
@@Bertminator damn that's not bad ! but did he know ?
Looked at Rams and Chevys. Visibility is restricted by the high hood and swept windshield. I guess I am gonna have to get a '24 F250 w/ the 7.3. Test drove one and it drove nice enough. Visibility is def better. The 7.3 is plenty ballsey. With the crew cab and long bed, the thing is a beast. May have to go short bed. That's the final choice I gotta make.
"...basketball game in the back seat*???
You've got to be Scotty to say something like that 😂🤣🤣
Around $150,000+ in Australia! And have a rocker issue blowing cylinder number 8
I'm hanging on to my 2007, 3500, 4x4, Ram 6.7l Cummins that's paid for. Don't want the excessive cost/payments and all the electronic fluff/candy gadgets that you know are going to fail as soon as the warranty expires. Can you say BMW, Range Rover, Mercedes, Audi?
No, I am unable to say any of those Hanger Queen words/names.....
The new 6.6 gas is junk. My dad’s engine spun a bearing at 103k and his transmission went out at 60k. The heaviest thing he pulled was a 30 foot camper which is way below the towing capacity. The trans was covered under warranty but the engine is 3k over warranty lol. The engine alone cost 7,800 before labor. Any GM truck built after 2013 is junk imo.
Agree and overpriced JUNK to
Can't believe people still buying them and gm is having alot if fuel pump module problems and gm refuses to come up with a solution either
😢 cry cry cry
By far the best video and information I’ve ever seen on creatine do you have any information on long C
I’ll never get how people are so worried about how other people spend their money. Everyone got different goals, priorities. Spending $1000 on a truck makes you happy you’re winning.
I'll stick with my F350 6.7 4x4 Crew cab long bed. 186k and still like New
Unfortunately that thing won't last long before there is a issue, hopefully nothing with the engine or transmission. Beautiful Truck though.
It's coming
I bought a nice 2023 Nissan Titan 4x4 SV with several added packages. I paid no where close to that and monthly payment is less than half that. It’s a great truck with 400hp v8 and 9 speed trans. It’s a great truck at an actual reasonable price. I realize the truck in this video is a 3/4 ton so it’s not apples to apples, but these days even the half tons are going for close to 70k plus. Oh and came with 5 year/100k bumper to bumper and a 7 year power train warranty.
The truck in this video is a beautiful, nice truck. Will have to say if I’m paying over 60k for a truck, I’d want it to be a 2500.
The 5.6 nissan v8 is bullet proof or was unless they changed something the weak link is there transmissions make sure you have fuild changed and filter at least every 30 to 50k
Holy haibits batman, Scotty's recommending a GM product, surely we should declare a national holiday, love your vids Scotty, cheers 🍻
Nice to see Grampa from the Munsters still kickin.
Totally agree, I am not a GM fan because their cars and SUV’s are crap but I have a 2500 HD work truck and it’s a pretty solid truck!
If he is making payments he is paying way more 67 thousand !!!!

It’s usually 10 15 thousand more if he is financing it
Wouldn't pay that for two of them.

Great video. Good morning my friend good to see you today
I didn't know if you said they can toll a lot or they get towed a lot.
is it part of the lifter recall
Scotty do a review on the diesel options of the Chevy. Mainly the Tahoe and Suburban models.
Even if I'm test driving any vehicle, I never turn the wheel palm up while turning, always hand over hand.
What do you think about the Ford 7.3
My father in law literally got this and he loves it. I also love it but wouldnt pay near that price for one. I love my corrola LE 2025 over 315 miles in one gas tank… 27 dollars for a full tank cant beat that
My 1998 Chevy AWD astro van has never had an issue and was paid off in 04. 437k and in good shape. Couldn't sell me that truck for 20k.
Didn't know that about the 2500 vs the 1500. No cyl deactivation 👍🏼👍🏼
Scotty tells us how you really feel. I get the feeling your hold back😊
Why didn't scotty say anything about the 10 speed transmission? that's definitely gonna be the weakest part of the truck
Thank you very much, my friend, I'll share it soon too
My neighbour has start/stop on his 3.5 ecoboost Ford, boy is this inconfortable, it kicks every time it restarts
Love that Cypress Grey color, but that price is just stupid! 😅
All the new trucks in my neighborhood are Chevy 2500 HDs. They like big Chevys around Fort Worth
So it is better to buy the 2500 rather than the Silverado 1500? Do you feel the same about the F150? Buying the F250 is better?
The 2500 fuel truck doesn't have the v8 that switches to 4 cylinder mode. It's the weak point in the 1500 after 150-180 thousand miles
Definition of contagious enthusiasm. 🎉🎉bravo
Scotty, on clear paved roads am I better to haul in 2or 4 wd?
I just don’t know about the 10 speed. If it was the actual Allison I’d say it be a heck of a truck
What do you think of the Toyota Tacoma TRD
I wouldn’t touch that thing with a 10 foot pole due to all the fuel pump module issues the gas and now diesel engines are being affected by. Driving along and it decides here’s a good place to shut off and not restart.
Plain junk and I wouldn’t pay 1k for it.
Agree
Be honest you couldn’t afford it!!! Bahahaha 😂
I had a 1500 Silverado with 170,000 miles and it ran great sold it as we had three vehicles and Illinois plates are too expensive. Plus we pay $1.40 per gallon more for gas than across the river than Missouri. 🙄
I chose the ‘25 the 6.6 gasser GMC 2500 AT4 Gasser
I'm with you Scottie! I'll wait and buy a used one! Lol!
GM 6.2 liter engine is being investigated for engine failure.
Do you think it will be reliable? So the 2500 is more reliable.
Wait until his engine seizes at highway speeds without warning (which the NHTSA is investigating). Then wait longer because replacement engines aren't even being made right now. Or until the infotainment center cuts out the audio. Or the lifters have issues due to the AFM/DFM. Just wait. Just wait.
I remember townhouses for $85k like 15 years ago
did he mention the size of the engine or the model of transmission or did i miss it? has anyone heard him speak about the newer dodge trucks and what he thinks about them...just curious
6.6 L8T V8 Gasser with 10 speed Allison Transmission! dont think he has talked about the new dodges yet but may be mistaken. Just got the AT4 with this and it is awesome.
@@the_alaskan_outdoorsman7891yeah I got the 2025 duramax and it is a great ride
I front ends look like e.t. I wonder if you stick you finger in the air. Will it light up. And the truck start driving toward you? 😂
What the cylinder deactivation nightmare? When that happens there goes the motor
This is the 6.6L, no AFM system.
Did u mention the bed size
