- In this video we discuss the tonal differences between two dreadnoughts. Rosewood vs Mahogany, both have torrefied Sitka Spruce tops, ebony fretboard and bridge and brand new strings. Let your ears decide.
Demo and video by Josh Washam
Both very nice. quite different. To my ear, the mahogany sounds brighter.
The rosewood, Fuller and more mellow. I don't care for the brightness of new strings. It would be nice to know what they sound like after playing each for a week or so, and giving the strings a chance to settle down.
If you can play like this guy you could probably make a garden rake sound good.. that said beautiful guitars and great comparison video.. both sound great to my ears!
The guitars are beautiful, thank you! And hi to Josh from his Mom's piano tuner! ;-)
I liked the rosewood---both are beautiful guitars
Beautiful guitars rad stuff.Great clarity and low end.
I like the sound of the mahogany. Seems a little louder and open. Both are great!
Listened with headphones. Liked the RW best. I usually prefer Hog-it’s always been my favorite B&S. But I have no doubt , once that Hog D-18 style got 5-6 few years behind her -it would open up and blossom. Nice guitars & nice Shop🇺🇸
