I think the B-side on the Different single, Don't Be Long, shows incredible potential for the upcoming album. It's a 3 and half minute instrumental, but the care for melody is great. If they can put that out as a B-side on a standalone single, what the hell do they have on the album itself?

They have two concepts for the new album and that´s a new way they wanna go, more progressive and experimental i would guess and the other way is like their older stuff, so really hardrock like in the good old 90´s and 2000´s so to speak. It's such a grower of a tune, it's now up there with the best of Band Maid, they have perfected the art of a subtle knockout punch you in the face tunes, there is so much going on, but it's all fantastic and fits together perfectly, what a band!!!

Kanami is a woman who knows rock well. As long as she is a band-made brain, she will succeed. The melody is pop J rock, but the background is completely hard rock. Bass and drums are the lifeline of this band. If it were a safe world this year, Band-Maid would have achieved world domination. Did you see the other two hours of online live?
Fun fact: Kanami said that when she wrote and arranged the song, she did it at full speed instead of slowing it down for them to learn and then speed it up. It was ALWAYS meant to be this fast! And a lot of people are saying that they haven't really done anything like this before are totally forgetting the song Screaming from many years back...which is just as fast and frenetic!
@@johnmatthew102 Yep, but I just love Saiki's sassy vocals in this one. I also like the intro and Miku getting some spotlight time in there. Everyone has an opinion and I respect yours and Bekka's as long as we all agree that Band-Maid is awesome.
@@rickfromtexas4659 You are right there. Saiki's vocals were great at LineCube. Miku's vocals were a little screwed up during Play because she decided to move over to Kanami's microphone midway through the song. Now you hear Kobato vocals in your right ear, the microphone is different than the one she uses, and it's EQ'd for Kanami's voice and her side of the stage. The soundman never knew what hit him. It diminished Miku's background chants during the second half of the song, in my opinion.
You are so right. All five are superb musicians at the top of their game including Miku who under Kanami's instruction has developed into a very competent guitarist and is the perfect little 'showman'. I think Kanami will take them into new areas once things are back to normal. They have already shown they can handle any genre superbly. Viva Band Maid.
Different isn't on the new album. It was recorded at the same time they were recording "Conqueror". The new album will be split - half Band-Maid as we know them, half more experimental. Should be interesting.
I'm sure you realize this but, for other commenters, the version you get on Spotify and the like will have the halves blended together like a traditional album structure. The specifically separated halves are a limited release thing.
From what I understand this is going to be the new opening to season 3 of Log Horizon and the last single at their current record company before signing on to a new one. At least from some comments I've been seeing.
This is a "one off" single for the upcoming Japanese anime Log Horizon Season 3 in January next year. It will not be included in their forthcoming album to be released also in January next year.
Thank you! You nailed it! This is a band, in every sense. This is not a good singer, or a good guitar player with session back-up; there is more than enough of that generic filler. This is a BAND! Every member excelling at what they bring to the whole! A good group recently changed their bass player, and many did not notice. Band-Maid is no such mediocrity; they are a symphony.
Other countries are evolving past the place the US was at during the 80's when music was free to express the frustrations we all live in through METAL.
Hey just want you know you are easily one of my favorite people on RUclips. Also, you are not the only one who reacts like that when listening to Band-Maid (HOW COULD YOU NOT??!). If you are jonesing for Band-Maid while we wait for their new album, I would highly recommend Wonderland and Alone. They are very different for Band-Maid but still amazing. Wonderland is basically Saiki showing that her vocal skills have yet another level they can ascend to, and Alone was the first song Band-Maid ever wrote themselves and has a cool Punk-Rock vibe to it. 100/10 would recommend :).
Do NOT be surprised if one day you come into your studio there and find your Band Maid poster missing. I mean...don't look at me as a suspect....but don't be surprised someone took it. :P

Kanami, Kanami, Kanami, love her guitar. And her songwriting, composing. Kanami puts so many riffs in this like in Puzzle. Love Band Maid. They are in my favorite bands of all time. Also like Nemophila, another great female band from Japan.

They share how DIFFERENT came about,plus a lot of other information about the band. First this song was exclusively made for an anime intro "Log Horizon" will not be in the new album because is the last song with the previous record company. It's a single... well it includes the new instrumental "Don't Be Long" The new album it will have two different type of Band-Maid more progressive stuff and older rock style. It will be awesome.
Some below have already mentioned that this music video has cc/subtitles. I can understand that you didn't realize that since Band-Maid never really put English subtitles in their past MV's before (except maybe The Dragon Cries). The reason this one has subs could be because they are getting more popular (steadily for 7 years) & that perhaps the international fanbase has been asking their management for subs, or they realized that by themselves. Hopefully they will add subs to future MV's. It's a little awkward for non-Japanese speakers to Google the lyrics because it's not sync'd to the video. There have been RUclipsrs who have edited a BM video in the past & added subs to it. This song is also in the anime intro for Log Horizon - Season 3, so you can search for that. The song makes a little more sense when you watch the intro.
More japanese stuff? I recommend +PassCode - "Taking You Out" or "Ray" +Unlucky Morpheus - "Black Pentagram" +Fate Gear - "Headless Goddess" +Mary's Blood - "Marionette" ...and so much more. The fact that this is a anime theme shows how the recognition of them as artists has grown in Japan.I read recently that Miku has been praised for the poetic flow of her lyrics in Japan. FYI, Mr. Rock and Roll this video includes "official" Eng Subs that proves the point.

Some below have already mentioned that this music video has cc/subtitles. I can understand that you didn't realize that since Band-Maid never really put English subtitles in their past MV's before (except maybe The Dragon Cries). The reason this one has subs could be because they are getting more popular (steadily for 7 years) & that perhaps the international fanbase has been asking their management for subs, or they realized that by themselves. Hopefully they will add subs to future MV's. It's a little awkward for non-Japanese speakers to Google the lyrics because it's not sync'd to the video. There have been RUclipsrs who have edited a BM video in the past & added subs to it. This song is also in the anime intro for Log Horizon - Season 3, so you can search for that. The song makes a little more sense when you watch the intro.

The fact that this is a anime theme shows how the recognition of them as artists has grown in Japan.I read recently that Miku has been praised for the poetic flow of her lyrics in Japan. FYI, Mr. Rock and Roll this video includes "official" Eng Subs that proves the point.

1) Love the All Might shirt. It's Plus Ultra as hell.
2) Love Band-Maid. They've thrown me into a DEEP well of Japanese rock and metal that I never want to crawl out of. I already listened to some bands over the years, like Galneryus and Sex Machineguns, but there are so many more to listen to.
