My honorable mention would be Samoa Joe getting abducted by ninjas on live television and nobody seeming all that concerned about it. Even weirder that Joe would acknowledge it when he was in WWE.
@@drunozeko4332 He never dropped the initials "TNA", but during the angle where Akira Tozawa sent ninjas to attack Monday Night RAW, Joe was on commentary, and he advised that the way he'd take down ninjas would be, let them capture him, get taken to their lair, work to undermine them from within before escaping, and then never speaking of it again for legal reasons.
Wow, I literally didn't know that TNA had a match in a venue on fire. That's actually very on brand. Also the crowds response does remind me of happier times Hawk.
Clair Lynch was single-handedly one of the strangest TNA moments, in my opinion. First it starts off with Kaz & Daniels claiming that AJ Styles was cheating on his wife and having an affair with Dixie Carter (of all people). Then a week or two later a supposed drug addicted pregnant woman named Claire Lynch shows up in the Impact Zone with Kaz/Daniels and they all claim that AJ is actually the father of her unborn child. After the IWC discovered this actress’ real name and began harassing her, the storyline was quickly scrapped by TNA as Claire Lynch was taken off TV and her supposed attorney made a one-off appearance to reveal that AJ wasn’t the father and Daniels was the one who was sleeping with her and it was all a ploy by Kaz/Daniels to humiliate AJ.
Definitely true. Hard to narrow down to one "moment" in the storyline. Bad idea aside, they never explained why the F AJ Styles was working with Dixie Carter to help this random drug addict
It's insane that TNA kept the match going while something caught fire in the rafters. They should've stopped immediately unless they wanted to recreate the night club fire that killed people. Why in the hell did they risk the lifes of the audience members? That shit is absolutely beyond me and irresponsable for anyone holding events.
I loved the Revolution James Storm stuff. He couldn't do the Beer Money crap forever. And as an American Southerner here, I knew the character he was going for.
11:04 I think that's David Sahadi. One of the guys in the TNA production truck that made all of the hype packages and promo videos for TNA at the time. I could be wrong though. In all seriousness, respect to Kurt "DON'T LOOK AT MY ASS" Angle for making a fool out of myself. His comedic skits were always funny, even in WWE.
The Perk meets a Flying Elvis sounds like the perfect American tag team I still don't know how Kurt could function on painkillers when I was taking half of one each day for my cracked rib I barely understood how to walk and he was addicted to them by his time in TNA and legitimately had me loving pro wrestling again not just enjoying it
-Samoa Joe being kidnapped by ninjas and said incident never being brought up again (I have my own headcanon to explain it, as I am wont to do when baffling situations manifest) -Dennis "Mideon" Knight interfering in a PPV match and subsequently never being seen again in TNA
Slight correction. That is not the ECW arena. That's the Hammerstein Ballroom which was ECW's 2nd most prominent venue and used for both One Night Stand PPVs.
Omg, this is why I love your videos. Shining a light on some of the strangest TNA moments that I’ve entirely missed over the years. Was loling at the roof being on fire as the wrestlers half-heartedly keep their match going 😂
What about the time Eric Young had brain damage and thought he was the World Champion, and one of his defenses was against Scott Baio on a golf course?
Sadly they still have too much AEW in their DNA. There's almost nothing backstage at all. There's no segments. The promos are short. The matches are loooooooong. A lot of wrestlers have no gimmick or character 😢 I'm watching again lately as there are some bright sparks, but then they have a 15 minute Gresham (who?) vs someone you've never seen before from NXT that you have to fast forward 😢 They don't put any plants in the crowd to get others making noise, so the crowd is silent as modern crowds are, which makes them look small time. The crowds were small in 2014 but some of the audience still made noise and cheered people on and it made even that product look tonnes better than the modern stuff
Mick vs The Champ was classic. Everything from Don West's over the top commentary to Mick's overly exaggerated People's Elbow has me crying laughing to this day when I see or think about it 😂
Ice recently started getting back into wrestling after like 17 years away and your channel has helped me navigate. Watching everything after the fact, I will say wrestling has been as insane as I remember lol. Shuv it ‘fore I smack me one
I was thinking, how about all tna strangest gimmick matches Or maybe all tna gimmick matches, like monsters ball fans revenge shop of horrors, the hawk's favorite: match of 10,000 tacks
I'm a weirdo. I get it. One of the coolest low key awesome things about this dudes videos that just makes me smile? He uses all the footage in reverse so TNA says ANT...
Was the Storm/James segment based on the Netflix version of House of Cards? It had a similar scene, but I can't remember when it aired with reference to the TNA segment.
I was there the night bully put her through the table. And what was amazing was the night before he literally told the audience when we were going to leave, that we had to come back the next night because she was definitely going through the table and we needed to be there to see that. I had tickets for all three nights or four nights over how long they were doing it for that taping So that was really cool. I love seeing them when they're here in New York City. It's actually a really fun show. Also at the time the bro mans were the number one Merch sellers for them which I had no idea they were so over
Back when I was hacking DirecTV access cards, we'd watch those weekly TNA PPVs. If you think AEW is miscombobulated...the TNAPPVs have them beat in spades.
If there's anything I can say about TNA/Impact, the strange stuff they did at least caused some eyes to look at the company. Be it good...or downright "WTF?!".

The strangest thing for me is how TNA misused its talents, I mean think of some of the story lines for AJ, Eli Drake, Kenny King, James Storm- always pushed to the side. If you made a best TNA bound for glory series, think of the top tier TNA talents you could have included that genuinely should be in the title picture, but we saw matches & main events like Sting losing to Mick Foley, & there were WWE dinosaurs who could not go getting too much screen time.
13:57 I love how Slapnuts refuses to put over even a guy with a gun 😅
lmao
TNA being strange is what made them unique
Very true they felt different than wwe
Its true. Whenever someone says TNA was bad I think, yea it was at times, but it was never boring
@ChairmanMeow1 Even though I agree, some of the early episodes of the hogan era were kinda boring, it picked up again when the immortal story began
Acting like WWE wasn't weird is dumb
@@vegetalover9297 This video has nothing to do with WWE

I totally forgot about that until OSW Review 134!
Wait when did he acknowledge it?

It was Glacier's ninja clan, the Hyoga-ryu. Main Event Mafia paid them to make Joe disappear.
NINJAS

I don't think we'll ever know the answer to "how is he gifted?"
Gifted at getting over with the boys, garnering him a more successful spot than that of comedy jobber which he seemed tailor-made for.
gifted at getting owned on twitter by Cody Rhodes

The stupidity of TNA is mind-melting but that's what makes them so interesting to talk about.
Double J was in the UK for Wembley and you needed to interview the guy!!! You and double J are kindred spirits. Always forever attached.
Great video!
I remember Dixie’s talent meeting well. 😄
That talent meeting was so awkward lol, She tried to be Vince so much
What was she thinking was she trying to come across like an assertive competent person 😅😅😅😅
Instead she looked more like Mr Burns😅
If they can bring back these days in tna now ill be interesting to see more

The angle in a thong episode was hilarious at the time. Can’t fault angles commitment to the gimmick
At least Jarrett only had 1 gun pulled on him.
Hogan had a half dozen of them on PPV.
Mick vs The Champ was classic. Everything from Don West's over the top commentary to Mick's overly exaggerated People's Elbow has me crying laughing to this day when I see or think about it 😂

I'd like to see The Hawk rank the worst and the best theme songs of TNA and do a video on which era or years was the best.
Midget pulling a glock on Slapnuts is actually hilarious.
9:42 a wild slap nuts appears! Every time 😂😂😂😂😂
In my journey through TNA I'm now in the Black Reign Era, so far the strangest thing during 2007
And Judas Mesias too with the dead eyes and spitting blood. But I prefer him than Fat Reign
Yeah goldust was not in good shape then
And its a shame because Black Reigns theme song rock's so much

The entire Ring Ka King was strange and bizarre moment in TNA although that might consider cheating if you included it

I have to respect any man that can hold his own against a life size cutout
If TNA can do it, you can do it. Just don’t quit.
James Storm's cult and the freaking rape shack was a hell of a storyline, they shouldn't have done my boy Sanada like that 😂
Honorable Mention.

Jeff Jarret & Bruce
I think the Storm-Mickie James thing is a House of Cards reference
We're never gonna see the end of the Sonny Siaki joke, are we?

To be fair, there probably should have been lawsuits up the ass when the roof caught on fire at that show. I wonder how that even happened?
