  • FOR BROBNAR!
    On the war-torn planet of Brobnar, endless skirmishes from countless factions duel over precious resources and to establish a foothold in different regions, yet some battles arise from sheer happenstance more than anything else.
    The Tau Empire was late to the party so to speak, and after many areas of the planet had been claimed by other races, they were left with a seemingly unoccupied pocket towards the northern hemisphere of the planet. It seemed strange that such a large continent would be left unoccupied, but the Tau's eagerness to land resulted in them unearthing the answer.
    A monstrous Keeper of Secrets known as The Big Thirst had taken over the region and was surprised to see willing victims flood into their city. Calling for its most devoted pets, the daemon strode into battle, cackling with joy.

    Imagine being those poor fire warriors. You stand shoulder to shoulder with your commander, the absolute pinicle of everything the Fire caste aspire to be, armed with the best armour and technology the earth caste can provide, as terrifying Daemons descend upon your battle lines and then; whoosh! Off he flies, to hide in a tower, shouting "FOR THE GREATER GOOD!" over his shoulder as he goes. It might make you question a few things.

      Brave Sir Robin always stands with his men! Except when an exalted Daemon is hungry/frisky.

      It’s canon. There is nothing more dishonoring for the Tau than to be a fire warrior with a dead commander. They know that he means more to the war effort than they do. They are here to fight and die for the greater good (not too dissimilar to guardsman’s thoughts in the matter)

    • @samuelharmssambamsjm269
      @samuelharmssambamsjm269 3 года назад

      @@justinalexander4707 aren't they basically like psycho-conditioned too? Think it's heavily implied that Tau are likely programmed with phrases and mantra which prompt specific responses? I last read the T'au codex back in 4th (?) edition, so dredging the memory banks a bit. Maybe that's just Imperial propaganda.

      @@samuelharmssambamsjm269 it’s said that Ethereals have some sort of pheromone type mind control that makes those around the more... receptive to their will.... but... I have issues with that.
      1. Farsight enclave is just as dedicated to the greater good (though be it their own interpretation of it) without any Ethereals
      2. The Tau empire Ethereal supreme is An A.I.
      One could argue it’s the other Etherals carrying out the will of Aun’vah that do the pheromonal control... but still doesn’t explain the amount of near religious zealotry the enclave have for the greater good

      @@justinalexander4707 yeah, the Farsight enclaves make the whole "ethereal caste control everything through pheromones” thing a bit weird.

      @@LiveAndLetsDice it’s worth it in my opinion when you have enough time/money to try it dude. The gangs all feel completely different to each other and the expansions they’ve added just add so much more to it, whether that be your guys going mad from a warp storm and turning on each other or a giant spider showing up and eating your juves, it’s a great game if you like in game stories so to speak.
