- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is continuing its investigation into a group of boaters seen dumping trash - then gleefully celebrating what they did - in the waters off South Florida over the weekend.
They dumped the garbage in the ocean and left the trash in the boat.
Indeed. Well said sir.

Parents will have some excuse.
That Intrepid is not your average everyday boat & I highly doubt the owners name will be publicized.
That boatload of trust fund babies will probably never feel any repercussions although the perpetrators should have to do some serious community service.
Intrepid Boats manufacturer has already voiced his opinion and the owners have been identified along with their son. Sadly heavy fines will be paid by the sons owners/parents but FWC needs to make a stronger statement of community service, boat seizure, boating licenses banned from waters in Florida. Horrible parenting and lessons on the cautions of open waters. These teenagers were underaged drinking, which lots of teenagers have done, but they openly displayed clout for the drones and cameras filming. Absolute disgust as an avid ocean enthusiast

Wait until they hear how much it cost to clean that trash out of the ocean. Ocean cleanup is VERY expensive. I'm thinking more like a 50,000 or 100,000 dollar fine, a 1000 hours of community service, and a first-class education about how garbage effects ocean wildlife, how intensive an undertaking it is to clean trash from the ocean, and just how expensive it really is. Just when I thought humanity couldn't get any lower.
10 years federal prison no parole, 10,000 fine for each piece of trash ,5 year probation after release, life time ban from operating any water craft or boat .
10 years, really? Joe Biden breaks the law storing top secret papers in his garage and gets nothing? Hunter Biden does drugs and gets nothing? Love the liberal mindset.
I agree with the hefty fine and them not being able to operate a boat for 5 years. Today's generation has no regards for anything. It's sickening.
They are proud of it 🤷🏼♀️.. How are these kids raised? If you don’t appreciate the ocean and don’t want to take care of it- don’t use it! Don’t ruin it for everyone else. Spoiled, privileged & entitled maybe- ya I think so!
Judging by that boat I would say they are products of afluenza.

WTF is wrong with people today? Maybe those on board who didn't actually dump the trash will turn on the ones who actually did to avoid prosecution. Either way they should get jail time, fines, and community service at a minimum. Public humiliation would also be fair by plastering their names and pictures all over the media and social websites.

Nice home, 5 million estimate on Zillow.
Seriously where did they think the garbage was going to go with the on shore waves and wind? I spend days picking up garbage in the mangroves down here in the Florida keys. Not a day goes by I don't pick something up. These guys need a little time crawling around in the mangroves picking up garbage. Most of it does not rot for disintegrate or break down. The bottles sink with the next up and the next bunch of bottles that float in break them off leaving very sharp bottoms that will cut up your feet right through your boots. Let me supervise them for a little while.
The big ships dump in the ocean. Nothing new here.

Ban all High Capacity Semi Automatic Trash Cans & impose strict limits on all trash cans to hold no more than 10 pieces of trash..
If these laws were in place, there would have only been 10 pieces of garbage in the water..

Kinda ironic that people are losing their mind over 1 garbage can full of garbage but whole damn ships full of trash being dumped in the ocean garners no outrage.
We live in the age of instant outrage followed by almost immediate amnesia. The acts on this video were unquestionably gross in their callousness, but each of us contributes to much more harm on a daily basis. Honest self assessment appears to be a thing of the past.

Vulgar, mindless vandalism.
Not a shocker that these types are doing this.
How'd they get the aerial footage & why would they keep doing this while being watched?
As a boater, it never even cross in my mind to throw anything in ocean
A boat that size doesn't generate that much trash. They are dumping something. Evidence from some other crime?
Its likely assumed they were drinking underage, and instead of using the marinas dumpster and risking being caught underage with open container they decided to take the boat out right past a bunch of known local videographers with telephoto lenses to dump it instead.
Seems like very poor inhibitions to me.
Where are the boats numbers? Will this be another rich daddy let them go free story?
You don't have to display registration numbers when your vessel is USCG registered. Just name and port-of-call. You can be identified by that. Anyone can go online and lookup a USCG registered vessel on the online database. Up until 2018 you could even get owners name etc right off the database. Now they don't display the name. Just boat information.
My God! Jail!
this happens a lot in florida. you have many people living on boats. where do you think their waste goes. i have complained to the state many times. nothing is done. they also have many abandon boats just left to litter the intercoastal waterway. it looks like a junk yard for boats. it is a beautiful state which isn't being taken care of.
Have you ever been on a cruise ship? You should see what they dump in the oceans.
They have DC lobbyists and your very own U.S. Senator and his/her family on the payroll.
@@OnWisconsin33 By international agreement, countries can only regulate up to 12 nautical miles from shore. Limited control up to 24 nm. And only economic activity (fishing, drilling for oil, etc) out to 200 nm. Most cruise ships are operating beyond 12-24 nm when they dump garbage, so they're outside the range of laws regarding dumping. Lobbying in DC has nothing to do with it. Not saying it's OK for them to dump. Just pointing out that the way international law is set up right now, there's nothing stopping them (or any other boater).
Bull crap . So you think what they did is OK . Let not get off topic .

Same problem affects tuna fisheries. The fish travel through waters belonging to several countries and in international waters. Making it next to impossible to enforce quotas to prevent overfishing.
