    I am watching radar its 2:30am on WED, and still no rain in land in TX, most of it still out in the gulf, Houston and Galveston getting some light rain. I think most of you weather people seem to be over reacting and beefing this up some. Not seeing anything remotely close to what you all are calling for.

      Hello there, glad to keep you ahead of this storm. A lot of rain definitely for your area these next few days, with the 4 to 8 inch rainfall totals. I will keep you up to date on this potential tropical storm and all the heavy rainfall headed your way.

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  7 дней назад +1

      Good news for your area, it is looking like the highest rain totals will be just south of you, as I am lowering your area to 2-4 inches, and tge 4-8 inches should stay just south of you.

    For some of the coastal communities because the water temperature is only in the mid to upper 60s. We can have a little bit of relief, but I think it’s still gonna get steamy with heat combine to the humidity It could feel like 100°+ well inland. Hopefully by next week Tuesday and Wednesday that the temperatures go down in the humidity goes down and get some comfort from some Canadian air.. is hurricane season has been one of the quietest since 2014 and 2014 we didn’t get our first name storm until July 1, 2014 and we were below average that year because of a strong El Niño. I think there could be Alberto in the next 24 hours. The chance I think of using more than 30 names storms this year is around 10 to 15% chance. I mean, I hope both of them stay relevantly weak we have to be prepared for any explosive or rapid intensification development because the sea surface temperatures are so darn hot. Let me tell you something in 1938 a killer category three hurricane May land fall on Long Island that nearly killed the actress Katherine Hepburn in Connecticut it’s been 85 years since we had a major hurricane. It’s very difficult for the Northeast have a major hurricane, but it’s not impossible. We are overdue for a for a tropical landfall it’s only a matter of when and not if it could happen any year. And since 1851 only three major hurricanes made landfall in New York. That’s the same as the state of Georgia And I think the Northeast is going to be in a tropical wildcard this year so we may or may not have tropical activity but time will only tell

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  8 дней назад

      Next week will sure feel good after this sweltering heat. That is a good point about coastal areas having a little relief with the colder water off the coast nearby. I am amazed we haven’t see our first named storm, but one thing that could be bad about that is there has been no storms to help draw energy and heat out of the water so the sea surface temps have stayed more elevated than if there was a few storms already. I have a feeling it will be a very backloaded season. I tend to agree with a smaller chance of passing 30 named storms this season. That is some great history behind major hurricanes and New England and Long Island. I feel like this region has dodged the bullet for far too long. It makes me a little worried, as that day will eventually come. Keeping an eye out every season for this possibility.

      @@Meteomark That’s Right Mark. In fact Eric Fisher chief meteorologist said WBIZ in Boston said that luck is going to run out eventually. Whether if it’s this year 10 years or even 40 years from now, we have to be on guard every year because it can happen. New Jersey has not seen any major hurricane landfall since recordkeeping began in 1851 but the worst was Superstorm Sandy in 2012. It was a 946 MB low when it made landfall in Atlantic County New Jersey. And Sandy was even a hurricane at landfall it was an extra tropical cyclone, almost a powerhouse nor’easter.

    Do you think this summer will be more of these really hot temps for more than a day or two at a time for my area?

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  7 дней назад

      Unfortunately I am thinking we will see a couple more of these types of heat waves throughout the summer. I think each one could last on average 5 to 8 days at a time.

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  8 дней назад +2

      That's what I am afraid of, we may end up having a lot of these heat waves through the summer, and it makes me wonder if we end up getting above 100 in the shade on one of these heat waves in July & August. This La Nina is bringing a lot of extreme weather for sure.

    Would it be a December hurricane since 1984?

      Quite potentially, have to watch well into December, as we may just end up with a few named storms.

      It seems like most storms will continue to go around and away from Currtiuck NC for the next week or so. We may have to watch that tropical wave east of Florida if it swings up far enough, but it will likely stay south and west of your area, Below average precipitation will continue for your area for the next couple of weeks.
