    I like a really warm/thick mitten. I use leftover/ scraps of fingering yarn to knit a lining in the mittens. Extra warm, and use up leftover yarn :)

    Hello Ladies, thank you for being my Friday afternoon entertainment. This week you helped me untangle yarn barf x3…… thought I could make a baby doll blanket quickly, working with 3 skeins of dk on size 17 needles…. Sadly, no, I can’t.
    I’ve watched all of your episodes, enjoyed every one, thank you!

    Thank you for another great podcast. I love everything you knit and crochet. I am saving my pennies, oops, nickels, to get some more of your yarn and tools. Kim, great job on the Trite. Simone, you crochet the most beautiful shawls. You are certainly a multi-talented woman. Happy Easter to you both and your families.

    This is an episode that I have to watch again. So much information about how to figure out the left-over yarn! And the projects are lovely. I had to check out the Jasmine Tea shawl and fell in love with all the other patterns. I checked out the Wallflowers course and watched all the little sample/intro videos there! Kim I love the colours you have chosen for your Wallflowers. I know you are second guessing them but the effect is truly unique and stunning. Even the peach colour you do not like brings an amazing soft glow to the piece. I hope you do complete it as it is visually stunning.

    Kim, your Treit is beautiful! And Simone, I love the crochet shawl that is in progress, too!
    As for yarn chicken, anything I do that has to be two, like socks or mittens, I do taat so that I can do the same adjusting, if needed. Also, if I have small amounts left, too little to do a couple of rows on a hat, I make prayer cloths out of them for the Church. I seldom have any real leftovers after that that are more than a couple of yards.
    Great episode! I saw Kirk Dunn on Fruity Knitting several months ago and I envy anyone who will see that in person. It was AMAZING!
    Glad to see Wall Flowers is coming back, too!

    Helix knitting is a great option if you have to use skeins with a differing dye lot when knitting in the round. knit to 3 stitches before the end of the round. Add the differing yarn. Knit to 3 stitches before the original yarn. Pick up and knit the 1st yarn and repeat by alternating the yarns.

    • @FleeceHarmonyPodcast
      @FleeceHarmonyPodcast  4 месяца назад

      Yes - I even did a tutorial on helical knitting a few years back. You can find in in our tutorial playlist. It was a must when you are making your living selling hand dyed yarns! ;-)

    I had toyed around with the idea of learning to spin for months. Listening to Simone discuss spindle spinning pushed me down the rabbit hole, and I love it 😍 I thought I would just dip my toe in with a drop spindle...I bought a wheel a week later 😁 You should talk Betsy into learning to spin so she can ask all the new spinner questions in a "Spinning with Kim and Simone" segment!

I 'm not committed to a whole blanket but I have decided to make at least one the patterns for pillows and I am very excited to start. A suggestion for your Knitting chat- knitting tension such a challenge for me. Lastly I have serious FOMO about the Fiber Festival. I purchase so much yarn during the Pandemic...just in case I couldn't get any more with everyone that started knitting/crocheting 😂
    I am now trying to use it all up so I have a reason to buy more. I have made 3 scrappy blankets called My favourite blanket by Kay Jones of The Bakery Bears. It is mindless knitting, mostly garter stitch but now I have 3 small throws for around the house. Used up a lot of my fingering sock yarn as you hold it double or Worsted single. Granny square Afghans are a great idea too. Great topics and projects this week. Thanks for this episode🇨🇦🥰Sharon.

    Such a great episode! Full of beautiful projects, nice stories, cashmere-yarn in pretty colors. Especially the technical part will help me a lot. I like Simone for her clear and straight explanations and also for her knowledge about nature. I hope that spring is coming soon on PEI. The daffodils are already blooming here in Northern Germany. Happy Easter 🐣
