Interesting way to keep track of screws :P I cleaned my laptop a few years ago and lost the screw that keeps the HDD in place :D used a hard sponge and oddly enough, no HDD failures since then.
Please, I need help. My laptop doesn't stay when ever I press the on button. When I pressed the on button within 2 or 3 seconds it off. Have checked the fan, change battery(including the small one inside) no good result. Please, need your help. Thanks
In most cases. There is a little tiny film of dust between the heatsink and the fan. You have to disassembly the laptop, in order to be able to clean the dust from inside. If you do this and the problem still exists. Then could be more serious problem.
I've a Compaq 615 working great then switched it on following day and screen is blank caps lock flashes 5 times. I've drained power but still nothing. no software or hardware was installed before hand it has just went blank. help please. Also have Acer aspire 5733 won't load at all. sometimes get starting Windows the black screen with cursor. that's progress because I took it apart and cleaned it. I think it's my 500gb hard drive maybe not?? 2 laptops and none work HELP!!
+Kevin Milne Hi, Answer for compaq 615: I suppose are not able to see bios instuctions too. My opinion is to firstly check the memmory. If you have two pieces of memmory installed, try to remove one and do the check with the other one. Then try the opposite. If it was a memmory failure, at this way you will make clear which one was the faulty one. Another part which could be the faulty part in your laptop is the gpu(graphics card). The only think you can try (at you own risk)is to reflow the gpu. That means to heat with a heatgun the gpu for a while and recheck. There are videos that reffered to this proccess(reflow) on youtube and also to my channel. Finnaly the profi solution. There are services that can repair the gpu(In your case the gpu is onboard)so we are talking for motherboard repair. and the cost starts from about 70 euros. If you choose the last solution make clear how many months would be the warranty. Hope you find my recommentations helpfull.
+Kevin Milne Answer for acer 5733. There if a wonderfull cd "toolbox" called hirens boot cd. Som of them are: hdd check, memmory check etc. Try it to find out if your hdd and your memmory are ok.

I have same laptop when i switch on, it start but do not show anything on screen, after a minute later it switch off, please help how to fix it
Najmal 4743000 it seems to be a serious hardware issue. Sorry can't recommend an easy solution.

Gerardo Lacruz have you tried to remove the battery?
remove the CMOS battery
