WOW!!! This just ROCKS! What an unmistakable sound from Iommi and Gillan. I had wished for years that Gillan would record another studio album with Iommi, Butler and Ward; this arguably is just as good!
My first time hearing this, I’m always late to the party, no wonder. This is incredible!!! As I would only expect with Iommi and Gillan (not to mention McBrian, Lord and Newstead)! Always had wished that Iommi and Gillan would do another studio recording after the Born Again album (which is one my all-time favorite recordings); having heard this track, I would not have been disappointed!!!
Love this song..🤘 it finds every good feeling in me and strikes to the bone!!!! ..✴️ Ian Gillan ✴️ , . Everything he sings cuts strait to my soul❣️❣️❣️ Beautiful voice
I was amazed when I heard him in the studio. Gillan has the best scream in the business... "Child In Time" on the album Made In Japan has to be the all time greatest hair raising tuneful scream ever recorded!
Dan Hunter It was written and recorded to raise money for the music school in Armenia which was destroyed by earthquake in 1990s. Originally a version of Smoke on the Water was recorded for Rock Aid Armenia to that end but the devastation to the country was so immense they ran out of money just to survive. So this song helped provide the final funds and the school is now operational in Armenia.
There's no DJ on this particular channel, just tracks (ask "Alexa" for Classic Rock FM and its what you get) so I had to hunt this down by writing parts of the lyrics into Google. I thought it was some obscure Californian doom metal band's finest moment! Never guessed it was two founder members of two of the Holy Trinity of British heavy rock.
It still trances me out. Iommie's Gibson (the original one he had in Sabbath) was stolen at a charity gig he was doing only days before this studio record. Just finding out about the generosity of these guys when shooting this restored my faith in humanity. The the funds from this project went to build a school on Armenia... it is almost complete. Makes ya proud dunnit?
Thanks Katrina. Deep Purple and Black Sabbath were my absolute favorite bands when I was growing up. Words can't describe how lucky I felt to actually meet them... and to make a video for them?... heaven! Life can deliver some fantastic surprises!
What an amazing Deep Purple and Black Sabbath song at the same time! Kind of "Born Again" v2.0. Like "Holy Water" it's something that just had to be done. RIP Jon Lord.
Iommi's riffs and Gillan's voice. One of the finer points of Sabbath's BORN AGAIN album. Growing up in the 70s, we were always fantasizing about super groups. Can you imagine Deep Purple's singer with Sabbath? 👍
Bought the album as soon as it came out. Big Sabbath fan here and to hear Gillan make music again with Tony is fantastic. Been to long now since Tony Iommi released an album. It's 2018 and new Tony Iommi's music is wanted
Your probably right there Rosvaldas. He certainly wasn't in the studio for the recording session. They sent me a tape of him playing later. Iommie is such a sweet guy.
I agree. Cutting the video, you really notice when the harmony guitar parts kick in... It shifts the piece up a notch. Without it it would have sagged but Iommie's been around too long to let that happen. Many of us were disappointed he want included in the list of top 100 guitarists. Iommie virtually invented heavy metal, before his dark semi-tones gave us that revelation music was stuck in a depressingly bright, unmoving happy happy joy joy land of nod.
I`m a guitarist and I agree with you about Iommi,he`s one of the greats.I also have aspergers syndrome and music is a language I that speaks volumes to me.Thanx for the video.
@chalo513 It was a privilege to be involved... to be in the room with my hero's was pure joy! My favorite track ever is Child In Time from the album Made in Japan. Favorite albums include Black Sabbath Paranoid and Master Of Reality.
Absolutely amasing!!! You can feel the Wisdom in these Guys. Sometimes - espacially in the refrains - the harmonys are a little bit boring. But at least, this is absolutely fantastic!!!
Sabbath and Purple were my favorite bands so you can imagine I was beside myself when I got this gig. Then when I heard Gillan's voice it was like FMD he's still got it. And Tony's solo, yowza! Jon Lord arrives sheepishly confessing "I haven't sorted all the chords yet" Iommi replies "Not to worry. we're doing a different song now" "really?" "yeh".... it was half an hour before Iommi let Lord off the hook... very funny!
Hey thanks man. I just noticed the numbers, they've gone crazy since I last looked. I do agree this is such a great song, I was blown away when I first heard it. They can still show us all how it's done.
I so agree. When I was a teenager Deep Purple and Sabbath was all there was... oh and Led Zeppelin of course (Paul Jones was going to be on bass but couldn't make it that day) If you were to tell me back then I would find myself in a studio making a video for these guys I woulda called you crazy. But life can deliver the craziest things. How lucky am I?
Yeah. When I was shooting in the studio with the replay going at earsplitting levels, McBrain not holding back on the drums I thought the same thing, "Gillen still git it!" Have to say, one of the proudest moments of my life.
I'm so very happy someone like you who deserves such an honor got the chance to make this amazing video, these are all my favorite musicians in one place, which is to fucking cool. Haha great work!!!
O Born Again é um dos discos mais subestimados do rock. Na minha opinião, um dos melhores discos de heavy metal de todos os tempos. Até Digital Bitch é muito boa.
@laxrat25 This was a journey of discovery for me. Not only did I end up working with my hero's (I was a huge fan of sabbath and purple in the 70s) but I got to meet the Armenian ambassador to the UK and shot Brian May (Queen's guitarist and professor of astrophysics) receiving an award from the Armenian government for services rendered to the Armenian people through his work on the original "Rock Aid Armenia" project. Wow! We had a great conversation revolving around science and god
It took a while but it drove me senseless Now they say I’m non compos mentis Little wonder I’m still here at all Staring out from the guilt free on the wall It’s what happens when you mess with matches Everything’s reduced to ashes Now I’m lost and brokenhearted My dreams had barely started You’re never gonna drive those demons Out of my mind I know you’ve gone, but you’re never Out of my mind Still see those pictures of hell, sends me Out of my mind My memory’s photographic Some of those images stopped the traffic It wasn’t me, it wasn’t you Feel that it’s nothing new I’m not guilty, but I’m conscious A bad net weight on my conscience Another thing I have to mention Sadly there’s no redemption You’re never gonna drive those demons Out of my mind I know you’ve gone, but you’re never Out of my mind Still see those pictures of hell, sends me Out of my mind I want a lonely life I want a lonely life You’re never gonna drive those demons Out of my mind I know you’ve gone, but you’re never Out of my mind Still see those pictures of hell, sends me Out of my mind

Whatta Great Line-Up For This Album🤘❤️
Старые и действительно талантливые,гениальные музыканты,которых ни кто не превзойдет
Thanks to all of you from Armenia
What a master piece!!!!

IAN GILLAN IS AMAZING WHEN I WAS 20 I HEAR HIM WHIT SABBATH BORN AGAIN ALL MY LIFE SINCE THOSE DAYS HAS BEEN CHANGED THANKS FOR IT
Yesssss
For a man who writes the heaviest, most evil, soul crushing riffs, Iommi sure smiles a lot.
This is regularly played on Classic Rock FM and is a damn good song.

I wore that record out.
To this day I am obsessed with that record.
Слушаю почти каждый день. Профессионалы. И да! Ламповые усилители - это навсегда)))

except Mikko Lindström, who I think was there just because he married Iommi's daughter
Your probably right there Rosvaldas.
He certainly wasn't in the studio for the recording session.
They sent me a tape of him playing later.
Iommie is such a sweet guy.
Still one hell of a tune.
I agree.

Born again is in my top 5. Of most underrated albums of all time ever from any genre.

Wow!
We had a great conversation revolving around science and god
what a great song ! tommy ure the best ...
Anthony Iommi ->Tony Iommi!?
Who's Tommy?
It took a while but it drove me senseless
Now they say I’m non compos mentis
Little wonder I’m still here at all
Staring out from the guilt free on the wall
It’s what happens when you mess with matches
Everything’s reduced to ashes
Now I’m lost and brokenhearted
My dreams had barely started
You’re never gonna drive those demons
Out of my mind
I know you’ve gone, but you’re never
Out of my mind
Still see those pictures of hell, sends me
Out of my mind
My memory’s photographic
Some of those images stopped the traffic
It wasn’t me, it wasn’t you
Feel that it’s nothing new
I’m not guilty, but I’m conscious
A bad net weight on my conscience
Another thing I have to mention
Sadly there’s no redemption
You’re never gonna drive those demons
Out of my mind
I know you’ve gone, but you’re never
Out of my mind
Still see those pictures of hell, sends me
Out of my mind
I want a lonely life
I want a lonely life
You’re never gonna drive those demons
Out of my mind
I know you’ve gone, but you’re never
Out of my mind
Still see those pictures of hell, sends me
Out of my mind
Rip jon lord
