- Day two on the Solo Island Camping adventure. The wind gives me a slight break while coastal foraging for a meal fit for a king! This would be one of the best meals I’ve cooked on the islands so far, hope you enjoy this one as much as I did✌️

3rd world tip: Make a small enclosed campfire... put green fresh off the tree leaves on top so the fire turns to a grey smoke, mosquitoes cant handle it you just have to put new leaves on top every hour or so when they burn out and the smoke turns back to fire
These islands typically have fire bans emplaced, it sucks for sure because there is nothing like a nice fire but it's better to not have novices out there burning the whole island away

For those wondering what a ‘Green Zone’ is, it’s an area designated as a Marine National Park Zone which are no-take areas where fishing is prohibited. The are shaded in green on maps hence the name.

Bring Listerine for mosquito spray(very serious, you will sing its praises) use cloth not just open skin, tent walls too. And get yourself an evacuated tube solar heater. Boil, cook, whatever while the sun is up. Fuel is good, but you can packout and use less with better time use with the solar. And the whole use of pasta is always going to make you feel hungrier if there is ANY wheat in it. Wise with using the olive oil, big help with diving energy.

B-1 Thiamine takin at 2500mg several days prior to adventuring out is a good Mosquito repellent. No guarantees though, as it was marketed as sketter tabs along time ago. The dosage may not be accurate, although B vitamins are water soluble so the really pose no lasting threat if taken in large quantities.

Camping on a remote island, fishing and foraging for food. Gosh, that's such a lifegoal of mine. Idk why more people with money don't do what you're doing. It seems like such a better getaway than, say, some fancy hotel and Big Ben

When I used to go camping I would pride myself on eating well. Some people thought camping meant living off of canned beans. Me and my buddies grilled steak or chicken every night, but this Australian blows my game away!

Great job emphasizing diving with a buddy! I've been seeing more and more spearfishing accidents around the world, stay safe and keep enjoying these amazing trips. Also from freediving lobster in South Florida, I've noticed that grabbing lobster by the antenna really works most of the time if you go down to the base of the head where the knuckle of the antenna is, that part rarely breaks off.
