My friend told me he was sat outside in his tartan pyjamas drinking tea one morning when Sabbath recorded at her studio it's on my channel (Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman house)
I met Geezer here in Chicago, when he was touring with his band GZR. He's always been one of my heroes as a bass player. After the gig, we had a nice little chat, and I told him I was a big fan, blah, blah, blah. As I was going to leave him alone, he said, "Do you have to leave? Stick around and meet the other guys." I spent the next hour and a half hanging and drinking with my hero and his band. I'll never forget.

Geezer is such an underrated member of Black Sabbath. People need to realise that he isn’t just the bass player for the band, he is the founder and song-writer for most of Sabbath’s songs.

You can never overestimate the influence of The Beatles. Geezer said it right; hearing people not trying to sound American but singing in their natural voice. Immensely important.
Actually i had seen the Black Sabbath story a long time ago and heard that they sucked as the band named earth but when they came up with black sabbath song people noticed and that's when they realized what the people liked. They changed their name to Black Sabbath and started writting songs about destrucción,war and evil. Another thing was that they used to sleep in the day and reherse at night in a castle. Eventually Ozzy couldn't deal with it anymore. Don't know how much of that is true but it was still interesting.
Listening to Geezer had tears of laughter running down my cheeks the way he tells the stories. The bit about the sax player that could only play the one solo and played it for all eighteen songs in their repertoire and then the realization, "Well, we knew he would have to go". Lol!!
In my opinion his sound is the muted roar of Tony’s power chords with the thump of Bills bass drum, as nimble as a harpist with the groove like no other. Along with his lyrical skills there is no doubt that he is a huge reason Sabbath made it so big....
God i love theses stories.. Bill Ward. "Il'l come along if Tony Comes along!! And geezer. "I tuned down me Fender telecaster and used it as a bass"....And the rest is History!!! Amazing

Great interview that gave stories I never knew. Tony's book is a great read IMO. Geezer is fantastic on bass. Like others have mentioned, I never knew he started out on a guitar with just 2 strings...Black Sabbath is in the top 5 for me.
Geezer was 11 years old when he bought that guitar. Without ever seeing a live guitarist, he didn't know how to fret it for 2 years. Today, a determined kid could learn Hendrix solos in his bedroom in 2 years.
You have to imagine that this is just the "walk-straight-through" version of the Black Sabbath story. The hardship these lads went through is almost inimaginable nowadays.
