Joe has been a legend since he was a kid.....he still is a kid in my eyes. To find a lifelong passion when so young was a gift to us all and to him.. I envy that...love hearing him talk..so focused. XOX
As someone who loves to educate people about the things, I am passionate about, so does Joe Bonamassa… He’s a gem of a historian, and a teacher of music and guitar paraphernalia… And a heck of a humble and nice guy… Anyone who knows him would tell you that… Thanks, Joe. Thanks, Norm for educating and enlightening all of us! Dr. Renae 😊
Mr. B, thank you for sharing so much. My musical education is improving vastly by following your conversations and learning about people I've never heard of. Gerald.
I'm not a huge fan of Joe's music. His love of guitar is infectious but the fact he will pay more so he doesn't screw anyone over is a quality that is forgotten. True human!
I love Joe's playing & singing. It's crazy to think how Joe B., Josh Smith, & Derek Trucks are all pretty close to the same age & they are all 3 masters at what they do.
I remember when I went to the Gibson Garage, and they let me play a custom shop Les Paul. The same day my dad took me to Arnold's in Nashville for lunch. Afterwards I noticed Carter's music and i grabbed a $3000 mandolin off the wall and played it. By the way, we drove 8 hours in his GMC truck from Louisiana to get there, I am from California.
Joe talked about playing for 40 people. I was one of the 40 at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard , WA, the night my boss gave Joe his first Gigliotti Tele .... that place was/is an armpit.
legends are born. Any time a guitar "player"(not collector) tells you he is a legend, he believes the crap that someone else comes up with. Freddie King was/is a legend. Although, he never went around bragging about it.
yeah there's the old guys like page, clapton, and the dead ones like SRV and bloomfield but i will say joe could be one of the greatest blues/british blues guys out there right now.. i don't know if i'd quite throw out the "legend" label out there yet.... and don't get the idea that i don't like joe. i love joe... but i'm not sure he's changed things enough to be called a legend.
@@94Shredder oh yeah... didn't say he couldn't be a legend... just said i'm not sure he's quite worthy of the label yet. he's surely leading the pack right now, and i could listen to him talk gear and music all day long. i can't think of any other artist who has a deeper knowledge of gear and of music than joe.
No, he is not. He may be a legend in the vintage guitar nerd and collector bubble, but that´s about it. That said, i like him and he is a terrific player with incredible chops. The greatest blues/rock blues guitar player that ever lived? Give me a break.
Jack Pearson Could scare any guitar Player He is incredible His vocals are equally as good That man can sing One of my favorite people I have ever met.
Mark Nairn he was still replaced by Derek Trucks, that spot was filled😂 Seriously though, ABB may be the best band ever, they really never had a bad lineup besides some time in the 80s. To go from Jack to Derek is just ridiculous, some of the best musicians to ever live. Long live the Allman Brothers.
Joe Bonamassa...What Can I Say...Was Introduced To Joe..By Recieving His First Album From A Radio Station In K.C.A New Day Yesterday...First Saw Him Live Ticket Was 8 Dollars...In K.C. At A Blues Club On Main In K.C....Since Seen Him Live A Total Of Eight Times...K.C. Vegas..Love Me Some JOE...
I agree he's maybe the greatest blues rock guitarist but it's hard to say that when you don't know, there might be someone better I've never heard before.
I'm going to venture a guess that Norm might be a 'friend of Bill's' because that Midnight Mission is associated with a lot of volunteers and guests from that community.
Joe is so right about learning to play with a band, there is a young guy who has a fairly popular youtube channel who is a great home player has awesome skills, when he gets with his band wow its a train wreck. his drummer and bass player are not so great and it's screwing this kids timing and he is not learning the fine arts of performing, its really holding him back.
I like Marcus King & his band a great deal, but I just can't see major success for them for afew years yet anyway. Hopefully I will be wrong. I enjoyed everything except the mention of Sambora. That man has some massive unresolved issues that have consequences.
Norm interviewing his pension fund manager . Joes addiction has to be one of the most expensive ever . Fair play to him for looking awkward when Norm introduces him . Nick is kinda annoying in this video -sorry .
The best ever he said are you fucking deaf yeah hes great but the best ! I aint even gunna start listing the easly 20 dudes that are better than joe i love his playin but he not even in the top 25
I'm so please Norm said that I'm sooooo sick of people saying the greatest ever was Hendrix or that guy, this guy. Todays generation play guitar better than ever before. Nothing to take away from the early great but the mantal has been past and our hope is always to a better faster runner.
There are so many young players that are fantastic...but a whole lot of them are technique/theory driven, IMHO, instead of soul-driven...and too many shredders. But I agree with you concerning the "who's greatest ever" thing.
Unfortunately guitar isn’t about who’s the fastest or who gets to the finish line first, it’s about putting out quality music. Joe is a great player, one of the best around, but he could live till he’s 300 years old and still wouldn’t produce the number of classic tracks that a guy like Jimi did. Add to that the fact that Jimi made all of that music in about a 4 year span makes it even more remarkable. Again taking nothing away from Joe as he is an amazing guitarist, probably one of the most technically proficient of all time when it comes to blues/rock.
Joe has been a legend since he was a kid.....he still is a kid in my eyes. To find a lifelong passion when so young was a gift to us all and to him.. I envy that...love hearing him talk..so focused. XOX
Joe brings up a great point, about how music shop owners and employees can have a big impact on young kids. Kudos to Norm for investing in our youth.
Lets not lose sight that money is Normans god, nothing else. He is like a sleazy used car salesman.
What a legend, would be great to sit and Chat with Joe, drinking a good wine and just have a good time. Such a humble and down to Earth human 👏👏👏
I've watched so many videos with Norm and Joe that I feel like I know them. I'm a big fan of both of you! Thanks for the video!
Keep it coming guys, love all the story telling.
I agree with Norm. Joe live is mind blowing.

Thanks Pat! For giving this show some real cred. These other guys…. Who’s the computer geek in the ball cap?
The Man! He is the Greatest! Everytime! Blessings all! Merry Christmas!
Saw Joe at the Chicago Theater a few years back, he had the flu but still rocked the house. He was in a flop sweat all night but never missed a beat.
Enjoyed this thanks Norm and to the performers

question regarding sparkle finished Fenders. If a 1960 Fender when back to Fender during 1960 for a sparkle finish...is it a very old refin?
Love these AGN podcasts.
Just listened to james Hunter very good thanks for letting me know about his music
me too
I don’t think Norms statement was out of line. Joe’s a legend.

k fair enough. I guess only time will tell. He’s def got the talent that’s undeniable.

I am agreeing with Norm!!He just left out ... funniest...SMARTEST...BEST LOOKING !!!❤❤❤
Jack Pearson Could scare any guitar Player He is incredible His vocals are equally as good That man can sing One of my favorite people I have ever met.
Jack is as good as anybody
Joe Bonamassa is A LEGEND !
It's really blissful to have a guitar that plays you ...
Who was the guy in the room with them who was a fan of Joe who won the blues contest I didn't catch his name?✌
Jack played in the Abb with Dickey for a couple years... he was replaced by Derek Trucks
He wasn't replaced he had to quit because ringing in his ears, Dickey with 3 100 watt Marshalls blasting away.
Mark Nairn he was still replaced by Derek Trucks, that spot was filled😂 Seriously though, ABB may be the best band ever, they really never had a bad lineup besides some time in the 80s. Joe’s the best !
I had no idea who Jack Pearson was. One youtube deep dive later, WOW! What a player!
Life isn't always pretty but be thankful for what we have
jeff healey played a squier, one of my favorites.
"I paid too much and now you can too." 😆
To Joe, Nothing is possible without the Father. Somehow I think you might know this and Norm if my gut is correct. Good show and thanks, 12 boar.
Can anyone tell me of whom joe was talking about, in the epiphone amos segment ''some boutique builder''
Echopark.
What was that story about and why did Joe tell him to shut the fuck up?
Joe and Eric..royal albert hall..2018...nuff said
I agree 100% he is the best rock blues guitarist to ever live
Lovely ❤
Love these!
I agree he's maybe the greatest blues rock guitarist but it's hard to say that when you don't know, there might be someone better I've never heard before.
His fan base always seems to overlook the guys he’s friends with that are killer players greg koch, eric gales, josh smith, kirk fletcher, jd simo.
Joe believe it or not but my favorite axe is a three hundred buck Mexican strat....its freaking amazing..
You can drop the moon for a guitar, I can't....
You help homeless people?
Whole new respect
I'm going to venture a guess that Norm might be a 'friend of Bill's' because that Midnight Mission is associated with a lot of volunteers and guests from that community.

Is Dr. Sugarman the son of one Dan?
Just play it Joe!...it's a freaking guitar!
Yep, Joe has the chops!
4 one hour sets Fri and Sat night. 50 songs 2-3 rotated out per week. $100 per night per band member. Fun tho. I don't miss toting gear.
Joe is just so Cool
Finally!
Spot was his best sounding and my favorite is his Les Pauls. The tone on British Invasion was unreal. I was so disappointed when he sold it.
You Never Want To Make Your Move Too Soon!
So modest is a monster guitar player
The difference....i had to sell my last amp to get my Cat to the wetrenairy😅. Joe has 100 Guitars and 100 Amps🙏. Life.
❤
He saved bluesrock hands down
Holy wow norm
If and if again....my strat is not particularly expensive but it kills when I ask it to
Norm, how 'bout Vince Gill and Joe Bonamasa on the same show?
Joe is so right about learning to play with a band, there is a young guy who has a fairly popular youtube channel who is a great home player has awesome skills, when he gets with his band wow its a train wreck. his drummer and bass player are not so great and it's screwing this kids timing and he is not learning the fine arts of performing, its really holding him back.
This must have been pre quarantine?
Danny Elam yes. It’s from the All Guitar Network. Couple months old.
I like Marcus King & his band a great deal, but I just can't see major success for them for afew years yet anyway. Hopefully I will be wrong. I enjoyed everything except the mention of Sambora. That man has some massive unresolved issues that have consequences.
So I guess Jack Pierson was playing Vee-Bop...
♥️😎👍♥️

Why does the one who is NOT famous chime in and run his damn trap all the time?!?!?
"The greatest blues guitarist that ever lived"? Gimme a friggin' break! He plays the same cliched blues licks that everyone else plays....
So much for social distancing?
Don't worry, this aired last year **
This was recorded before the Virus hit
Fake news, fake virus
