What a down to earth guy. Someday it would be so cool not only to meet Joe,but even better to just jam some great songs with him. He is a national treasure with out a doubt. Stay safe and well. Signed John Zepbass, from Munster, Indiana.

Great interview Mitch, Joe B I think what you said about getting what’s in your head and heart out of your gear is what’s important not the price tag was profound and what you’re doing with this charity is awesome as well, thank you for all that you do.

It's been inspiring to watch Joe grow and mature over the years....I first saw him open for BB King at the Chance in Poughkeepsie,NY back in 1991. He had to be 12 or 13 years old with his cowboy hat...he looked like Mike TV from Willy Wonka, but he played like a seasoned veteran. He was incredible even at that age!!!

      This is better.

Duane Allman did pretty good interviews back then but he was extremely intellectual. A thinker. I'm sure there are/were others.

These 5 minute wonder, plastic wannabees in the music industry, who strut around in their underwear or grabbing their crutch and think their shit don't stink, could learn a lot about how to conduct themselves from a real McCoy humble musician like Joe. One of the best in the world without doubt.
Great interview from both parties. Completely absorbing.

I love that Joe says the best gear is the gear that speak to you. Use what works for you and you can afford. The most important thing is to make music.

Yeah - good video. Joe is right on. In the audio (stereo) world, the sound you are chasing and sometimes find is usually from "synergy". That is an amplifier and a pair of speakers in a room that work harmoniously. Get it right and it's magic. Most times it's just nice or OK, or whatever.
I been playing with sound since I was a teenager (1960's) and I have found it three or four times over a lifetime. I currently have it in my upstairs vinyl preview, or thrift store test play rig.
In guitars for me, it is my wife's Framus B50 student classical that was run over by a VW Bus in the 70's, repaired, lost the bridge a few years ago, which I reset. That thing is amazing.
My more expensive Framus classical is a good guitar, but not even close to her cheap student model with all the bruises and what not. It's what works for you - right on : )

When Joe talks about trying to nail the song in 3-4 takes, I get that. It is like when you take a random word and keep repeating several times. Soon the word will lose all its meaning and sound like gibberish. So yeah, try and get it recorded in a few takes and you will capture the freshness of the tune.

If Cream , Fleetwood Mac, hadn’t went to the states playing blues music they’d been listening to a generation of people would never have heard of BB King , Freddie King etc as their music was buried in the States . There’s an interview with BB where he says as much .
