I was on a riverboat in Sacramento around 1990. I think it was the twin to the Delta Queen

Hey! Great video. I drive by this boat all the time. I did a little research. There is another boat called the spirit of California that capsized near Bethel island. It was the second spirit of Sacramento. In the article I read. It said not to be confused with the old blood alley spirit of sac out on garden hwy. The capsized spirit was used for taking tourist up and down the sac river and delta. It also said that in the 90s it did murder mystery dinner cruises.
Stoked you liked the video. So much history and memories in that boat. I did see the other boat. Initially I was getting my info mixed up but quickly realized they were two diffrent boats. Awesome that its just sitting there and we can still enjoy it from a far.

i still want more info on this boat is it still there as the video i seen was more than a year old some one other than me may have seen the video and whent to get the boat if so i hope they do well on getting it restored but if its still there i want to know what i would need know to buy it or make a clame on it as i really do want to restore this boat real badly its just what i.ve been looking for as a restore boat as a project as i,m now retired and do have the time on hand to restor it as i,ve been restoring old stuff my hole life from the time i was a young boy to now a man who is 60 years old i do have the know how to do it anda way to get it done i,ll make a you tube project out of it and let all on you tube see at i am restoring the boat back to how it was when john wayne owned and used it in a movie so to those in the know let me have what info i would need to get my hands on it to restore it back to what it once was i, am going to make same call to day to poeple who pulled out of the river to try and learn more about the boat but any info you do know would be very helpful to me i,m that one add ball nut that see,s what this boat can be after it make out of steel witch means it can be pully restored no problems just replace all the rusted out stell with new and keep all the is good and this boat can be what it once was thank you please let me know and i hope god will see it my way and make it so i can end up with it and save it for the world to seeit being used once again for all to see
Go to a tag office and see if the tags are up and see if any one has a lean on it at the court house, You could get a title for it by paying up any tags or ask the new owner for it, it’s not worth saving, all the real wood and money made from her will leave you broke and sad, this old ship will be what’s left and remember for what was, Not remember by ones who don’t care

Again, interesting history. I think I've driven the Garden Highway once, at least that part of the highway, and I do recall seeing this vessel.
I drove past it for years. I'd always go slow and marvel at it's unique beauty. One day I dove into it's history and similar to my Angel Island video, was blown away at it's history. Definitely amazing.
Any idea how much money they want for this vessel? Imagine making it into a house boat! Imagine traveling in it!

I think it was operated on the Petaluma river for a while the Elizabeth Louise was a bigger boat and a real steamboat it went to Alaska in the early 2000s
She's she's a grand old lady doesn't deserve being treated this way ..

Lol. I loved Huell Howser! From time to time in my other videos I say things he used to say and follow it up saying it's a nod to Huell. I still go back and watch is stuff. Thanks for the comment. When I uploaded 'hiking to lake clemintine falls' my brother texted me saying, "you really Huell Howserd that one".

In the movie ( Blood Alley ) it looks like the boat is going down the Sac River . Makes me wonder if that could be or is it just coincidence . The background ( especially on the Yolo side ) is a great match considering the width and foliage .
The shooting location was China Camp in Tiburon
The Delta King a paddle wheeler has been in the Sacramento/San Joaquin waters since 1927 and is 285 feet long and sits in Sacramento today.

Just hope it doesn’t fall to Graffiti artists everything else that’s abandoned seems to be tagged with spray paint which is upsetting to see these people get away with such disrespect to someone else’s property

Couldn’t this be converted to a home for the homeless? It would be better than living in tents.
