Excellent XJ, the new owner’s are very lucky for sure! I ran a 93 XJ for 26 years 🎊 🎉. Sold due to rust and purchased a 2001 XJ Sport and refurbished it to a nice condition. Fantastic find and good luck with your future XJ projects/sales. Respect from Maine 👍😊
Thank you so much. We love XJs and love saving them. Always on the hunt for them. Good to hear from a fellow enthusiast! Looking to up our game on our videos soon, so stay tuned for that. Thanks for checking us out and watching the video.
Damn this is so clean! I just inherited an Aqua Pearl Coat 95 4 door with the 4.0l with only 59k miles. Plan is to also do a refurbishment to what’s needed but keep it OEM+ until 100k miles lol
This was my first car and has currently been sitting in our backyard since about 2017. No longer runs, last known problem was blown head gaskets. Paint starting to flake off. We’re in Houston so harsh sun and lots of moisture. I’ve had dreams of getting it back up and running but have yet to commit. Couple people have offered to buy it off me but can’t seem to let it go! I worry most that the underside has completely rusted out. We did not drain fluids prior to parking it so unsure at all about the condition of everything inside of it. Milage probably in the 150k range, I can’t remember exactly.
The head might be warped. I would replace the entire head with a new one. Especially at that mileage on a 2000 year model. It should run like a champ after that. Don't let it sit too long. That is one of the worst things for them. Have to make sure engine turns over if it has been a long time. All new fluids, new plugs, new battery, new tires, get all the old bad gas out and possibly replace or clean fuel tank. Would definitely be worth it if it's not rusted very badly. I would expect some leaks to reveal themselves once you get everything running and driving. Seals will give from age and sitting.
@@johnstonmotors It shows. Mine is a Limited, same color, not as in as good of shape, but little by little we're working on it. I have a clacking in my engine that happens when I slowly take off from a stopping position. My husband can't figure out where it's coming from.
@@49rsfam64Hold on to it. Even if you end having to rebuild the engine. Some of them are just noisy. Hard to tell without hearing it in person. Glad to hear you are fixing it up.
XJ is the platform that was manufactured from 84-01. "Classic" is a trim level used on the Cherokees. So you might have a Jeep Cherokee XJ that could be a Sport, Classic, Limited Trim ect ect
Check our website and click on the "sell your vehicle tab" and submit the info on your Jeep. Most of the time we only take Jeeps under 200k, but have made a few exceptions.
@@johnstonmotors appreciate the reply. I’m not asking if you would buy it for you business to resell it. I know the person selling it, took good care of it, but that mileage is so high
@@homeydirt2278 Gotcha, understand now! If it's been really well maintained and doesn't have rust/transmission/engine issues it's probably fine. Hard to tell without looking at it in person though.

My childhood car🥹🥹❤️
Another xj ?
Was wondering what kind of mileage was on it. Can this year make and model go over 200,000 miles?
This Jeep has 73k miles on it. If well maintained and taken care of many of them go over 200k miles.
What is the difference on the jeep xj and jeep classic which one is the best

Size of the tires?
Believe they were 235/70/R16. May have been 235/65/R16
Would you buy a 2000 jeep Cherokee classic 4wd for $3k that is is great condition but has 257k miles
