I have very fond memories of living and orking in Leeds for 4 years from 1974. I didn't recognise many sites you included in your video. Very interesting film and your commentary was excellent.
Brings back memories from my youth, used to go to Leeds regular before I emigrated to Notts over 30 years now... Looks much improved from those years of New Age music..good luck in York x
Hi Robbie, Big fans of yours, glad you like Leeds! we played a game trying to spot your boat but unfortunately missed ya! hope you enjoy York and keep up the great videos!
Ah thanks Jacob - yes I do tend to move about but hopefully will see you at some point! Interesting fact for you - the boat was actually called Jacob before I renamed her! Which would count as a sex change. 😲 Ha ha!
I'd given up on the idea of visiting after watching the usual youtube walks; - until - ; bro I am totally blown away at this new take on the city ! Well its definitely on my itinerary now, hey might even move there............ Thank You !
Back at you buddy, thank YOU for the support and motivation. I'm still a while from having my boat so keep those vids coming. Funnily enough was just in the middle of watching your "slow ish TV" video. Haha now a classic.
Thank you for an awe inspiring review of my home town. Not everybody's cup o' tea, but Leeds can get under your skin if you let it...and they don't burn your boat! lol
Another great video, Leeds looks fab, I passed through Leeds very quickly years back but I definitely want to go back and visit again now!! Thanks for sharing :)
Love Leeds. Even supported the football team for...umm...about 45 years. Mostly painful. Imagine about 40 years of toothache! Glad you enjoyed the city
This is exactly what i love about your videos. I never in a month of Sundays thought of going to Leeds but my god it looks interesting! It is going on the list! I may very well lose DH in that weapons museum😆 Leeds tourist board should be paying you top dollar for that video!
I really enjoyed this Robbie. Well put together and very entertaining. I can't believe that the water taxi is free - in rip-off Britain! Caravansara took me back - my favourite Santana album. Cheers Robbie.
Cheers John, very kind of you. The water taxi, I think, is covered by Leeds Dock development owners to help bring visitors from the city centre as it's a bit out of the way.
Love the video and the effort you're putting into them. The music is superb, by the way. Please note I have just signed up to RUclips to be able to post this comment.
Ha ha excellent!! You can't escape the hypnotic draw of RUclipss! Thank you for the lovely comment my friend I shall cherish it forever. Unless you delete it 8^D
Robbie, the money you spend in launderettes adds up in one year. £4 for a wash and £2 for the dryer, 52 times a year is £312. You could buy a mini twin tub for less than £100.
Hi Robbie, great video, made me feel grateful to live in Leeds - you showcased it v well. Next time you visit, try Whitelocks pub (down a guinnel next to M&S). Very old pub and very good hand pulled beer. Think you'll enjoy it. Regards, Sally
Robbie the production value of your videos is top notch mate and something to be proud of. Good to see pub of the week back in your videos. Did you ever find out what that noise coming from the roof was on the stormy night?
Hey Sam yes the noise was actually the waves going under the boat and knocking my rudder! Should have tied the tiller at the stern but oh well maybe next time! Thanks for the comment and support as always 8^)
Thank you so much Rob. Well this is embarrassing.... I am said "artist"! It's unfinished so have not uploaded it for download yet. Do you follow me on Soundcloud? If so you'll see it soon I promise! m.soundcloud.com/cobedy
A great vid, especially for someone who is about to moor in Leeds for a few months. Just one thing you could elaborate on for me if you don't mind. A piece of text flashed up when the camera was panning around Clarence Dock that stated some of the local residents in the flats had blocked the moorings off - what was that all about? Cheers, John
Hi John cheers for that - yeah basically it's just there could have been acres of space for visitor moorings but the residents complained so they shut it off with a bridge going across.
@@RobbieCumming I know this is an old vlog, but this sort of thing seems to be happening at quite a few places around the country. My take on this is, why buy a property next to a canal which has been there for a couple of hundred years or more.... The residents, in blocking the moorings, have caused the local authority to waste/lose a lot of money building them, which was probably at the same time as developing the area. I hope the residents paid for the blocking.
Tip top video. However my local is actually run by a Thai family and asking for a Ladyboy there gets you into all sorts of trouble. Also did I spot that your laundry bag was from a popular Swedish furniture retailer?
Aaahhh Robbie im torn; as a Lancastrian I get the jitters if I go into Yorkshire but this video was awesome and I so want to spend time in Leeds now. p.s. the music was ace too
Count Arthur Strong of R4 and TV fame is based on characters alter ego Steve Delaney encountered in the cafe in Leeds Market! There ought to be a statue!
York is a must see for a southerner, But by boat is a challenge. The Rive Ouse out from Selby Lock is 1 fast following beach, and getting back into Selby Lock from York is not for the faint hearted. Good luck with ya trip, But just do ya home work, and research first mate.
Wow , lots of history to see in leeds -- Really like the Record portraits thing and will check that out , the music scene in leeds and Manchester was the san Francisco of England - the Haçienda nightclub - out of control in 80's and 90s --2002 film 24 Hour Party People starring Steve Coogan as Tony Wilson, tells the story of the Haçienda hmmm what year is this ?? I knew a minute ago , - keep the history tour up once and a while - keeps an even keel - keep it real Robbie
Cheers Roy! Yeah Croc's artwork is amazing, a must have for vinyl fans. Also love 24 hour Party People, what a film, got me into all that sort of music and instilled a desire to visit Manchester and the North 8^)
Just paused this to watch 2 hours of your show on yesterday and now I’m back 😅
Good effort
Your music makes me think of the water flowing and eddying, and it has a lonely feel to it too
Your video's just get better and better Robbie! Hope you enjoy York.
Thank you John very kind of you will do 8^)
Is always a joy, to watch your adventures, take care x
I have very fond memories of living and orking in Leeds for 4 years from 1974. I didn't recognise many sites you included in your video. Very interesting film and your commentary was excellent.
Great job! Produced like a well-rounded travel guide, with a cool (handsome) edge. Looking forward to York.
Why thank you Lori 😘 yes York should be amazing if it doesn't flood 😱
Such a fun trip to watch your journey piece by piece. Wonderful area to moor for winter!
What an amazing tour. Well done. Thank you.
Thank you Patricia! 8^)

Good stuff, there is another video on the way featuring more pubs so that will no doubt bring back more! Thanks Andy!
Hi Robbie, Big fans of yours, glad you like Leeds! we played a game trying to spot your boat but unfortunately missed ya!

Ah thanks Jacob - yes I do tend to move about but hopefully will see you at some point! Interesting fact for you - the boat was actually called Jacob before I renamed her! Which would count as a sex change. 😲 Ha ha!
Brilliant episode! you did Leeds proud.

Back at you buddy, thank YOU for the support and motivation. I'm still a while from having my boat so keep those vids coming. Funnily enough was just in the middle of watching your "slow ish TV" video. Haha now a classic.
That's awesome well do let me know when you get sorted and we shall have to arrange a slow ish high five as you go past!!
After watching your Vlog I will be paying Leeds a visit after Covid. Great video Robbie.
Thank you for an awe inspiring review of my home town. Not everybody's cup o' tea, but Leeds can get under your skin if you let it...and they don't burn your boat! lol
Cheers Ian definitely got under my skin!

Love Leeds. Even supported the football team for...umm...about 45 years. Mostly painful. Imagine about 40 years of toothache! Glad you enjoyed the city
As someone who comes from Leeds I have to say that you've done a grand job! We're heading there next week so we might pass you on the way.
That's good to hear, you must be very proud, Leeds is great. I've moved on now but would be good to meet you both at some stage.
That would be great. You've another treat in store when you get to York, enjoy!
Looking forward to seeing it again ❤
That was really interesting. Very well put together, a lot of effort went into it. Thanks.
Thank you, yes this one in particular took about two weeks to edit!! Totally worth it for comments like yours, cheers! 8^)

Yes I did visit, v good but too cramped so couldn’t get served!!
Robbie, Does the UK Travel bureau pay you because you are the best advertisement I have seen for wanting to visit the UK.
Ha ha that's a brilliant compliment thank you George!

One cultural highlight you missed was Mel B has a penthouse suite in one of those tower blocks lol!
Ha ha nice one I never knew! Saw a few famous faces on the walls of the city museum but disappointed not to see Vic Reeves 8^(
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree eh Robbie ;-)
Love leeds!
Loving Leeds (these years later). Amazing architectures. Great Bridges. First moving pictures. Good stuff Robbie !
oh I'm so happy you found Bad Apples!
Legendary venue. Sadly closed now!
Robbie Cumming yeah, I saw the post on facey yesterday. Absolutely gutted.
Tip top video. However my local is actually run by a Thai family and asking for a Ladyboy there gets you into all sorts of trouble. Also did I spot that your laundry bag was from a popular Swedish furniture retailer?

#WhoDaThunk Leeds could be so interesting? ;-)
Great watch. Now I know for sure I wont go to Leeds. Ha lol
Ah Gary come on man it's great!!!
Robbie Cumming only joking. But them night time visitors need to bugger off!!
I know right!
Another winner from Robbie, but, not the Leeds I saw last year, that was full of grimbos , eating things, and moaning. Next time, no old friends!
Count Arthur Strong of R4 and TV fame is based on characters alter ego Steve Delaney encountered in the cafe in Leeds Market! There ought to be a statue!
Cheers for that factoid +FCWatford1, that's funny I thought it was all Watford based! love Count Arthur Strong, hilarious on radio or TV 8^D
it would be a shame if those plant pots somehow fell in the canal.
Hey - How come you stopped using numbers on your vlogs??
Hi Karl! It's because the playlist already lists them in order... would you like me to add numbers?
Robbie Cumming - ah i wasnt using the playlist!. Do your own thing man, seems to be working out.
You know it brother, thanks again for the feedback 8^)
Oh, that's a shame, it does get somewhat crowded at times

Hey thanks Karl - sure just check out the description - or click this link>>>> paypal.me/crankit
Try to put a sock over the mic to help with the wind noise :)
You want me to put a sock in it? Ok fine 😪😉
Hahahaha :)

What happened with the homeless guy and your boat? Don't leave us without this juicy information.
Keep up the vids anyway 👍
I asked him very politely to leave (of course) and he did so! Cheers Harry 8^)
Not ALL homeless peaple are asholes< I was liveing ruff for a while. ITS a very fine line, Dont take life for granted.
Nice video of Leeds but the Bad Apple lives up to name with a Trump collection jar.
love that bar with the bucket for the TRUMP ASSASSINATION FUND....
get a dog?
Love the Trump assassination fund jar. I’m willing to travel from Portland Oregon just to drop a dollar in myself.
Sadly the bar is now closed but the sentiment most likely lives on...!
