  • On 9th December 1999, the 1st leg of the 1999 Suntory
    Championship was played at the Yamaha Stadium in Iwata. Júbilo Iwata (blue & white) hosted Suntory Championship
    debutants Shimizu S-Pulse (orange), While Júbilo had comfortably topped
    the First Stage of the 1999 season, it was Shimizu who were carrying all
    the momentum into the Final, after winning eleven of their final fifteen games, while
    Júbilo only managed to win four. Could Júbilo make their Championship

    This penalty was badly marked, meaning that Shimizu's defender was outside the area. Happy to be able to see these classic games, I grew up playing Jleague on Playstation 1, and being able to see the players and the old matches is really cool. Love Shimizu S-Pulse.
