Phoolan devi was my dad's friend, they met after she joined politics. I grew up listening to her stories. Dad always talks about her pet dog, and love she had for dogs. Even after being a bandit, she was a very warm-hearted woman. Amazingly explained.

I read the novel back in 2006-2007 when I was in my boarding school. The Phulan Devi novel was the most famous novel in my hostel. Honestly speaking I was very very impressed by her personality and her strength. Despite the difficulties, she was so strong as a rock.

Bruhh i know her she literally came to my father's house to meet my family members (when my father was in his teenage or something or maybe he wasn't born at that time actually I don't know properly) but yeah she was really a kindhearted and brave person. I literally feel so bad for her after hearing her whole life story she might have suffered too much, and jab ek baar me Rajasthan jaa rhi thi tab raaste me chambal pdti hai and my parents and grandparents literally told me about her that she was a danku when she was alive.

I have already watched 'Bandit Queen ' And was really shocked because I thought it was fictional but when I got know it was all real, very triggering, I couldn't bare watching it,
the scenes were so realistic.
Whenever I watch any kdrama or bollywood badass character, it encourages me to be bold but real cases of like 'Phoolan Devi', Junko , Ankita bhandari and many more just scare me

Even after she surrender and later joined politics she continued her fame by crushing the upper castes who had no power to fight against her. In one case an whole village of bhagalpur was attacked by bsp workers and she supported it by saying "these are upper castes people if you wouldn't do something they would do the same thing that happened to me"( ye brahminbad/thakurbad log hain inka illaj nhi kiya gaya toh ye humme jeene nhi denge)
Later the genocides of "so called" upper caste had begun and many men, women and even children got killed by bsp workers because her provocative speeches. She just said that she will help lower caste people and help them in education. But she never done something very much for them also. Just used them as votebanks.
If that's your role model then i don't think any good about women who were supported genocides in the name of castes and religion.

My utmost respect for Devi Ji for whatever she did for the youth and was against child marriage. Being a robber and killing people is not justified but we can understand where this is coming from. The trauma she faced during her childhood and youth is a struggle in itself. May god bless her true soul.
