Phenomenal video guys! I’ve been waiting for this one for some time. I recommend doing a quick recap of how you ranked everything at the end of the video for a smaller tier list like this one. It’d be a good wrap up that gives you guys the chance to make any last minute moves
Thank you! We used to do those, but cut the recaps for runtime issues. We'll certainly take that into consideration though for the shorter lists in the future.
Now you all got me interested in the High Republic era. I've been told about it for a few years now but I haven't really went out my way to check it out as I've been given mixed reviews that it's good or not.
We both have greatly enjoyed most of what the High Republic has to offer. The adult novels in particular have been great. Our favorites are Light of the Jedi, The Rising Storm, The Fallen Star, Cataclysm, and The Eye of Darkness so far! Everything else has mostly been solid. There are the occasional duds, but they don't hurt the overall high quality of the initiative in our opinion. Glad you're going to check the initiative out!

@@starwarslads As you can probably tell from my list, I’m not a huge fan of the prequels overall. I agree the Clone Wars is the best of it but have found the mystery surrounding them, as hinted at in the OT and explored in pre-1999 Expanded Universe stories, to be far more compelling. Those open-ended hints allowed for uniquely personal interpretations, which I believe held much greater value than the explanations provided later. A shame for those who grew up after the prequels came out and will most likely never understand this 😔

It us for many the best books series and it is just so refreshing and mature : Great and original villains , iconic characters ( the solo childs, nom anor, tahiri, ganner rhysode, vergere...) and overall just an épic storytelling that include some of the very best SW books ( Traitor, Vector prime, Star by Star , The unifying force...) I do respect your choice but it pains me to ses this era bellow the cannon new republic ...
If it was solely dealing with NJO it's probably higher, The Unifying Force is a beloved finale for a reason. But since it includes LotF and FotJ, those series put together do drop the collective ranking for us.
Interesting list. As for legacy, there’s an excellent fan series of novels titled legacies edge that fills in the gap there, which in my opinion is some of the best Star Wars I’ve ever read. Looks like i need to read way way more novels, just the canon ones. I read one Timothy Zahn book, i think his 1st on. It has luke as tbe main guy again. I wanna learn way more abput sith, they are incredibly way more complicated and it's hard to understand. The last star wars movie totally screwed up explaining things with palpatine suddenly coming back from the dead and the whole thi g with tbe coincidence that he needed rey to possess her bidy but then kylo ren suddenly is revealed to have the same force connections so palpatine could restore himself baco to 100%, i mean wtf kind of ot writing was that? And what's messed up, tgat was tbe best of the 3 newer movies or last movie based on that arc.
The only thing I know of the high republic is those short animations on RUclips and all of those videos to me are cringe worthy, none of the characters or stories appealed to me at all
I think it depends on how u determine ur ranking/what u look for in it, the story telling and creative ideas are really well done in high republic, though I definitely find it far less interesting or exciting then pretty much an other era, so I can see both sides of the argument there
In my opinion the High Republic beats the Old Republic. The Old Republic has more potential, but as it is right now it's basically just the prequel era with more Sith. It lacks the creativity of the High Republic.
Those are fair points. We feel that it’s tough to rank The High Republic amongst the S-tier eras of Star Wars until it wraps up with The Acolyte next month and the end of Phase 3 next year. Appreciate your High Republic love though!
