@@maryann33335i don't think Henry actually deserved to die. I know he threw elode into the casm, but you could see in his face how he hesitated the moment he was supposed to do it. And in my opinion, he kind of made up for it when he at least tried to save her sister from the same fate. Had the sister been here when Elode confronted him, I bet she would have vouched for Henry and tried to convince her to give him a second chance.

See, i disagree. To a point it is actually groundbreaking. Okay, princess and dragon shtick, a dime a dozen. But dragons always always always either eat the princess or trap her. The princess never climbs out of the hole and tames the dragon. The princess never gets to have that final confrontation with the family that locked her away. She always goes from being locked up to "you're free! Now go get married and produce an heir, preferably a son." I think this was a very refreshing take. The princess never gets to save herself, she always has to rely on someone else. She had no one else here, she had to rely on her own strength, willpower and grit.

    • @MangaPup
      @MangaPup 3 месяца назад +7

@@redvalentinos1933 idk what princess movies you've been watching but the princess saving herself or her family or home isn't relatively new lol. Disney for example, hasn't really done a "damsel in distress" fr since their earlier couple princesses imo. And even then it's fine because...variety. Once Upon A Time , and more. The part of this movie that was actually unpredictable to me was that she teamed up with the dragon rather than killing it.
But yeah the ppl that keep on complaining about "oh those stories about princesses needing help" or whatever dont seem like they've actually watched much about princesses since the 80s or something lol.

    • @Digitalfairy

@@redvalentinos1933 Except her own little sister, her stepmother and that would-be victim... and the freaked out servants were rescued by the heroine herself.
And... the dragon could've easily just eaten Elodie out of hunger/rage.... yet spared Elodie because the latter told her the truth. In the end Elodie gambled with her own survival against a vengeful creature and won.
But I'll be honest I like classic princess tales, but it's cool to see a princess be both feminine and heroic all at once.

She spent nearly the entire movie trying to get away from the dragon, she didn't try to fight it until the very end when she was trying to save her sister, even though her father's sword was right by his body, she didn't take it and slay the dragon. She made mistake after mistake, which is not the definition of a Mary Sue.

The maid didn't need to be told twice, I see, and with their knowledge of the palace floor plan they are likely among the few who escaped alive.

Am I beginning to see a pattern here?
    Mission: Impossible 7
Elodie: Your life will always matter to me than my own.
Other princess: You don't even know me.
Elodie: What difference does that make?
Oath to the IMF: “We live and die in the shadows, for those we hold close, and for those we never meet.”
Valerie's letter in V for Vendetta: Even though I don't know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you. I love you, with all my heart. I love you.
Scarlet Witch in Multiverse of Madness: “All this for a child you met yesterday?”
Agatha to a random lady in Minority Report: He knows. Don’t go home.

Full of blood and dirt..in a ragged cloth...i was really stunned HOW beautyful Millie Bobby Brown is...
A real beauty, healthy and powerful...not such a skinny thing with lollypop-shape!
I was impressed of her acting-arts since she played in "Stranger things" as "Elfie" or Eleven..

I like the way the guy tried to make himself the victim after literally trying to murder her AND her sister. It’s the same as in the Promising Young Woman…men do something horrible and then they play the part of victim when confronted and I won’t lie. Sometimes it works. Like I could definitely see the woe is me routine working and her saving him but killing the “evil” family but he had a choice too and he chose to kill girls for his family so I’m
Glad there was no forgiveness as far as he is concerned
