I keep listening to this and thinking of my Mom. She passed away 5 years ago. When the vocals come in I lose it. I think she would have had fun dancing to this. She smiled a lot when she danced. I wish I hadn't been so difficult.
I lost my grandmother, who was basically my mom and I know how you feel. Your mother walks with god now. My grandmother, too. It's greater journey than any of us will know in the mortal realm.
My favorite RPG all the times. I love the segment when the women sing, really feels the happiness in Lahan Village when there is a party, but now...the village already gone...
The way the song is the most goosebumps inducing moment when it concludes in shouts cheers laughter and then chatter like some kind of Sunday afternoon church potluck. It brings such down home vibes that it's tear inducing for me. That whole togetherness and having a good time feeling.
Is it weird I listen to this a lot around Christmas? My family has Irish roots, and I usually see them around the holidays, so Celtic music just makes me think of Christmas.
My favorite game of all time. Every single bit of it felt so deliberately perfected and polished, even if disc 2 was on the rushed side. The story is deeper than anything else I’ve experienced and the music ties it together so amazingly. This version of the Lahan theme and the creid version of melkaba are absolutely perfect version of already amazing songs
The game was finished (It had a beginning and end), but it wasn't completed due to lack of resources and time (Even if it had a beginning and end, it was rushed to hell and back, and there were many parts that had to be cut out of the narrative to finish on time. Despite that, however, Xenogears still manages to have a proper beginning and end to it's story, so technically, it was finished, just not completed).
@@TheRebornExpert I agree. I think when most people say "unfinished" they're talking about disc 2 and how it's clearly "incomplete" and stitched together. However I do applaud them for actually doing so and working with what they have to resolve the plot to it's conclusion. Many games literally just stop where they are and leave it on a cliffhanger, for a sequel that never comes.
The whole album is great, the ability to take an already acclaimed soundtrack and improve upon it alone is incredible. But this song specifically... even though it's the second to last song, it seems like the entire album builds to this. When the vocals come it, there is this weirdly climactic feeling. I say 'weirdly' because the song (like mos the album) has a specific down to earth feel. The celtic inspiration brings up adjectives like 'pastoral', 'homey', a sense of a small village celebration... so ending (I know, penultimately ending it) it with the 'small village song' is perfect. Creid took the simple starting village song and made it a finale. Or more simply put, instead of 'town of departure', this version gives a feeling of finally coming back home. And having the whole town join in celebration.
@kamuirsx Yeah I loved the chorus and the fact that they added the part where the orchestra(?) players are happily chatting to each other-giving it a village-like feel at the end. This is a village I'd wanna live in. XD
What I loved most is that the graphics weren't actually "underdeveloped" but were actually made to spec. They wanted the graphics to be more of anime detail. That part I liked. I loved the cut scenes and I loved the music. To be honest, I only have one problem with this game and it was all control based and nothing more.
In a way, I really appreciated the underdeveloped graphics. Game developers relied more on enveloping plotlines, good music, and good dialogue (even if it was just written) to set moods. Video games back then were just so much more personal; they hit a deeper note. I mean, it was like being inside of a book, really. Because for the most part, you were playing it in your head, fleshing out scenes and such subconsciously. It was great :)
@dissident93 as long as people enjoy the music, that's all that matters and this whole album was just as amazing as the OST. Between this one and "June Mermaid" were my favorites with "Spring Lullaby" following in third :D.
meh, back then xenogears graphics were good and people cared about them. today im glad xenogears looked the way it did. it bugs me when people downplay graphics as if they add nothing to the experience.
@kamuirsx I think many older gamers who grew up playing NES,SNES,etc also have the same thought. It makes me sad seeing the young so-called gamers keep bitching about graphics and showing disrespect towards other players( i remember back then, when sum1 talked about games, everyone suddenly became good friends lol). I pity those kids who didn't get to play classic masterpiece too. OLDIES ARE GOODIES!
@goldman77700 Same here. In fact, the original Lahan was okay with me but never really stood out as anything super good. This version is just so much better. I would have loved for an alternate version of "Tears of the Stars, Hearts of the People" and "Flight" but I guess we'll have to drag Yasunori Mitsuda away from his current projects and force him to compose them :D
@puffyheaven Same here but unfortunately, we are the minority of the current gamers. They want the most realistic graphics possible with crappy stories and mediocre music.

Amlooms sorry for your lost mate. She'll be dancing all around in the Heaven

Teach others, then, to love the gifts of life. Then, one day...we can all dance together.

I'm so glad that this album was acknowledged in the 20th Anniversary Concert of Xenogears.
Is it weird I listen to this a lot around Christmas? My family has Irish roots, and I usually see them around the holidays, so Celtic music just makes me think of Christmas.
I think not, it's perfectly normal to want to pay respects to your heritage, especially at a special time such as Christmas!
This song and Spring Lullaby (oddly) aound Christmasy to me, the sleigh bells in Spring Lullaby especially.

This is by far one of the best works of music I've heard in my life. I bought this album about 10 years ago and never lost my love for it.
So much heart in this track and that game. I really wish it had been finished. Such fond memories.

I like this much much better than the original. There's so much "life" in this version. I would've loved to seen a Creid Version for "Flight".
Late as hell, but there is a Creid version of "Flight", it's called Spring Lullaby.
@@TheRebornExpert Thank ya.
Anytime. Personally, I like this version better than "My Village Is Number One" on the original Xenogears OST.
Thank you for the tracks. never heard these versions before.
Beautiful masterpiece!

i miss the good old days...back then graphics wasn't so important compared to gameplay, storyline and soundtrack
