I couldve also mentioned attacks however the only attack that hits multiple enemies would be linebounce and that works on enemies that aren't spiky so atm attacks that do multiple attacks on multiple enemies wouldnt be comparable with the swords. short explanation is that on average the swords do less than 1 dmg per turn (includes building up sword energy), the ice dagger will be useless as there’s cards/items for hp and sp and ghostwalker if the sword isn’t a upgrade to phase from lucky start, will be not that great (phase from lucky start has a bad chance of making enemies miss attacks). However, there are many other attacks/items that do better than the swords. I compare bombs mostly because they do 3 dmg (4 with item+) in 1 turn to all enemies which can be bought for cheap at the beginning of the game. I find it funny how a bomb that can be purchased at the start of the game does more dmg average than the swords (as average turns look like 6 turns for 5 dmg with venomshank and for 1 sword energy vs bomb doing 3-4 dmg in one turn and 10 dmg + weakened attack in 11 turns + 2 sword energy vs 3-4 dmg in 1 turn.) Brooooo.... those swords aren't even on the game yet and we are already trashing them... also on preview 1 it's shown that there is a card called deep focus which makes you recover more SE, so it isn't as hard to get SE as you may think. And even then if they are still bad they will probably be rebalanced, I agree that as of right now they don't seem that good but jeez you don't have to already be talking trash about something that isn't even available yet.

And also next demo we are only getting chapter 2, ghostwalker and firebrand are coming wayyy later + the swords are VERY likely to get rebalanced with time, just because they look bad now doesn't mean that when they get released they will still be this bad.
I think firebrand should be an offensive ice dagger where it’s like dynamite but a aoe or increases your party’s damage for some turns, ignites enemies on hit and gives sp regeneration. The Ghost walker could probably make you invulnerable for a couple of turns for attacks that hit hard that you don’t know how to counter and gives defense penetration. Venomshank could probably give regeneration for the party, weaken the enemy while poisoning them, lowering their defense and making them sickly. Just some ideas
I think the swords should be powerful and act more like an ultimate than anything. Make it harder to earn se but have the effects be powerful and the amount of se you put into one sword, it’ll make it’s effect much more potent so you could use it at 1 se for its base effects or use up all of your se bars for a even more powerful effect. Or use multiple swords, I don’t know
darkheart will probably be the lifesteal one. venomshank is here now and ghostwalker probably gives you the phase effect that lucky start can give you.
The new swords aren’t final from what I’ve been told. The reason why the new swords do their own special things is because they are just placeholders for the time being. Again the swords special attack are going to change if I remember correctly from what I was told, but even if they aren’t changed. They’re still cool to use ngl imo (:
In my opinion, the crossroads should be more used in these chapters. • C1 should be just Blackrock Castle. • C2 should be reserved for the Mountain area of the crossroads. You'd find a few signs of a zombie outbreak, and you could even make some parallels to Earthbound by making the mountain itself into a lab-like outpost where the bad guys are. (The guy that would be a parallel to Belch would flee after being defeated.) • C3 should continue the line of the previous chapter, with the haunted mansion still being in the mountain area, just closer to the outpost segment of the Crossroads and away from the jungle. The zombies would get stronger and the Belch wannabe would be fought and slain. • C4 should be fully in the outpost area, with a western theme. There, you'd find outlaws around the outpost and you would eventually liberate a town next to the main building. The main building itself could also act as a market, too, or a bank. (Like being able to exchange tix for bux.) • C5 should not be The Heights. It should be lab and take place in the Tower. By this point, you could make a lot of Mother 3 references in this chapter. (Chapter 5 being towers, chimera laboratories, etc...) • C6 should be skylands, whatever that is. Maybe making this an access point to The Heights would be good. • C7 should be The Heights, rising from the skylands and into the deep beyond. This should be where the Darkheart is obtained. • C8 should still be space. I would want the sword order to be: • Ice Dagger •Venomshank • Ghostwalker (Haunted mansion theme) • Firebrand (idk maybe the heat fits with the western theme) • Illumina • Windforce • Darkheart
Ngl, these abilities don't seem that bad, but i'd say there should be an addition to venomshank to make it more unique to the firebrand I would say, that upon using it, the duration of any debuffs on enemies are also renewed to full duration along with the damage and poison status
Do you understand that the game is litteraly inspired by Paper Mario 64 and Earthbound and if you played the Paper mario 64 there is thing called "star power" which has the same gimmic but you only get the charge when it became your turn and it doesn't go to 0 like the "sword energy" does in block tales.
I dont get how these seem trash, i play a decent amount of turn-based and firebrands ability seems really good and kinda work like a full aoe debilitate like in other turn based

Guys don’t be so sure about this because most likely the devs will buff it in the future or in the next update which is demo 2 and remember this is not a final product (if it is)
The benefits for having the swords: + *Cards, cards, cards.* Many cards lock out options that deny access to abilities or weapons, with the two committing ones being Knight and Baller. The swords in the video moreso affect Knight (Increases sword damage, but disables ball). Let’s say that you are fighting several winged enemies (tend to come from 3-5 HP), with little to no SP and absolutely no bombs since your inventory is stocked up with healing items. You could spend time regaining your SP, then using it every time for Sword Throw, but that involves a lot of blocking. So do the other option; focus twice, let the enemies take their turn once, and then kill them all with Venomshank. If the initial damage dealt from Venomshank does not kill them, then you can always defend long enough for them to be affected by the poison. Match this with Defend SP to regain much more SP while doing so. As for FIrebrand, this would be great for proccing multiple enemies at once. The most notable place to use this is the infamous Pit floors 19 and 29. These will be long drawn-out battles where the enemies are extremely tanky, and not to mention they have defense that will reduce the overall effects of your attacks. Using Firebrand will decrease their attack strength (due that they normally deal more than 8 damage), along with proccing fire, which is a guaranteed 3 damage for each enemy. Plus, the attack debuff lasts for 6 turns. You can turn the tides, and once the heals are done, buff yourself so that once their buffs vanish, beat the sense out of them. + *Passive Damage.* An overall underrated mechanic. Dealing damage over time is much like buffing your next attack to deal an extra 1 damage for a set amount of turns. Of course, there are immunities and proc chances, but these swords are meant to be used either to support (Icedagger or Ghostwalker) or deal AoE Proc / Damage (the other two).

The bomb got a massive nerf (and storn tea) and i dont think the sword are ment to be something that can make the game insanely easy there ment to be storng not godly currently i think the sword are pretty ballenced expect ghosrwalker it seems very weak
my prediction on the story after kicking griefers schizophrenic ass, we were told by terry to go to back to the hq in order to practice the venomshank with shedletsky, after doing that, he told us the next sword: ghostwalker which takes place in his mansion. we use the boat the one next to the lilypad and off we go CHAPTER 3 - scare datash after quite a long time, we have finally arrived to the mansion: Telamon's haunted mansion, now in theory: i think we are going to beat the hell out of telamon's spirit and collect the ghost walker. the enemies i think will come are halloween related like zombies, vampires or spiders now on to the next one Firebrand after beating telamon's spirit which probably also has schizophrenia like ch 1 and ch 2, we were called again to get back to shedletsky and practice again. then suddenly, a bunch of random ass enemies came and captured us for defeating one of the developers. then we were taken to the banlands. where all people were banned. CHAPTER 4 - get datash we then realized that there is a sword here which is good???? and we break out and get the sword. now i think the next common enemies might be some guards and more guards or idk im not a psychic or anything WINDFORCE so after escaping shedletsky told us the new ability which is flying only applied to ghostwalker. cause its like a ghost-walker so we prob walk up to the skies, then we go to the sfoth game and here we are CHAPTER 5 - weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee we probably have to fight everyone in this chapter like a series of round and take on the antagonist that is prob a boss fight but we need to find some item to destroy datash and after we are done we actually fight him/her to get the sword. DARK-HEART so after that, we got a mysterious button only to realize that shedletsky know what is it. it leads to an underground lab and there we go to the library CHAPTER 6 - emo stereotype so after going underground blah blah blah blah we take on boss fight who is probably drugged and has schizophrenia ILLUMINA we go up again CHAPTER 7 - final "blow" hhahahaahahahahhahahaha yeah im tired of doing this ATTENTION: This is a joke and no offense. this is just my prediction
Oh okay I think it depends on what cards you wanna use in RPG survival ( Strategy ) for example, defense, strength, and maybe team player Allie Effects, ether you wanna do this in normal difficulty or hardcore difficulty?
Doubt anyways with Firebrand the lowering attack damage will be useful, we literally dodge/counter. Idk really what to say about these sword abilities because it doesn't tell how much damage per tick turn deals since for example we have Epic Sauce item that buffs the player with fire effect just how free poison does and the burn effect deals 2 each turn so for 3 turns it deals 6 damage total. We likely going see how much the fire effect will deal along with venomshank in the future.
I think the reason why bombs are better than the new swords is because most people focus on healing and sp, 3 damage for all enemies for all enemies is cool but atleast the swords are not paid eith tix... (I hope they dont make bomb more expensive ;-;)
The venomshank does pretty good damage for 1 se. Bro firebrand deals 4 damage to all enemies and they lower their Atk. That’s worth 2 se. I mean ghostwalker maybe not worth 2 se but it’s still pretty good.
Bombs deal 2 recoil damage now so overusing them is unviable. sure you can heal hp but like he said you can only hold 10 items. Only counter for this is probably stacking happy hp cards for healing every other turn and spamming cure/ice dagger.

You can't really judge these ability until they're in the game. Also I don't see the issue with sword number 3 it's normal progression if you play paper Mario you know how these abilities work this is normal. Now these swords aren't even in the game yet so we can't really say much until the actually in the game. But I will say that you're overreacting in these abilities are still good you just need to find a good strategy with them

well it doesnt say it does 2 damage per poison hit on the leaks so i'm both sure and guessing that the poison will work how poison normally works at the moment (ingame rn it's 1 dmg per poison turn)

not true. Items can be changed with item+, and swords at the moment stay the same with 0 change. The only change that was leaked is perhaps a card that increases focus that is coming out in a future chapter (not expecting it to be released before chapter 3+). So pretty much stat changes has nothing to do with swords or items as bp is at a cap of 30 and for swords there is no changes, for items there’s only item+ for 5 bux
I know that you are talking about +attack however I don’t believe that +attack will effect the swords because +attack doesn’t effect items and the swords should only be set values. I will find out if it does get affected by +attack with devs though
The darkheart would probably have an icon of two swords. And mostly black. I forgot what buffs darkheart gives you in sfoth but any buff the swords give in sfoth might be a buff to some se cards.

My guesses/ideas: Illumina: deal 5 or 6 damage to every enemy and become reflective (higher chance of not being hit) for 5 turns (idk kinda bad but gotta keep the theme of the other swords) Windforce: lower defense of all enemies to 0 for 3 turns and apply dizzy to all of them also for 3 turns Darkheart: Entire party steals 10 health from every enemy (I know it’s confusing but each team member will only get 10 health back even though it should be around 40 with that description) and make the strongest enemy dizzy

Pretty much the swords aren’t worth using unless you don’t have bomb/storm tea to use against multiple enemies? Because the sword energy takes time to build and on turn average value, you get less damage then if you used a bomb/storm tea?

I give a supe good idea for some of this swords like my coment so (this RUclipsr) can send this comment to developers. Soo let's start with a fire sword mechanic of this sword is charge the power. (You know how big this sword) You use 1 sp to sumon the fire sword and can't atack the enemy normal you need to chose or you power the sword or you hit the enemy and continue with your normal mowes. So powering up this sword you need more sp max of 3 sp when you on first 1sp sumon sword on second use (2sp) ignite the sword and on (3sp) sword start Glow witch mean you must use it or you go again to 2sp Soo the damage stat for example on 1sp it deal 6 dmg and put fire efect on 3-4 turns witch deal 1 dmg on the 2sp you double the power and fire dmg now deal more dmg 3-4 turn 2 dmg and on 3sp it triple the efect witch is max witch deal 30 dmg on max (whitch is not true cus i just wanna show some funny numbers) AND of course you CAN'T buff for Absolutely nothing for example youre friend give you a pie when you got 3sp fire sword whitch still deal 30 dmg. (The way im too lasy soo you maybe understand what i mean)

i kinda think that the swords abviable on space would be periastrons. just think of it, if you've checked the periastrons in the marketplace then you know that most of the descriptions of the periastrons end on "... on space!!"
Looking at some of the leaked Swords (which I am gonna say don't count on these being real) I can confidentally say: That the devs are very stingy about giving the players any damage boosts. Illumina boosts attack power by 1.5x. Except it costs 6 SWORD ENERGY????? (Again the leaks are probably not real but either way i find it amusing just How stingy the devs are about damage buffs

The benefits for having the swords:
+ *Cards, cards, cards.* Many cards lock out options that deny access to abilities or weapons, with the two committing ones being Knight and Baller. The swords in the video moreso affect Knight (Increases sword damage, but disables ball).
Let’s say that you are fighting several winged enemies (tend to come from 3-5 HP), with little to no SP and absolutely no bombs since your inventory is stocked up with healing items. You could spend time regaining your SP, then using it every time for Sword Throw, but that involves a lot of blocking. So do the other option; focus twice, let the enemies take their turn once, and then kill them all with Venomshank. If the initial damage dealt from Venomshank does not kill them, then you can always defend long enough for them to be affected by the poison. Match this with Defend SP to regain much more SP while doing so.
As for FIrebrand, this would be great for proccing multiple enemies at once. The most notable place to use this is the infamous Pit floors 19 and 29. These will be long drawn-out battles where the enemies are extremely tanky, and not to mention they have defense that will reduce the overall effects of your attacks. Using Firebrand will decrease their attack strength (due that they normally deal more than 8 damage), along with proccing fire, which is a guaranteed 3 damage for each enemy. Plus, the attack debuff lasts for 6 turns. You can turn the tides, and once the heals are done, buff yourself so that once their buffs vanish, beat the sense out of them.
+ *Passive Damage.* An overall underrated mechanic. Dealing damage over time is much like buffing your next attack to deal an extra 1 damage for a set amount of turns. Of course, there are immunities and proc chances, but these swords are meant to be used either to support (Icedagger or Ghostwalker) or deal AoE Proc / Damage (the other two).

my prediction on the story
after kicking griefers schizophrenic ass, we were told by terry to go to back to the hq in order to practice the venomshank with shedletsky, after doing that, he told us the next sword: ghostwalker which takes place in his mansion. we use the boat the one next to the lilypad and off we go
CHAPTER 3 - scare datash
after quite a long time, we have finally arrived to the mansion: Telamon's haunted mansion, now in theory: i think we are going to beat the hell out of telamon's spirit and collect the ghost walker. the enemies i think will come are halloween related like zombies, vampires or spiders now on to the next one
Firebrand
after beating telamon's spirit which probably also has schizophrenia like ch 1 and ch 2, we were called again to get back to shedletsky and practice again. then suddenly, a bunch of random ass enemies came and captured us for defeating one of the developers. then we were taken to the banlands. where all people were banned.
CHAPTER 4 - get datash
we then realized that there is a sword here which is good???? and we break out and get the sword. now i think the next common enemies might be some guards and more guards or idk im not a psychic or anything
WINDFORCE
so after escaping shedletsky told us the new ability which is flying only applied to ghostwalker. cause its like a ghost-walker so we prob walk up to the skies, then we go to the sfoth game and here we are
CHAPTER 5 - weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
we probably have to fight everyone in this chapter like a series of round and take on the antagonist that is prob a boss fight but we need to find some item to destroy datash and after we are done we actually fight him/her to get the sword.

so after that, we got a mysterious button only to realize that shedletsky know what is it. it leads to an underground lab and there we go to the library
CHAPTER 6 - emo stereotype
so after going underground blah blah blah blah we take on boss fight who is probably drugged and has schizophrenia

The demo 2 I out venomshank is underrated and they needed bombs making it horrible in my opinion
Doubt anyways with Firebrand the lowering attack damage will be useful, we literally dodge/counter. Idk really what to say about these sword abilities because it doesn't tell how much damage per tick turn deals since for example we have Epic Sauce item that buffs the player with fire effect just how free poison does and the burn effect deals 2 each turn so for 3 turns it deals 6 damage total. We likely going see how much the fire effect will deal along with venomshank in the future.

The venomshank does pretty good damage for 1 se. Bro firebrand deals 4 damage to all enemies and they lower their Atk. That’s worth 2 se. I mean ghostwalker maybe not worth 2 se but it’s still pretty good.
Bombs deal 2 recoil damage now so overusing them is unviable. sure you can heal hp but like he said you can only hold 10 items. Only counter for this is probably stacking happy hp cards for healing every other turn and spamming cure/ice dagger.

They need tweaking and testing before going into the game. That's how games work.
You can't really judge these ability until they're in the game. Also I don't see the issue with sword number 3 it's normal progression if you play paper Mario you know how these abilities work this is normal. Now these swords aren't even in the game yet so we can't really say much until the actually in the game. But I will say that you're overreacting in these abilities are still good you just need to find a good strategy with them

Actually they don’t suck because items are not effected by stat changes (enemy or player) but the swords CAN be changed by stat changes
not true. Items can be changed with item+, and swords at the moment stay the same with 0 change. The only change that was leaked is perhaps a card that increases focus that is coming out in a future chapter (not expecting it to be released before chapter 3+). So pretty much stat changes has nothing to do with swords or items as bp is at a cap of 30 and for swords there is no changes, for items there’s only item+ for 5 bux
I know that you are talking about +attack however I don’t believe that +attack will effect the swords because +attack doesn’t effect items and the swords should only be set values. I will find out if it does get affected by +attack with devs though
the venomshank in demo 2 got buffed and now its pretty good for clearing out pits or just in general

My guesses/ideas:
Illumina: deal 5 or 6 damage to every enemy and become reflective (higher chance of not being hit) for 5 turns (idk kinda bad but gotta keep the theme of the other swords)
Windforce: lower defense of all enemies to 0 for 3 turns and apply dizzy to all of them also for 3 turns
Darkheart: Entire party steals 10 health from every enemy (I know it’s confusing but each team member will only get 10 health back even though it should be around 40 with that description) and make the strongest enemy dizzy

I give a supe good idea for some of this swords like my coment so (this RUclipsr) can send this comment to developers. Soo let's start with a fire sword mechanic of this sword is charge the power. (You know how big this sword) You use 1 sp to sumon the fire sword and can't atack the enemy normal you need to chose or you power the sword or you hit the enemy and continue with your normal mowes. So powering up this sword you need more sp max of 3 sp when you on first 1sp sumon sword on second use (2sp) ignite the sword and on (3sp) sword start Glow witch mean you must use it or you go again to 2sp Soo the damage stat for example on 1sp it deal 6 dmg and put fire efect on 3-4 turns witch deal 1 dmg on the 2sp you double the power and fire dmg now deal more dmg 3-4 turn 2 dmg and on 3sp it triple the efect witch is max witch deal 30 dmg on max (whitch is not true cus i just wanna show some funny numbers) AND of course you CAN'T buff for Absolutely nothing for example youre friend give you a pie when you got 3sp fire sword whitch still deal 30 dmg. (The way im too lasy soo you maybe understand what i mean)

i kinda think that the swords abviable on space would be periastrons. just think of it, if you've checked the periastrons in the marketplace then you know that most of the descriptions of the periastrons end on "... on space!!"
Looking at some of the leaked Swords (which I am gonna say don't count on these being real) I can confidentally say: That the devs are very stingy about giving the players any damage boosts. Illumina boosts attack power by 1.5x. Except it costs 6 SWORD ENERGY????? (Again the leaks are probably not real but either way i find it amusing just How stingy the devs are about damage buffs
