I had a new M-2600 back around 1989 to use with my speakers and my new ENSONIQ EPS workstation. I still have the receipt for the Peavey. I still have my keyboard too stashed away in a closet. Slightly outdated. It has an inherent startup issue that I just didn't bother getting fixed.
Gracias saludos
Nice work on a terribly neglected amp (but I wouldn't have powered it up myself before cleaning it). Glued-down op amp noted! I have recently obtained a very clean PV 1500. Its fan goes into high speed and heatsinks are quite hot after a few minutes without any signal, so I think the bias may be set too high. Schematic gives no hint of suggested bias current, nor Re voltage, so I am wondering what you might suggest it should be at idle.
My old primary school had a old peavy PA system, it was on one of those cheapish all in one bundles that had a mixer/ amplifier, two passive 15’ tops, one mic and all the cables needed. The mixer with the built in amp was terrible, every 5 minutes it would switch it’s off to prevent over heating. Dispute all the equipment being designed by peavy, the amp was poorly designed as it one tiny fan and 1/4 ‘ jacks as the out put instead of audiocon.
@@redking7051 Yeah, I know luckily it only got used a couple of times a year. One for sports day and the other for the end of school year summer fair. And for both events it would normally be on a hot day out side. I always remember the teachers trying to get it to work, not knowing a thing about sound. They would always conclude that the “speakers are broken” and then would give up on the sound system and put it away for next year and not lucking into the issue any further.
I feel like I've been at this for an eternity; Peavey was selling the PV amps back when I was in college, in the mid-2000's.

wow that desolder job on that opamp was savage. glue or not you would have most likely pulled a pad. get some low temp alloy solder. thank me later

That would have be terrible to actually use during event 😅

Hey can you help me why my peavy 2600 turn off and on while im doing live performance
Probably bad solder or dusty fan blocking airflow
Please thank you
Does it have anything to do with the power board?
@@iramblanco71 it might, but you gotta have to undo the whole thing
You should’ve cleaned the fan grill
What is the max watt input
Do you mean output?
2 x 900W RMS @ 4 ohms, 540W RMS @ 8 ohms, or 1800W RMS bridged mono
stesso problema , tl072 ? ( same problem , tl072 ? )
Yep, they are the same Pinout as the original.
Hey my 2600 it turns off on me while I'm doing live performances why? Can you help please
@@iramblanco71 high temperature? low speaker impedance?
Just for sell :D
