I can firm that this is a easy fix and it work perfect again. I will have to say I am surprised that it last 4 years. I had a very pleasant surprise when i pulled it from the bezel. The battery had burst... No damage and it made it easier to split the case of the tablet. Thanks again for this awesome video!!! Saved me over $400!!!!
Glad to hear it! Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic video. Took mine apart. Instead of soldering the battery directly to the unit. I added the connector that comes on The battery so I can pop in a new battery without soldering next time. Fantastic video. It was spot on.
Thank you, great tip.
I just replaced mine following your exact procedure. It seems to already have solved all of the sluggishness! Great video keep them up please
Very nice! I am hoping the replacement battery will last longer.
This is very helpful. I would very much like to see how I could replace the BMPro tablet entirely with an android tablet connected via Bluetooth, which could be placed anywhere. You asked if there was interest in this - I am very interested, and I think others would be also. The "holy grail" would be to sort out the actual Bluetooth communication protocol so that people could write their own app on their own chosen platform.
I hear you, great point. Here's a video I did on adding a 2nd higher quality tablet:
ruclips.net/video/xN6H-_tu6Vk/видео.htmlsi=_urgoyGIZEpgJMcv
Basically I wanted to retain the OEM cloud functionality, which the original OEM tablet is needed for, but I wanted a more robust tablet so the 2nd connects via bluetooth and is more robust.
I just took my 2020 BMPRO tablet apart because it was no longer holding a charge and the battery was really swollen looking like it was about to explode. Thank you for the links on Amazon as I used one to order a new battery. I did notice the screen starting to seperate from the tablet after I removed it from the wall so I did expect the swollen battery, but I was suprised at how fat it got. I might look at getting the recieving plug that will fit the plug the battery comes with and wire that in as it looks like this will need to be replaced every couple of years.
Good points. Apparently the internal battery is weak point. I've heard the newer ones are direct wired with no battery...probably the way to go long term.
First off thank you for the video. If you are having trouble getting the battery loose because of the glue you can heat it up a little with a heat gun or hair drier. Carefully though. I learned that from my cellphone. Having worked with R/c stuff I knew I could up the milliamp hours ( Mah) on the battery to give me a little reserve cushion if it would fit. That is the only spec you can change the voltage 3.7v needs to remain the same. So I found a battery that had 3000 Mah instead of 2500. It was a hair thicker and a hair wider than the original but fit almost perfect . It pushed the speaker up a hair but that wasn't a problem at all. It fit nice and snug so it won't be moving around. I soldered mine to circuit board it was just easier for me. It went back together easy and works perfect Thanks again. Here is the link to the battery. 407090 3.7V Lipo Battery 3000mAh 407090 Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery Pack with JST PH2.0mm Connector for Electronic Device
Thank you for tip
Thanks for this video. I just replaced my battery using your details last week and it's all happy again. (First time in over a year). I have a NP 2022 with a 'Covid" tablet with no buttons and it has not worked right from the get go.. Now Jayco is starting to accept the mess and I'm hearing of BMPro sending out new tablets under warranty and finally admitting there was an issue. Someone said it's a unit with NO battery. I think I'm in line to get one but time will tell. Thanks again, at least I'm up and running. (PS I didn't splice the wires, I melted them at the board and soldered the new wires right to the board. It worked......
Nice! Glad it all worked for you. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for this saved me 800 dollars it was a 20 minute 14 dollar repair
Glad to hear it. Thank you.
Thanks just finished watching and I have all the items ready to go including a new battery try do my own this coming Tuesday. Did it make s difference int the tablet operation and did it solve some of the issues you were having? I am having issues with mine just randomly disconnecting every now and then and me having to re Bluetooth it or it will get stuck in a pairing mode and I have to completely reboot the tablet.
Yes, for me so far replacing the battery has solved my issues. Going on three weeks now. Prior I noticed it was sluggish too with the Bluetooth issues and that's what tipped me off to the battery. It's been pretty reliable for me otherwise, so I think proactively replacing the battery for most folks in the 1-2 yr mark is the more cost effective route to go.
Thanks for the video i solved my problemw/it.
Glad to hear. Thank you.
The adhesive is a heat barrier I believe..great job bud
Interesting, did not know that. Thanks for sharing
Wondering how the battery replacement is working? Great video
I just sold the Pinnacle 2 months ago, but the battery replacement seemed to resolve all issues for me. I think the original battery was just a cheap cell and failed early.
I watched this video and replaced the battery on mine also and it work's perfect, thank"s for that one. Now I'm wanting to take the pop up electrical tower in the island out and upgrade/replace it with the one that has the wireless charger on top, I was just wondering if you did it and if so which one did you use?
Thank you, glad to hear. I used this one on mine:

@@AdventureRocksOk thank you very much.
Liking your videos on the Jaycommand/BMPRO. Are you using the tpms on the system? How do you have it displayed while going down the road? I am have problems having the monitoring up while driving. Cannot find the right combination of device to use with the program. It loses connection or the program crashes or cannot get the device screen to stay on. If it is working for you and see your setup might help me get this feature working like I need it. Thanks
Thank you, appreciate that! Yes on using the BMPRO TPMS. I actually have redudant TPMS as I also have the RAM OEM trailer TPMS installed inside the wheels (ruclips.net/video/IM1H-h259QE/видео.html). While I'm driving I tend to use the RAM TPMS 95% of time mainly as it shows up in my center cluster so easier to watch with eyes on road, but I do occasionally monitor the BMPRO app to watch tire pressure/temps as well. I have to be connected via Bluetooth on my phone and of course have the BMPRO app open on travel days so that it stays connected while driving. I have not had issues with the Bluetooth connection dropping, but I have noticed that sometimes 1 or 2 BMPRO TMPS sensors will quit reporting momentarily or intermittently go out...I think that's more an issue with the sensors communicating with the node. Otherwise they seem to be fairly reliable. The RAM TPMS seems to be more reliable while on the road so that's why I've been using those more. I've heard some reports of BMPRO users not getting great bluetooth reception from the node with phone...so not sure if it's due to placement of node in coach or different version of node? My reception has been great. Otherwise as far as app crashing...I've not noticed that on my phone (Pixel 7 Pro), but I know sometimes there are certain versions of Android or iOS combined with specific brands where a particular app just isn't as stable for some reason.
After going to your link I see that the battery is unavailable and not that I need it but just in case, so you sold your Pinnacle did you replaces it with another 5th wheel?
Try this battery here:

And yes on selling, we made a big change:

Did you turn the power off completely to your RV before you disconnected the tablet from the wall connection?
My apologies, but I cannot remember. It is low voltage though. Certainly wouldn't hurt to disconnect 12 volt power and 120 volt power either way.
How did the battery turn out? Holding charge well? Any issues?
Seems to have solved my issues. Apparently the OEM battery they sourced tends to go after 16-24 months and then the tablet defaults to implementing power-saving tactics causing performance issues.
Now that a few weeks have gone by, is it still working?
Yes! And seems to have solved all the glitchy and sluggish behavior I was encountering prior. Now it's smooth sailing again.
Can you link where to get the replacement battery?
Glad to. Here's the exact one I used in video:

My tablet is acting up and no longer reliable. Do you like the Lenovo tablet replacement? In the meantime, I'll give the battery replacement a try?
Yes, the Lenovo worked great for me as second tablet. Definitely like the idea of going with a name brand so to speak. Otherwise the battery replacement saved my OEM tablet.
There's a lot of sketchy battery vendors who shortchange you on capacity. I'd rather aim for a battery that meets the voltage requirements and then match the physical dimensions. If a batter of the same size claims to give you more amp hours all the better even if it really just matches what you need.
Great point!
Do you think the battery with the 5 mm thickness would fit inside?
Great question. I can't say for certain, but I would think given it's only about 1.2 mm larger than the original battery and the casing is plastic on the back there should be some flex. You'll have to report back and let us know if you end up trying it out.
Just ordered. Should be here tomorrow. I will let you know. Wish me luck
@@deniselewallen6003 will do!
Got back from vacation. I had to wait until we got home to change the battery since shipping took a while. The thicker battery seems to be working just fine so far. The tablet powered up and charged. I was just glad it worked. Thanks to videos like your's for giving me the confidence and knowledge to do this myself.
@@deniselewallen6003 Oh good, glad to hear it :)
My bmpro commander keeps going off and on, it won't let me operate it. Battery level was 35 percent. It's not even two years old. The good news is, I unplugged it from the wall and my phone operates the camper still. But I don't know how long that will last.
I think if you're up for the DIY battery replacement it'd be worth a shot.
I'll probably do both and have another one for backup 😊
@@1RComyn great idea 💡
Well, I have good news! I got a moment on the commander to unstall apps. Everything since I put it on the internet, it was loaded down and working in the background. I had to unplug it for a few minutes also. Now it's back to normal and battery is staying 100%! 😁🤙
@@1RComyn that is great news!
How is that battery doing now?
Yes, I sold my Pinnacle a couple months ago back in November. But, the new battery seems to have fixed my woes. I think it was getting voltage abnormalities tricking the Android OS to go into a power saving mode and reducing resources causing the software to glitch and run slowly. So, it appears the battery may be a weak point in the tablet.
Mine is stuck on the BMPro screen and I’ve taken out and charged and still not working. Is that the battery?
Possibly. What happens if you hold down the power and volume up at the same time or power and volume down at the same time? Does that at least reboot your tablet going to a black screen and then back into the booting? Or does it just loop simply again?
Tried that and stuck on that BMpro screen again. May just order the one you installed. Thanks for your advice.
@@keithturbett Sometimes when I see a stuck boot screen on Android devices it makes me think more of a hardware/logic board issue...but, hard to know for sure. You'll have to keep us posted either way.
What I’ve learned is that if the battery on the JAYCOMMAND tablet gets low enough, almost dead, the tablet will get stuck in the reboot loop. It’s doing that because the software reboot needs a good amount of battery to restart. And because the tablet won’t charge without being “on” and the power source doesn’t charge fast enough to get the battery past that restart screen.
What I did with mine is connect it to a rapid charger that you use for cell phones. After about an 30 minutes to an hour the tablet showed 10% battery and finally booted to the main screen. I left it on the rapid charger until the tablet was fully charged. It now works. It acts up when disconnecting to shore power but I think the battery being fully drained hurt it. I’ll be looking at replacing the battery. But it does work.
Our coach was left unplugged at the shop and ended up fully draining our deep cell batteries and drained all the power from anything plugged in. That’s what caused the tablet to go into the loop once we plugged it in to a 50 amp.
@@mavowar72 Oh, very interesting. That is incredibly helpful information. It makes sense, but I did not think about that prior. You'll have to report back once replaced and confirm if that fixed the issue. Thank you again for the helpful info.
Well, my BMPRO is dead again. I called Camping World two times and they'll get back to me. So I took the control panel to 1 Stop Shop. They won't solder. So I ordered the battery. There were complaints of the wires being reversed. So here's a way to change them right. ruclips.net/video/FTb876IKshk/видео.htmlsi=lsOm5lCZiLB9-jRO
Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully the battery will get you up and running.
Well, gotta say I got to take the Commander off the wifi and so far it 100% .
@@AdventureRocks well I changed the battery. It was swollen up. I didn't have to solder. I took the new wire ends out of the battery connector plug. The wire had metal connectors with holes to put the tablet wire in and I crimped them with pliers. Then wrapped with tape. It is all good👍 my wife called me a genius. 😄
@@1RComyn Nice! Even better! :)
@@AdventureRocks I should have video recorded it.
