    Horses sired by Ribot were just coming into vogue at that time. They tended to improve as three year olds as the year went on and Ribero was a classic example and he went on to win the Leger thus doing same double his brother Ribocco had done the year before.

    Inspired ride by Lester The Curragh found out Sir Ivor s stamina but he was brilliant at Epsom and in Washington fantastic horse. Lester said Sir Ivor was the best he'd ever ridden , but Nijinsky remains the last triple crown winner .

      I agree the Curragh more suited to Gallopers with Stamina, another example was Generous beating Suave Dancer in 1991

    Sir Ivor was beaten in the Eclipse and Champion Stakes also , he was very good , but not in my top 10

      Sir Ivor was not beaten in the Champions Stakes , he actually won it.
