How to Repurpose Old Dividers || Happy Planner

- We all have old dividers from our favorite planners just hanging out in our creative spaces. Why not try to repurpose those dividers to give them new life?!? In this video, I am sharing some of my favorite ways to up-cycle old dividers and reuse them in my current planner. I'd also love to hear some of your favorite ways to reuse dividers!

Great ideas! Whenever I see Happy Planner stuff on clearance at Hobby Lobby (sometimes they are DIRT cheap), I have to buy them, mostly for the discs alone, but these are great ways to repurpose those dividers. Thanks, Elisa, for another great video!

I’ve been using them to re-label and make custom sections in my planner, but this opens up a whole new world! I love the bookmark and vision board ideas!!

Thank you for the good ideas! I cut the disc edge off and bind mine together to create an art journal, they are a nice weight and hold paint well.

Certainly glad I don't have that many extras 😊 I like all the ideas but the one I might use the most would be the last one. The post-a-note page! I am forever thinking of things I need to remember..⚾️
Yes! Having a post-it note "parking lot" in your planner can be really helpful!

I would love to see you repurpose the folder that accessory packs come in!! They’re so pretty so I don’t throw them out but I’d like to use them for something.
I used to keep them all, but I got rid of quite a few when I changed up my craft space.
These are awesome ideas!! My kids seem to use a million bookmarks, so I like to cut some of them into basic bookmarks, put them in a jar. Beats them tearing random scraps of paper and leaving them around the house!

OMG! I love your videos. I have learned so much from them. I always throw the dividers out after each month. I never thought of using the scrapbook papert to cover the back. This is such a cost saving idea for those who are on a budget. Love it.

I agree it's great to repurpose I thunk it would be awesome if you have the extra ones is to make gifts or even yourself for example 2 books one for new and old testaments for bible study or if you study tarot, or herbs, or just about anything you can build your own study book with sections

My old dividers are still sitting on discs…from 2019 and forward… every time I decide I need to recycle them, I look at them and have some reason why it’s too cute to throw out… i’m gonna try to just keep maybe my top 25 of them and let the rest go, lol. But then I start thinking about how some of them are stargazer, some of them are homebody or planner babe, and maybe I should find someone who wants them in the FB trade groups, etc etc LOL
If you love them, it is time to repurpose and use them!

Another idea could be if you do lots of events to have sections like the PTA or Athletics make sections for emergency contacts, student info or even holidays if you throw parties make sections for guest lists foods gift ideas the possibilities literally are endless

Mine is a Fiskars brand, and yes it does fold in half. It is pricey, but I really like mine.

Has anyone tried using a heat tool to take the tabs off of the date planner dividers to make just plain dividers?
I have not - I imagine it would still end up damaging the divider.

How do you find the first hole with punch?
I just line it up with my eye, or use another HP page as a guide. The tool also has a built in guide that allows you to line up holes.
How do you combine dividers if you have planners with a different ring setup?
I would just trim off where the disc punch is and then re-punch the divider if you are switching over to a ring system instead of a disc system.
If you’re going, say, from a big planner to a classic planner or smaller or from a classic planner to smaller, you just cut them off to match the pattern on the size you want.
