- While making a getaway from the local police, Brian's (Paul Walker) car gets hit with a car disabling harpoon and he must remove it mid chase!

unless they were just a few meters away, hitting car going 100mph (160ish kph) with that is nearly impossible.that car was mowing with a speed of 30+meters per second. that's six lengths of a car distance in a second...

It is fictional and seen in this movie, Brian skyline got shot with the harpoon, his electronic units sparking and car engine shutting off, Brian’s Evo got shot but connection was unstable which shut off his electronic unit and slowed it down, which Brian got it off before it engages the emp voltage to trigger and he threw it to the cop car which made it shut down and lose control
If a cars ground connection was to receive a 12volt shock it could in theory short the system and destroy essential fuses. However the body of a car doesnt necessarily effect the ground connection to the frame on such a scale. Therfore i call fiction. If you had a car battery and hooked it to the cars frame it would toast many things on contact and render a vehicle immobile
@@tonyterpene I do know that if you do any welding on a vehicle, you disconnect the battery so it doesn't fry the alternator. Although if it were possible to somehow let off an electromagnetic pulse, it's possible it might fry the electronics. However, there's no guarantee of the ra
