Buddy Holly was one of the great's and like john Lennon it's hard to imagine what he would have created if he hadn't been taken from us so soon R.I.P...
Lennon was 40... Chances are he gave us his best, or a majority of it. Buddy actually influenced the Beatles, they chose their name because of "the crickets" ...
Buddy Holly and the Crickets were such an influence on the British music invasion of the early to mid-1960s, especially the Beatles. So many artists have covered Buddy Holly's songs: "That'll Be the Day" (Beatles, Everly Brothers and Linda Ronstadt), "Everyday" (Don McLean, John Denver, James Taylor), "Oh, Boy!" (Bobby Vee, Everly Brothers), "It's So Easy" (Linda Ronstadt), "Think It Over" (Ringo Starr),
I close my eyes and I'm back in the school auditorium...lights are low...shoes are kicked to the corner and a girl I've just met is in my arms. It's another Saturday night sock hop and we glide across the floor to Buddy Holly. That saxophone break alone is enough to bring me to my knees. Thank you for the memory. Here's another one that makes me look for a partner: Eddie Heywood's "Soft Summer Breeze".
Buddy Holly was simply an iconic and peerless musical genius during his very short time. The three stars the world has missed greatly since the day the music died.
Buddy Holly has been my hero since i first heard him at the age of 12, i was hooked from then became a Rock N Roll fanatic, a Teddy Boy, now im a Rockabilly at the age of 55, Buddys still my hero, a musical genius whos influenced so many stars in the past and present today. R.I.P Charles Hardin Holley (Our Own Buddy Holly)
I lived in the house that Buddy was born in (so I was told). My late father and grandfather saw him open for Elvis on Feb. 13, 1955. I have had a great many moments with amazing musicians, but nothing can top Buddy opening for Elvis.
Had Buddy Holly not died, rock woud have progressed further, faster. My favorite artist that wishes he were Buddy Holly was a one hit wonder Donnie Iris with a master pop tune called Ah! Leah!
This is music, before computerized things or sounds, just good old choreography, simple instruments and pure vocal skills. Thank you for reacting to this, as always, much love and respect,!,
They died in the same plane crash with the Big Bopper. About a year later Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent were in a Car crash in England . Eddie died and Gene was very badly banged up. Check them out. Peace.
I think if Buddy Holly and the rest of them didn't die I think the Beatles would not have been as big as they were. In fact the British Invasion would have slowed.
He's One of the Greats BUT not even close to Elvis Presley!! who had 4 different singing styles!!! Also not even close to his Stage Presents. Listen to some Roy Orbison who Idolized Elvis & sounds Must Closer to Elvis Presley's Voice
Buddy Holly didn't have the looks and he wore glasses, a big no no then, very NERDY. But in talent he overshadowed Elvis, and I'm a big fan. He wrote his own songs, was years ahead with the guitar. He had so many dreams and ambitions, one was owning his own recording studio. RIP Charles Hardin Holley, always be the best.....
you have to understand we only had buddy from 57-59 and all the great music that he created was all before the age of 22

My favorite love song and my favorite Buddy song. What a talent taken from us way too soon. RIP BH.
Buddy Holly wrote this song for his wife. He recorded it 4 months before he died in a plane crash.
Let the introduction to Buddy begin! Forever 22. Great job Enoma! A main difference between Buddy and Elvis was that Buddy was writing his own songs.
It's not a knock, it's a factual difference between the two.
Every time I hear this song my heart ❤ melts like butter 🧈 in the sun 🌞.

Watch the Buddy Holly story. Buddy would've been massive if he hadn't died
Maybe to get a general idea of his life, but the Buddy Holly Story is highly inaccurate.
In what way?
@@tobinhays652 here's a good article from 1978 www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/the-truth-behind-the-buddy-holly-story-49546/
Buddy Holly and Elvis were good friends and played together when they first got started. One of the Greatest voices to ever take the stage anywhere.
BUDDY LIVES
It was a harp that made that lovely sound x
KING OF ROCK..BUDDY HOLLY .....KNOW TRUE LOVE WAYS Buddy was the one to introduce the violins in rock
Legend who died to soon.
Amen....spot on Savio!
He was so talented all those songs he would have written if his life wasn't tragically cut short. Massive loss.
Es gibt keinen besseren Song nach 1959! Nennt mir einen, der diese musikalische und gefühlstiefe Qualität erreicht!!!
Buddy died on February 3, 1959. He was 21 years old!

Charles Hardin Holly, Big influence on early Rock and roll 👌 influenced most of the 1960s bands including the Beatles.
The saxophone is being played by King Curtis!
He started so many new things in music. Peggy sue was my song.
That's a nice song from the past. The Platters were also quite good, I think you will enjoy listening to them too.
ty
Special original unique
Richie Valenz was also very popular,, he died about the same time and close to the same age
They died in the same plane crash with the Big Bopper. About a year later Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent were in a Car crash in England . Eddie died and Gene was very badly banged up. Check them out. Peace.

Ritchie Vallens 17
The Big Bopper late 20s.

Love the song and your reactions to it.. Please try to check out the band Bad Finger back in the day they where known as the second Beatles..
A golden voice with that special lilt that he' had. You both got at once what a great singer he was. Try his "Peggy Sue" !!
Buddy may have been bigger than Elvis had he not died do young. He was very innovative.
By far my favorite Buddy Holly song! IMO one of the best love songs ever written and performed! RIP
I think it's True Love Waits which makes more sense than "Ways"
Anyway, any time Buddy Holly sings it's the right way
I think if Buddy Holly and the rest of them didn't die I think the Beatles would not have been as big as they were. In fact the British Invasion would have slowed.
Buddy wrote his music and he played instruments..Elvis only sang
You are he was the real king of rock and roll he had more talent in his little finger than Elvis had in his whole body
Don’t forget Angelica Hale
Gone too soon.
He's One of the Greats BUT not even close to Elvis Presley!! who had 4 different singing styles!!! Also not even close to his Stage Presents. Listen to some Roy Orbison who Idolized Elvis & sounds Must Closer to Elvis Presley's Voice

Many other Buddy songs out there....also Michael Jackson copied the hiccup sound that Buddy made when he sang
Buddy was more talented than Elvis...imo
Elvis copied Buddy
