As far as motovlogger motorcycle builds/mods go, you're at the top of the game, Jake my man. I fucking love how you manage to keep it short and concise and to the point, yet still informative and basic enough to even make rookies follow what you're talking about, but still interesting and informative for people who have more experience with motorcycles. I've said it befor and I'll say it again; you would make a great teacher, Jake. My wife watched this with me and she's never done a single motorcycle mod in her life except for things like switching levers and grips and such, and she was able to grasp pretty much everything you were talking about.
This will be interesting to see what the CBR parts do to the CRF. Granted, the gearing was a bit taller on those, but I expect a bit less power on the bottom end based on how the CB/R300 runs from my recollection of riding those. Only way to know for sure is try it and see! Can't wait!
I have a Black widow exhaust on my DRZ and theyre great quality and value for the price. Sounds pretty good too. 550 Performance does ECU flashes for these too. People are buying thai ECUs getting them flashed and keeping the original for a backup
@@MotoVet86 Thanks for the info. Still looks like a good value even if I have to make/buy a spark arrestor. Dont like the idea of the ebay knock offs and $650+ seems a little overpriced to me with the big name brands. Thats what I paid for my sportster exhaust a few years ago.
i have a 300rally with a full yoshi and 550 ecu. i really like the power. while making it more efficient in general, my bike runs wayyyy cooler than factory. however i still get about 65mpg
I wish they'd make a detuned version of the CRF450 with long maintenance intervals. It's got that sweet spot of weight, CCs, and solid HP. Get that maintenance interval up to 2000-3000 miles, get the price down a bit, and I think it'd storm the market.
Hey Jake, My dirtbike is in need of a rebuild kit but I’ve never ordered one before. I was wondering if you had suggestions on what is the best option.
Jake, i just moved to dallas and want a bike for my main commute from dallas to arlington (40 miles to and from) and i’d LOVE to get this ‘18 drz down the street but i hear mixed reviews about it on the highway. ideally i’d like an xt600 or dr650…or klr650 but i’d instantly switch to a street tire, as the z comes on. i remember when you had yours you would sometimes ride on the highway. do you suggest it? i’ve been riding for a while now so it isnt a matter of skill but what it puts on the bike lol
I wish i could ride out with you to the mohave desert but my schedule was already made :( I'm in Fort Worth area with a adventure oriented CB500X. I've got an itch for overnight trips and camping with it. COming from a FZ09 this CB500x is a quite a cut in power but it's plenty to keep up and pass most all cars and trucks when needed. MPG is also crazy good compared to the bigger bikes.
Hi, does anyone know where we may download map tuning for a bike with moto x Titanium exhaust, dna filter and airbox mod? We also have the dynojet power vison 3 but now realised that we also need the wide band to tune the ecu. We were under the impression that dynojet also supplied the maps. Would appreciate any help...thanks....bike is a 2022 euro model
Hey Jake, I’m needing to rebuild my dirtbike and am looking at rebuild kits. There is so many options and I don’t know what is the best. Do you have any recommendations.
At 9:30 you struggled with that fuel line, as a motorcycle tech I spent MONTHS doing it how you did. Turns out that style of clip is a push release if it’s the type I’m thinking of. Give it a try next time!
@@TheGardenSnake sometimes it’s possible to rotate the line, failing that just a real struggle or continue with how you did it. I must admit I still used that method for removing tanks on gsxr125’s.
Does the new exhaust have a catalytic converter to keep it legal for road use according to Federal Emission Laws or will all the mods be just for Off Road use only ?
@@TheGardenSnake I'm biased. For sake of comparison, an Austrian orange 350exc will do 40 hsprss to the tire in stock form and around 50 after uncorking and farkles. Not trying to be a hater here I love Honda reliability its just interesting how strong the ktms are. Keep up the great work. I look forward to getting that notification when you drop a new video.
@@Mrking-uu5uh Yes, it is interesting the span of power available. My son rides a Yamaha 2021 Yamaha WR250F and it puts out about the same or slightly more than the 350EXEC (screaming though!). they come with a spark arrestor?
@@phantomsky8592 I don’t think this brand does. You can order an aftermarket spark arrestor from Fischer moto. But they’re expensive for what you get.

Yeah the market would eat up a bike like that
My guess is 15% hp gain
So 27.6 hp
What I learned in this 12 min video is arguably more real world knowledge than what I paid over $80k for 4 years of college. Thank you Professor Jake.
