my bird just died approximately 1 hour ago. he was laying in his cage when I went to feed him. I picked him up and felt his heartbeat. he was dying. I held him close and kissed him all over. I told him I loved him, And he meant the world to me. I cried my eyes out, knowing he was leaving. he closed his eyes, I placed my hand on his chest, and his heart had stopped. I’m just glad I got to be with him at his last moments.

His name was Tippy, and for the second time since he mysteriously vanished that day, I bawled my eyes out, wishing I could race him to the door after getting off the bus just one last time. I wish I knew where he went, so that one day I could follow him just as he did me.

But because they don't live as long, our hearts break losing a pet that formed that heart for them. People get so attached to their pets, whenever they have to go, it hits them hard. Whelp here's a story because I am depressed ;) Me and my sister had a chameleon named Mercury, who we thought was a boy up until a few months ago, when she laid SEVENTY EGGS. Unsurprisingly, this really strained her and she died a week or so later, which really hurt because we had had her for 3 years. After she died, we got a crested gecko that my sister named Groff. He was just a baby, and when we got him we were in utah in the summer. When we had to drive back to california, we put him in a little travel cage. Unfortunately, he got overheated in the car and died. We were both heartbroken, but then we got another crested gecko named Lenny. He didn't like me that much but that was fine, and he lived for a few weeks. But he also died pretty soon. We hadn't done anything wrong, we did a lot of research, but he was old so he might have died of old age. This all happened over the span of maybe two months and we haven't gotten another pet yet. Oh yeah when Lenny died my friend also accused me of not taking care of him enough and said that he wasn't actually my pet so I shouldn't be that sad about it :>

This reminds me of my Lizard and Chameleon, I knew something was wrong with my Lizard before school and my dad wanted to go to a store after school and i told him to go home cause something was wrong with my Lizard and my Lizard passed away a hour later with me starting at him and crying my eyes out, he was my first ever best friend and reptile. My chameleon was sick for the last few days, we could not help him in anyway, My chameleon loved taking photos. He loved me so much, he died from sickness. He fell the night before he passed cause i knew he would proably die the next day, and when he fell i already thought he was dead but he wasn't and we put him in a nice box with a towel as a blanket and he passed away the next morning. He loved watching me play video games, He loved pictures, and me playing music on alexa. I miss them both so much they were my best friends.
