Who is SmallmouthCrush?
Travis Manson was born and raised in Wisconsin. He started fishing from the bank at a young age and spent most of his childhood with a rod in his hand. Travis is primarily a self-taught angler that is always learning and experiencing this amazing sport of fishing. He started out fishing for walleyes and fishing in local walleye tournaments, but then in his mid 20's, he caught the BASS BUG and has been hooked ever since. He competed at the highest level in bass fishing on the Bassmaster Elite Series for a number of years. He is a full time fishing guide offering trips on the Chesapeake Bay for largemouth bass(year round) and trophy smallmouth bass guided trips in Upstate New York on Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence River. His RUclips Channel is named after his passion for the smallmouth bass and will be used as a platform for "how-to" videos, on the water instruction, crazy on and off the water topics on the day in the life of a fishing addict! Hope you enjoy, and until next time we will see you on the water!

I realize it won’t move side to side, but push the boat frontwards or backwards and see if they just fold in and allow the boat to hit the dock….
i was thinking that exactly!!!
My thoughts exactly.... Show them in a river with current parallel to the dock and show how they do. If they handle that, I'm sold!
Looks like a great idea but most docks don't have the cleats spaced the same distance across from the boat cleats
Also some docks will sit higher up from your boat. Certainly still need to have a bumper system and ropes but in certain situations especially with floating docks this is perfect.
Made the same ones at Home Depot for $20. Still beats $81 for Dockstix at Tackle Warehouse.
This is awesome. Definitely ordering these right now
Thanks for sharing that . Just ordered a pair. Look sweet!
honestly, I don’t see it working perfect if the boat moves forward or backward, it will still rub against the dock !
I going to get some of those. Thanks Travis!
IT'S CRAZY GOOD!!
It’s the start of a great idea. Hasn’t been though through completely, so many flaws not addressed. This is one of those products that some people will buy and will stop using shortly after.
What do you do when the cleats dont line up?
What do you do when the dock cleat isn't lining up with your boat, or it's too far away for the dock rod to reach? Get a longer bungee? Get longer rods? Seems like it would be really good for a very specific docking situation with a few, pre-planned docks... but not something that would replace the universality of a bumper or fender. Anyone with a little sewing know how and access to those rubber gym mats can make a fold over bumper pad that could be secured to the gunnel or boat cleats, and it would protect from basically every dock out there... including if the dock went on top of the gunnel, or things weren't level or evenly spaced. I like this idea a lot better, but it seems like it's very niche.
buddy! yeah, splendid video! see you laetr~ 🤟
Ordered immediately, that's genius and well priced
it costs u less than $10 to make from pvc pipe and buggy cord from home depot
@@Nemesis8668 its about $13 with the end caps bud
Still would need some bumps in the middle if the boat pushes forward or backwards, guess you still need some rope to tie on front and back off boat to pull the movement out. ?
Boat crutches not a bad idea... 🤙
Looks simple and effective can’t stand my boat rubbing up against the dock
Like, like, like, like, look at this thing!!!!
Great idea 💡 but instead in your rainwear, what brand ?
That is the Striker suite......strikerbrands.com
Works if the dock cleats are lined up for your boat, if not .... no.dice
Overly excited about using a system that works fairly well in this particular water and docking situation with this size and weight of a boat. I can see where this concept could be expanded upon to accommodate other tie-up scenarios and prevent a forward or backward drift. There is no way I would leave my boat unattended by, "bungee cords". So what keeps the boat from sliding along the dock forward or back, which will put the rods at an angle, then the whole boat will move into the dock. Something else to consider is tidal changes. Sorry, for these reasons I'm out.
Lol okay Mr. Wonderful
Dock stix have been around for years
Wish I knew!!
Someone else parking on the ramp.
What if the dock doesn’t have cleats?
No good
I get how it works but wouldn't it be easier to just put your power poles down?
Unless you dont have them.
@@jhenningfish9831 well I don't but Travis does. My next boat will have them though and at the ramp is a big reason for it
Wait a second..... when did Travis go caymas!?
When he came out (as a vampire)
Works great, right up to the point when the boat moves forward or backward right up against the dock. Waste of money, sorry. Just use your bumpers.
Did you see me trying to push the boat? Couldn’t not move it
It’s bad the lenght is fixed
Why don’t fishing boats use fenders?
Alot of them do.
Show us on windy day, everything works great when getting paid to say it. Just how much stress on fiberglass at cleats on a windy day, give me bumpers and a rope
It’s been working out great for me so far. I tried to show the boat moving back-and-forth with my feet really hard to mimic wind. I typically don’t have to Doc anywhere where there’s 2 to 3 foot rollers coming in so far they’ve been a great investment for me and protecting my boat
Or use the 5k in power poles to hold the boat...
Poles and ropes will hold a boat but I was looking for something that wouldn’t not allow the boat to rub the side of the docks. Piled and ropes will keep your boat in one spot but the waves and wind will blow it up against the docks
Stupid idea fender cleat line
Pant- Load
Those things are JUNK! Tried them once and they allowed the boat to move forwards and back banging the bow and stern against the dock everytime another boat entered the marina a little to hot and caused waves. TOTAL JUNK
That’s strange that’s certainly not my experience I know it takes some time to properly know how to secure that to the boat and dock but once you do I couldn’t seem to make it move at all.
Dude, you obviously don’t have a boat in the water full time. That will not work.
Not full time I trailer. This is just for waiting at the dock in weigh in line and loading or unloading in windy conditions or a lot of boat wake
Big no
Sounds good buddy
2 words.... boat fenders
👎👎👎👎
What’s wrong there Jeff, speak your mind
It's cheesy broheim
But like your boat
@@fishwhisper4388 sounds good! LOL
They really work. I would buy them with caribeaners and not hooks tho.
What about dock with no cleats
