When fastened correctly the DockStiX work together to keep the boat from going forward or backwards. We have tested them in several configurations and situations and the boat hasn't touched the dock! Wind or Boat Waves.
Came here for the same question. Nothing stops it from moving forward or backwards. Also boat cleats and dock cleats don’t line up so perfectly, do they? Don’t see that much metal framing on docks very often either.
I made a pair of these but have not use them but I too believe that the boat will move forward or back but seems that these won’t work. Hope they do work but I’m very skeptical.
So, do these sink? I can see me dropping it in the water and saying goodbye. lol
nice vid Mr. Worldwide coffee talkin comedian
so what if the boat moves forward or backwards when the sticks are parrallal its gonna hit, they need to be in a v shape...

I would be worried that someone would steal them being docked overnight.
Yeah, this probably isn’t a good solution if you’re leaving your boat tied to the dock longer than it takes to go get your truck and trailer.
And how would that be different if using typical dock lines?
@@thooks1234 That's what I was thinking. All somebody needs to do is cut or untie a traditional dockline.
would these work on walleye boats that sits taller?
