John Ritter's death wasn't that overshadowed. His sitcom "8 Simple Rules..." was doing well at the time and his death was highly publicized . 17 years later maybe younger folks don't know about it but anyone who watched network TV in the early 2000's would have remembered it.

While I did know about James Avery, I didn't know about Gary Coleman until this video. Though to be fair, I'm European and his name around here doesn't really mean much. He's really not that famous outside of the US. Famous enough for me to (just barely) know who he is and what he's known for, but that's about it.

I thought A LOT of people already knew that Gary Coleman and John Ritter died though.
You could have either replaced several actors on this list or added these to the list:
Josh Ryan Evans -- from the show 'Passions'
    Vanessa Marquez--'E.R.'
    Sawyer Sweeten-- 'Everybody Loves Raymond'
Glenn Quinn-- 'Angel' and 'Roseanne'( the original verison)
    Andy Hallett -- 'Angel'
    Mark Frankel--'Kindred: The Embraced'
Also, I knew that Merlin Santana was murdered, but I had no idea until now that Brandon Quintin Adams was in the car with Merlin when he got killed and that the murderer tried to kill him as well. Wow. He's very lucky to be alive!😯
