- I made a terrible mistake by oversimplifying famous logos. We oversimplified Minecraft, Apple and Coca-Cola...

The Coca Cola one actually looks like something the company would change their logo into.
He should have just wrote coke in non fancy font.
i think the brown circle perfectly represents the sleekness of the game through it's minimal lines, but also shows how simple and smooth the game is through the non-complicated nature of the logo.
my pc can only run it on 5 fps

For example a real apple with a bite taken out of it for the Apple logo or a photorealistic grass block for Minecraft
No joke, as a Graphic Design student this is how some of my teachers honestly design. Sometimes I think they’re either joking or testing me but they’re 100% serious and it scares me.
This is very saddening to hear.
My teacher once showed me a ladybug logo, that might have taken 10 minutes to make, even for little first year me. He charged 1000 euro for it.

The tricolor circle version of the Minecraft logo wasn't even that bad, could be a legitimate 3rd party launcher icon.

polymc uses a pretty similar logo to that but it's a pentagon and has a bit more detail

This is a great video por graphic designers. Love the typhography used, the logo has a modern and almost minimalist look and feel. The color palette represent the world of Minecraft so well. Good job, I haven't even finish the video and I'm convinced that I will buy Minecraft 2.

There’s a point where it looks good simplified, but then it goes too far
Like when Chrome simplified its logo, I thought it looked better than the original
Unpoular opinion but the 3rd or 4th iteration of Firefox were the best iterations
indeed. the problem with oversimplifiying things is that they become so minimal to be unrecognizable. so some minor details are better be keeped in order to be recognized easily

The minecraft logo is _way_ too complicated, because it's a raster image, there's hundreds of lines because of all of the sharp edges caused by the pixels. It would be several magnitudes simpler if it was a vector image.
How is it complicated? The whole game is made out of pixels. It’s quite fascinating.

The worst part? The simple Coca Cola logo isn't even that bad.
Actually after all the sanctions put against Russia there started appearing some local analogues for Coca-Cola, one of them being Cool Cola which actually has just red and blue colors with a giant white C on them as a bottle design
You can look it up if you want, they also got Fancy as Fanta and Street as Sprite
