- Hi! This video takes us to one of the best ski holidays we have ever had! If you are looking for a quiet and wholesome week, this is the place for you.
It's especially good for beginners and families.
Compared to the other big ski resorts like Bulgaria and Austria, we would describe Kuusamo as being quaint. Very minimal traffic through the slopes, which is important when you're just starting out. There are plenty of green, blue and reds if you want to challenge yourself, albeit their difficulty is loosely subjective as you may know.
Also if you have a family and love excursions this could be for you! Personally, we didn't do any excursions as we tried to save some money, however, there are many activities for kids and big kids if you must such as sledging, seeing the huskies, and reindeer farms. For big kids, there are also skidoos, cross-country skiing and seeing the northern lights.
More than anything, bare in mind the breathtaking sunsets, hence the thumbnail! It's gorgeous!

Great idea! There’s a lockable box just outside our apartment, you can put lock it if you wish, it’s safe either way 😊👍🏻 have a great time!
Were off to rukka chalet in feb 25! Its our second time skiing and were okay. Were the slopes great for the beginners as they said ?
Also was it pricey eating out ?
Hi! The slopes were perfect for all levels! I think being a beginner is great here as we found the slopes really quiet so you get to take your time and practice without trying to dodge other skiers. Let us know how you get on 🤗
In terms of eating out it can be a little pricey - so we made a couple of meals ourselves. A tip I’d suggest is bringing your own seasoning so you can make some dishes and save money. 👍🏻❤️
Hiii I’m travelling to Ruka in December with my boyfriend and little girl! We’ve never skied before but we’re excited to give it a go 😅 I’m so anxious I’m trying to plan out excursions, am I best off booking them all now or waiting until I get there? Your holiday looks fab I hope you had an amazing time! X
Well jealous! Ruka is the best place for beginners in our opinion due to its forgiving slopes. I would say book it when you're there as it's always a bit cheaper. But if you're feeling anxious, as in feeling you may run out of place, I would say just book it online to relieve the stress and actually look forward to the holiday :) I hope that helps!

Actually Ruka is not in Lapland. It belongs to the Finnish county called Northern Pohjanmaa
Whilst you're not wrong, Ruka sits a few minutes drive out of Lapland County. Hence why most big travel agencies like Crystals Holidays and RUclips videos address one as the same. :) Thanks for sharing :)

@@jarmopaakkonen2045Vaikka niin. Vaikka Kuusamo ei kirjaimellisesti ole Lappia niin yhden päätöksen kuntien rajoista joskus muinoin ei tarvitse määrittää matkailualaa. Joidenkin mielestä Rovaniemikään ei ole oikeata Lappia. Turistit nauttivat samoista asioista Kuusamossa kuin "virallisessa" Lapissakin. On lunta, poroja ja kaikki tarvittavat aktiviteetit.
Pilkunviilaukset eivät hyödytä ketään näissä kommenteissa turisteille, jotka ovat tulleet Suomeen nauttimaan.
Jos oikeasti asia vaivaa kovasti niin kannattanee olla yhteydessä matkailumarkkinointiin.
Itse en näe mitään väärää kutsua Rukaa Lapiksi tässä yhteydessä.
Enkä Suomea Skandinaviaksi, kun Pohjoismaisten (Nordic) käsite ei ole tuttu ihmisille maailmalla samalla tavalla kun meille.

Are there special places where the Dutch, British, Germans etcc go ? and where are the most domestic tourists ?
