11/21/22 I bought 2 of these Christmas 2021. One for my 12yo son, 1 for me. I've been around offroad equipment all my life. Always went HOG WILD. Now that I am older, a lot more cautious. This bike fits me PERFECT! The problem I find, all these bikes bigger than the 125 (offroad, and street) is they are too tall for me. I can barely stand tippy toe . That is a safety concern. My son has never ridden before. HE DID FANTASTIC for a newbie. We did a 25 day road trip from Nj, Pa, Va, WVa, Tn, NC, Ga, Fl. THE BEST TIMES OF OUR LIVES! We are planning to do trips like this atleast 2x a year. I use the BLACK WIDDOW DOUBLE MOTORCYCLE ATTACHMENT. I extended the break/signal lights, and many marker lights. Toyota tacoma, still got 26+ Mpg. Great set up. Ultimately, I'd like a small toy hauler with a shower, ac, cooking. Eating out, and hotels get expensive . GOD BLESS HAPPY HOLIDAYS
We have the 2022 CRF 125 model and everything you said is spot on. My 11 year old figured out the clutch in a jiffy! Best CRF 125 vid on youtube. Cheers Mate \o
A typical reliable Honda that you can have for years, and with little maintenance keep for years and pass down thru the family. Perfect bike for newer riders or just general light trail riding to ride with kiddo's, etc. You must have gotten one of the last few for all the logistics and shipping nightmares really kicked in. Sad to walk into a dealer now and literally see no bikes on the showroom. Nice, clear simple review btw and what great place to ride, I'm jealous. lol
You would love this bike. I'm a grown man and I love it. But my boys do as well, and ride it a lot. Still looks and runs like new after more than six months of riding!
Excellent review! But you messed my head up and now I'm back to considering this bike because of the fuel injection!! I am buying this bike cash so i was seriously consisting the cheaper carbureted models from the other brands. After seeing this I'm back in the Honda camp...i rode a Harley fat boy on the street but I'm a tiny man haha i don't need a giant bone like that off road
Thanks for responding to comments. Good habit for a YTer. Thinking of picking this or the Kawasaki klx140rl to teach my kids. I’m going to grab a Honda crf250f for myself I believe.
I love my 2021 CRF 125FB. I will have mine for six months and your videos are helpful for routine maintenance. Not sure about the throttle sticking, I always would return the throttle. I'm 5'2 and wanted a bike great to learn on and this bike is perfect. Just as you mentioned the clutch is super smooth. I keep up with guys on side by sides, and others on dual sports with no problems. Looking into maybe getting a dual sport in the spring as I would like to explore more. thanks for the tips, safe riding.
We ride some sandy washes here where we live. Truth is it's a trail bike, and that largely depends on your expectations. It has plenty of power to get through, but it's not throwing a roost or pulling up the front tire in the sand. It's awesome for exploring and playing.
Not really! I hope you enjoy it. The bike is great, as-is. I'd say change the oil at least once per year, and clean/oil that air filter at least every 6 months. Oh, and don't forget to lube your chain from time to time.
Good luck! Work hard, save your money and show him that you mean it. That usually works. ;) Thanks for watching. I am sure that you would enjoy riding a CRF125FB, just like I do.
hey, really good informative video! I was curious if this bike would fit me? I’m 5’1-2 with boots on. I wanna switch back to trail bikes after I sell my yz85. Also hoping this would last a few years or just look into the 250f or 230. Thanks
Thanks! It’ll be a hair tall for you, but it’s one of the lowest full sized bikes out there, so if you’re going to a full sized bike I think you’ll enjoy it.
I have had my 2021 crf125fb since June and I have done a couple mods (pro taper bars, bbr throttle tube, pro taper grips) but something I would like to ask is how you feel about first gear on this bike that gear is the one gear that makes me wish it was a five speed because 1st gear is so short I mainly use it as a bulldog gear to get me up steep hills at a low speed but yeah just curious what you would say about first gear
So yes, it is similar for me, but I like it. I don't spend much time in 1st, except for low speed crawling. But I do like that it's there, and I use it. I especially like how it helps new riders learn the clutch at low speed and without killing the engine. But when I'm out on the trail I spend most time in 2, 3, and 4. So I think if I could pick, I would prefer to have 5 speeds, yes. But I think Honda did a great job setting this bike up so it works well with 4 speeds, especially where the bike has the torque to pull out of each new gear. The biggest gap in the gears is 1-2, and I wouldn't mind if that gap were closer. Thanks for watching!
While this is certainly subjective, I like it fine. I have owned and ridden lots of machines, including a KLX300R. Even so, I enjoy the suspension just fine on this CRF125FB, particularly when I use it as intended, as a trail bike. To me it is comfortable - I'm 5' 7.5" tall. I certainly do not feel cramped on it, and the suspension handles me fine, and does not bottom unless I jump it aggressively. Thanks for watching!
That’s what I need . I own a 2019 Honda pioneer 500 that I upgraded mostly everything 27”s tires 🛞 aftermarket wheels bumpers winch glass windshield Honda hard roof bar lights and bunch pods Elka suspension is on the way and power steering. Anyways I’m 48 years old and I want a trail bike small just to cruise around not need the stress of high compression high maintenance motorcycle. And I’m 5”5 so so short and to old to be crazy and brake my bones 🦴 hell no those years are gone . This is perfect
I have the 125F, 2019 and the throttle did the same to me. Turns out it was rubbing against the plastic box where the cables come in. I just moved the cable "box" a few mm away and I have not had issues since. By the way, does the 125FB have a rim lock on the front rim?
@@SouthwestORV Same here. Turns out it's been problematic year 2. The front valve became crooked, twice. I had a rim look installed and it seems to do the trick. Maybe something to keep an eye on once in a while.
Ever ride with somebody that has a crf100? I wonder how they compare overall as the 100 is lighter with a 5 speed. It would be an interesting comparison to see which one can trail ride better and which one has better gearing for slow speed rough riding. And also which one is easier to wheelie and such. Thanks
I hear ya! I love back up kick starts on bikes, especially for peace of mind. It is nice to have the back up kick start on this bike, although I will say I have not HAD to use it after one year of use. I imagine the 250F would be the same way...and I will probably find out this year.
To me it does not, but I'm only 5'7" tall. If I ride the 250X for a few days then it does feel small. But if I ride the 125 again for a few days, it feels normal again. Make sense?
If you can afford it the 250 would be better, it would feel a bit small but yes you could definitely still use it. (Speaking from friends and logic, not experience)
That's true, although they balance well and the weight seems to be centered pretty low so they don't feel as heavy as they are. That's been my experience.
I don't mind you razzing me about it. I always thought I was 5'9". Then I found out I was 5'8". Then I found out I was truly 5'7.5" and I was like "dang it!" So I claim that 1/2". ;)

I would do the same. The 140 is also a solid choice.
@@SouthwestORV thanks. Yup. I just realized a few days ago Honda makes the crf150rb I think? May get that instead of the Klx due to fuel injected.
No way I am also choosing the same 2 bikes you are thinking for your kids but I would get the Crf because it also has kick start with electric start
P.S. Great video! I just bought this bike for my grandson so that’s why I asked the previous question.
Thanks! We've loved it. I plan to hang onto it for a long time.

Im ready for a upgrade already , I think im going to get the 2022 Honda crf250rx
I've been looking at the same one!
Good vid! Im considering buying one but my big concern is how it handles in sand. Does it bog down too bad in sugar sand?
We ride some sandy washes here where we live. Truth is it's a trail bike, and that largely depends on your expectations. It has plenty of power to get through, but it's not throwing a roost or pulling up the front tire in the sand. It's awesome for exploring and playing.

this color way is so much better than the new ones 😢
I agree! It's bolder.
im 5 9 would this fit for a road legal build? i can only ride a 125 until i am 19 so i thought a honda would be best
Yessir!
Yes but if I were you I would get a big wheel because the bike is bigger.
Planning on getting one in September!
Awesome! I don't think you'll regret it! We still love ours.
Good video and beautiful bike
Thanks Dennis! I agree that it's a beautiful bike. I am sure enjoying it.
Just got a new 2023 honda CRF 125f any tips and any upgrade should do and its my first bike to get used to clutch and riding one

Great vid!! Should I upgrade to a crf125fb? I have now a klx 110R.
I say yes!
My son is 5"8 185 pounds. Would this be a good start
Could be, yes. But he’ll quickly be ready for the CRF250F. Consider just starting there.
I'm 13 years old and 5,6 and 115 pounds would this be the right size bike for me
Yes, it would fit you well.
Does it have good top speed and do you know what horsepower it has?
Great channel
Horsepower is not much, but don't know specifically. Yes, in my opinion 50mph top speed is plenty.
@@SouthwestORV cheers mate
I think about buying one so I can finally go to my local MX track. I'm a beginner so this should do just fine
It’ll be a great place to start.
Does this bike keep the battery charged well if ridden regularly?
How often do you have to charge the battery?
Thank you for your time.
I'd say yes. I have yet to even think about the battery, and we've owned it now for over two years.
I have never had it on a trickle charger. It just works every time I push the start button.
🔥🔥🔥
On faya
I’m 13 5’7 would this good be a good start
Yes. It would be a great start and a lot of fun. I'm 5'7" and 39 and 180 lbs and I ride this bike all the time.
@@SouthwestORV 6'3" 180 lbs and 42 - still awesome? 😉
Absolutely, I'm 5'6 160lb and this thing is awesome. Very fun bike.
Throttle sticking is either dirt in the Throttle tube or the Throttle tube to the bar spacing is too tight .
I need to pull it apart and check. On a warm day it's not an issue. On cold days it is stiff. Probably clearance...

did you ever have to like break it in or anything?

I agree. Great for trail riding. Ok for jumps.
Great trail bike. Ok for small jumps.
@@SouthwestORV alright thank you
Hey man I was wondering on the clutch wires the green and pink and green wires that connect to the clutch what does that do?
Good question. I believe those wires have to do with starting the bike, and needing to have the clutch pulled to start the bike.
@@SouthwestORV ok thx man
I am asking as we have a lifan 125cc pitbike
Your Lifan probably has very different gear ratios, and even tires sizes than this Honda. That will affect speed drastically.
How much more power would this have than a xr80?
It does have more power, due to 45 more cc’s.
Ok Thank You!!
is this a big wheel
yes that’s what the B is for, Honda crf125f - small wheel, Honda crf125fb - big wheel

Yes, I'm a smaller adult.

I'm 5'7" tall.
I’m 5’5 would that be too short or tall for this bike?
No, at 5'5" you would be perfect on it. I'm 5'8" and I ride it comfortably.
I’m only 5’4 and I would say it’s a good bike because I have bend in my legs for beginning as this is just my pit bike it would be good for a beginner
I’m 6.2ft would I fit I would just have it purely for fun and nothing else
