I think the ultimate low-end PC game is OpenTTD. I mean, TTD came out in 1994 and was made open-source in 2004 (and is still being regularly updated), so you know any PC today can run OpenTTD easy, and it's still very fun. Although I suppose DOOM should take the cake for best potato PC game because it can run on a freaking pregnancy test xD
as someone with 8 gigs of ram, a gtx 650, and an intel i5, i can run subnautica on about 60 fps most of the time, although it does drop down to about 30 in higher complex areas
i also recommend bloons td6 a few of the games here can not run on a laptop i used to have but btd6 never let me down, another good one that almost everyone knows is geometry dash
My man, if you put Factorio out in this list, it probably means you did not finish the game, because I can assure you, by the time you launch your first rocket, you probably have placed more than 10'000 items on the map + the ennemies probably attack you by packs of few hundreds minimum. I play with a RTX 3070ti, and every time I reach endgame (without any mod) I have lost something like 80 to 90 FPS. But I nontheless love the principle of making lists of games for people who own a low-end PC, and the rest of the list is very nice!
There's a really fun reverse-bullet-hell game that can run on really any PC and it's called Holocure. Granted, it's a fan game, but it is very addicting. It's also free! And even if you don't understand the references, or even know of Hololive, it doesn't take away from the experience. I have seen people who don't even know what a Vtuber is sink several hundred hours into the game. Check it out if you're into some eye-blinding chaos with anime women in it.

Not as certain for subnautica. However I do wanna push Duskers for people whos out for a survival horror. Its almost absolutely minimal with graphical demands. Absolutely scary fun, community is still alive and even the devs are still around and working around with it.

Hollow knight is probably one of the greatest games of the decade, imagine how good it is that his sequel, hollow knight silksong, is the second most anticipated game on steam. If you are searching for good graphics and 3D, you are going to find probably a not that great game in everyother aspect such as starfield or cyberpunk when it realesed. Not saying that a 3D game is bad, for example zelda TOTK, portal 2, baldurs gate 3 or elden ring are incredible games, im just saying that 2D games are also incredible.
Some of these games will be very laggy, even on the lowest settings on potato PC's. How do I know? Because I played most of these games on my old potato PC. Strange list.
The definitions of potato PC are constantly changing. My previous gaming notebook (from 2009) wont be even able to load Subnautica farther then the MENU. Sometimes it isn't a potato PC, it is straight necrospec stuff that should've been buried years ago. Also, Sseth really helped me to find fun and low-perfomance games. CDDA, Rimworld, Starsector, all that stuff is golden.

I do need to say that Cuphead does need a powerful pc. I started playing Cuphead when I had a gaming laptop (middle-upper price area) and it was not really playable. Suttering, ton of lags and overall bad performance. You really do need a fairly good gpu and cpu for this game or it will run poorly, especially important since it's a hardcore game. Also, how does subnautica run on a potato pc? I have a really good gaming pc and am yet to play Subnautica on middle-high graphics.

how do these games performance requirements compare to roblox since thats the only game that my pc can run outside of flash games. i have not found a single real game, even ported mobile games, that can run adequately on this godawful thermostat-spec pc.

dead cells is really good for low spec devices. i play it on a Ipad 9th gen, and its pretty good for a mobile game.
