In the first year of my college we were give different subjects of different departments but from second year the course curriculum changes and you only get department related courses with enough labs and course projects. Also theoretical knowledge is essential for anyone because it will give you a great insight into how things got formulated in the first place and you can't avoid competition anywhere if you want to step further. Even if you are a good software developer many of you dream companies will start with a coding test, the works you have done will be of great help in technical interviews but first you have to clear those exams

My relative is a ML Engineer in Apple California he's earning 5 Cr lpa remotely from India, he's not from iit Or any other tier 2 college you've not heard the name of the college as well. In IIT you'll get average 2-3 cr package outside india that too it's the highest package & Purchase power parity is also there it means you are earning 1.5 crore lpa as a fresher but for this you've to work like a donkey which is not in the case of experienced sde like my relative, less work + high wage..

Most of the students pursuing their MBBS from AIIMS Delhi are repeaters and the same condition is in IIT Bombay so he cannot say that the repeaters can not do well in competitive exams.
this year's allen's top rank in neet (air 4) is a repeater , so they would (& have) never say anything like that , thats why you should never believe everything you see in a web series , its all fiction , most of this is made up for entertainment .

No need to be a topper but need to do things in a disciplined and consistent manner. Believe me, you will achieve way more than a topper would ever imagine of.
Toppers are just hardworkers and discliplined people and they tend to study topics earlier than other students. Take a IQ test 90percent toppers and average students will score between 90-100. Its just about tactics and how much advanced prep u did. (I gave JEE in 2019. MY jee adv rank 1800. I did it in drop year. If i had prepared earlier from class 10th maybe I could have achieved a rank of 500< :))

As an individual who cleared jee advanced this year to the full of my potential and coming from one of the most reputed institutes of the country, I can assure everyone here that this is not how it works. It has been simply exaggerated sky high. General gender neutral seats in jee are around 8k, contrary to what's said here. The fact that not all toppers come from Kota, leave alone Allen is a myth already busted twice in 22 and 23. From my personal journey and my peers experience, not everyone who makes it to the top IITs are toppers throughout, I myself was not one. I got 86% in Xth. Today I'm one of the three students from my school who's making it to the IITs. So it only depends on your hardwork and passion towards achieving something extraordinary. A battle won in your mind is a battle half won.

I heard all of this nonsense at my coaching institute. Supposedly to motivate, but mostly made me anxious and doubtful of my capabilities. Constantly compared myself with others and found myself lacking. Wrote JEE Mains and cleared it but couldn't clear Advanced. I thought my IIT dream ended there. I thought I would be a nobody because of all the dumb B.S that my coaching institute fed me in the name of motivation. I had failed and that was that. I went on to do my B.Tech at a fairly reputed college in Kerala, worked for two years at an ed-tech, wrote the CAT exam and now I am pursuing my MBA at India's oldest IIT - IIT Kharagpur. Yes give it your best shot, but if you don't make it, trust me there are other things, better things waiting for you. Everything in its own time. And its own place. P.S. Don't believe that your life is set if you get into an IIT. Life will always be a struggle. Just slightly better struggles.

Toppers are just hardworkers and discliplined people and they tend to study topics earlier than other students. Take a IQ test 90percent toppers and average students will score between 90-100. Its just about tactics and how much advanced prep u did. (I gave JEE in 2019. MY jee adv rank 1800. I did it in drop year. If i had prepared earlier from class 10th maybe I could have achieved a rank of 500< :))

As an individual who cleared jee advanced this year to the full of my potential and coming from one of the most reputed institutes of the country, I can assure everyone here that this is not how it works. It has been simply exaggerated sky high.
General gender neutral seats in jee are around 8k, contrary to what's said here.
The fact that not all toppers come from Kota, leave alone Allen is a myth already busted twice in 22 and 23.
From my personal journey and my peers experience, not everyone who makes it to the top IITs are toppers throughout, I myself was not one. I got 86% in Xth. Today I'm one of the three students from my school who's making it to the IITs. So it only depends on your hardwork and passion towards achieving something extraordinary. A battle won in your mind is a battle half won.

I heard all of this nonsense at my coaching institute. Supposedly to motivate, but mostly made me anxious and doubtful of my capabilities. Constantly compared myself with others and found myself lacking. Wrote JEE Mains and cleared it but couldn't clear Advanced. I thought my IIT dream ended there. I thought I would be a nobody because of all the dumb B.S that my coaching institute fed me in the name of motivation. I had failed and that was that. I went on to do my B.Tech at a fairly reputed college in Kerala, worked for two years at an ed-tech, wrote the CAT exam and now I am pursuing my MBA at India's oldest IIT - IIT Kharagpur. Yes give it your best shot, but if you don't make it, trust me there are other things, better things waiting for you. Everything in its own time. And its own place.
P.S. Don't believe that your life is set if you get into an IIT. Life will always be a struggle. Just slightly better struggles.

@@hetshah6544 u live in a delusion my dad and uncles who work in cisco and Google respectively got to interview IITians and from what i have seen IITians are not great as what h think they are , most of the IITians cleans windows in offices few who succeeded are considered successful because of them being an iitian where reality is they had to work for it and had no role for them being an iitian . Not a single successful person has mentioned about college being one of their secrets of success rather most drop out because success has nothing to do with being from the best college

@@Msaha25 even I am in 12th science lekin main khud decide karke liya tha, I told my parents main science karunga lekin yeh entrances ke chakkar main nahi jaana mujhe.IIT was never my goal. I wanted to study abroad and made them understand ( but yes my dad can afford it, not everyone has that privilege. Even then I am trying for scholarships and grants,to not burden him. I will going to US in Jan 2023 if everything goes right
